I found out about Evolution Salon through Moonlady News and finally went there this past January 2012!....The owner, Theresa, put me in touch with Rachel Jacobson, a FANTASTIC, creative, beautiful (inside & out) hair stylist! I couldn't have been matched with one of the best people there at Evolution! Rachel is a great listener and assists in creating the look you want and simultaneously brings out the BEST in you (she does with me!) Being new to the area...I wanted a style that was 'more me' and she did this with effortless and ease...and made me feel at home on my first visit! And....I chose Evolution Salon because of their motto of 'bringing out the best in you....being who you are and the space is very 'homey', relaxed and comfortable.... Rachel is....DA BEST! ooooh... this is my new favorite place! It's so comfortable and private - and I can't believe I've lived a block away for over ten years and never tried it before! I called and left a message to book an appt. and was called back by Summer - who just bloody ROCKS hair and seems to know exactly what I want without my even saying it. I have long hair that every other stylist I've been to has done the exact same thing with - long layers and a blow-out - even though I tell them I like BIG hair... but I just end up with clips and ponytails because you can't get big hair out of long layers without hot rollers and half a can of hairspray and it all just wears me out. And that's all I had to say to Summer - BIG HAIR - and it's like she reads minds. She isn't afraid to cut - and I love how she cuts my hair wet first and then dry. I've had her do a bit of color too - and it's just perfect. My hair was really damaged from illness when I first went to her and in just a few appts - it's almost like it didn't happen. I went to Evolution on the recommendation from a good friend. She recommended Teresa the owner. I am pretty pick about my hair and and get really cranky when it's done wrong. Right away I felt at home! I felt like I was transported to a magical place and right away I feel in love with Teresa's personality. Her personality defiantly comes though her business btw and so far everyone there is friendly and seems happy. I only see Teresa but from the reviews here I can see other people like the employees. All I can say is my hair never looked so good, and when I go I never want to leave. It's like a little bit of heaven and I can't wait for my next appointment. Looking for a great salon! Rachel Jacobson at Evolution Salon is the BEST hair stylist!!!! She always keeps my short hair fresh and current. She offers suggestions, as well as, listens to my feedback. She comes up with subtle variations each visit so that I don't get bored with my hair. Her coloring skills are outstanding!!! I love the way she makes my hair look natural. My visits with Rachel are always an enjoyable experience, she's fun and energetic, I always leave the salon feeling revitalized. Aimee Myers is my hair stylist as well as my friend now. I would follow her anywhere. That is how I found Evolution. Theresa, the owner, I met my first few moments there and her menagerie of dogs (love that). The salon is so zen like, it makes me feel right at home only better. Anything I want to do with my hair, Aimee is capable of doing so. She has been doing my color for a year or so now and I love the salon's products. When you pull up to the beautiful old home that's been transformed into a unique yet welcoming salon, you know you're going to get more than the average haircut. Summer Petrea gave my teenage daughter a bright pink bob to make her summer acting program in New York City even more special. Things went so well, she's headed back to the New York Conservatory for Dramatics Arts for a 2 year program but this time she's got the cutest pixie cut to show off her sense of style and her porcelain doll features! Great hair stylists are hard to find. I started going to Van Nguyen four years ago and followed her when she went to Evolution Salon on Lemmon Avenue last year. The salon is a remodeled home and each stylist owns their own chair. Van earned my trust and vote of confidence early on and as a result I am totally relaxed in her care. I sit back and enjoy the experience while we casually chat about family, friends, and current events in each other's lives. Evolution Salon is a very fun and relaxed environment. Everyone who works at the salon is friendly. When you go to Evolution make sure to book with Summer Petrea. She is a very talented colorist and also does amazing cuts. I've been going to Summer for a few years now and my hair always looks great. My friend Michelle told me about Tony Hauser at Evolution Salon years ago and I don't know why I kept putting off going to him. He's been my stylist for 3 years now and I will never let anyone else touch my hair...which was a hot mess when he first got his hands on it! He's a genius with the color, and he gives a great head and neck message...which is why I do the 40 minute drive from Highland Village to Dallas every six weeks. He's well worth the trip!! read more

I have never found a "permanent" stylist until I found Van Nguyen. I was seeing her at Aveda and followed her to Evolution. Van is just brilliant, not only is she great at what she does, she's also knowledgeable, confident and has an amazingly honest personality. She also dishes advice on makeup! I have had the same hair dresser for 17 years! Tony Hauser is the best! He will always accomodate your schedule and bends over backwards for his clients. He is an expert colorist and stylist and I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is very imaginative and has wonderful ideas on how to make you beautiful and that is his goal each and every time I am in his chair! Alright so I can't seem to stay away from the salon...I think I am addicted to Evolution...sounds silly but they have everything there...from massages to getting my hair did and waxing something! Plus!!! they have some of the best hair dressers in town! I personally am always torn between Brad and Chris...but it works because I alternate, if one is booked I just go the other! I love Tony. He is the best hairdresser I have ever had. He's been cutting my hair for 10 years. I have really fine hair and he always cuts it just right. He's really good at styling it also.
