She is not a believer that hard work can pay off, so she forms a very quick opinion about your child that will never change regardless of how much they improve. The studio is a fortune with little to show for it. You pay all of your classes twice a year but there is pretty much an expense every month. They up charge for costumes - they were 85 dollars a piece. I found that my girls were always told what they couldn't do versus teaching them how to do it. One of my daughters, who was told she was a "bad" dancer, is now on BCC Poms. If I truly had a really talented child, I would not choose C-Unit. They do not have a long track record of getting their dancers onto Broadway, etc. There are other studios in the area that do.

Now it's been quite some time since…read moreI took dance lessons, but in a recent conversation with a friend who's interested in ballroom dancing, I highly recommended Now and Then Dance Studios explaining how I loved the private one-on-one attention with the instructors, the group lessons, and the dance parties. At first, it was intimidating to see others dancing so well, when I couldn't figure out at first how to do a rock step! I didn't think I could do it, but with the dedication, passion, and patience from the instructors, I learned the Foxtrot, the Waltz, Rumba, Cha-cha, Swing, Disco, a little Tango and Merengue. Now, rather than getting on the floor at weddings dancing the all-too-familiar penguin dance (basically rocking side to side like a penguin), I owe my confidence level and dance experience to Now and Then.

The first lesson we scheduled, I was so nervous that I actually walked out before it began. But still they spent ten minutes trying to make me as at ease as possible and demonstrated the kind of dancing I'd be learning. When I made the decision to come back and try again, they were all so excited and just as welcoming as at that first lesson. The experience from there was so comfortable and fun, which I never expected. Our instructor Amelia was just the sweetest person and also so patient and understanding, plus great at giving instruction and helping when we got lost in the steps or couldn't get something right away. I highly highly recommend taking lessons or classes here.
