Cat Box Deli is a great place to grab a quick lunch or breakfast in the downtown area. There's no space to eat in, it's just a spot to grab a quick bite, but the food is great. And the owner, and guy who works in the shop/makes your order, Evan, is fantastic! He's super friendly and always remembers everyone. Cat Box is located in the PNC building, so lots of the folks who work in there frequent the place, and you can tell. When you're in there placing an order it's not uncommon to see people welcoming each other by name and having more in-depth conversations with Evan than you would normally have during a food order/pick-up. It's great! Always puts me in a good mood to go in there and grab a bite. The breakfast is fantastic. They have breakfast sandwiches with your choice of bagels, croissants, flatbreads, bacon, ham, sausage, egg, cheese, hash browns, onions, peppers, etc. They also have cinnamon rolls and other pastries. And everything is really reasonably priced. You can get a hearty breakfast for under $4, including a drink. Lunch at Cat Box is also great. They have a daily special, which you can find located on a board inside the restaurant as well as on one outside the door, in case you're just a casual observer. I don't know the entire schedule, but I know that on Mondays the special is tacos and on Wednesdays it's nachos. I think Fridays may be BBQ pulled pork. It's an eclectic menu, ranging from salads and sandwiches, to more hearty fare like those items listed in the daily specials. They also have baked goods, like brownies and cookies, chips, soft drinks, bottled beverages, shakes, smoothies, and probably a lot of other stuff I don't know about or can't recall at the moment. I definitely recommend Cat Box Deli as a quick lunch or breakfast spot when you're in the downtown area!

    All the yumminess inside.

Smells delicious!! The aroma to this place is the first thing that caught my attention... After finishing up a meeting in the building, I was on my way out to the car and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. I quickly grabbed my phone and looked up "cat box deli", the reviews made me want to give it a try! I was not disappointed, but I will say I was starving! The BBQ smelled amazing but I opted for a "chicken Philly" and a cookie. Pretty tasty, and hit the spot. The ciabatta bread was fresh and soft. It definitely has a greasy spoon type of feel and the smells from this place consume the air throughout the lobby. Definitely was not disappointed and would love to stop in and try another Sandwich the next time I come through here... The staff was extremely friendly as well!

Divey, but great quick food and service. Essentially just a counter and a kitchen. Casual as can be.

This place is the best kept secret in downtown Louisville. Great food at the best price in the area.

The pastrami, the rye bread (specially made for them) and the potato salad were excellent. I was glad to have ordered the 1/2 sandwich as it was quite enough with the potato salad. There is a large menu board as you walk in the side door (the deli is located in the back of Dittos restaurant). They primary have soups salads and sandwiches and daily soup specials. You order at the counter, pay for your order, get your drink at the beverage area and have a seat. They will then bring your order to your table. We both opted for the pick two combo. I had a half ruben sandwich and a bowl of white chili. Both were excellent. A huge half sandwich and a large hearty bowl of white chili. The chili was flavorful but not spicy. It had lots of shredded chicken, beans and corn (which could have been left out in my opinion). My friend had the chicken salad sandwich and the white chili and said her sandwich was good, also a very large. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, parking on the side and in the back of the building. I had not been for years but it was a good choice for a late lunch.

Being Saturday, I asked if I had to pay, and Patrick pulled a bunch of quarters out of a glass jar on the counter. How was that for service? I ordered the Reuben. I sat outside (a few tables) and waited for what I hoped would be an excellent sandwich. It was a perfect Reuben with perfect inhouse made pitato chips on perfect toasted rye bread (from Pittsburgh) and even a perfect crisp. pickle. The corned beef was delish. GO, and have yourself this amazing Reuben, the best I've had in Kentucky. Thanks Patrick for a great lunch. 56

This deli hits all of the high points. Matzo ball soup? Si. Corned beef and pastrami sandwiches on rye bread? Oui. Black and white cookies? But of course. Latkes? Well, this one surprised me, because I didn't think a deli would serve latkes, but why the heck not? For good measure, there's even a signed and framed photo of Larry David hanging on the wall. This is my kind of place. The thing to get here is the corned beef with pickled cabbage. The sandwiches here are huge, but you can get half of a sandwich with chips, and it's just the right portion for a nice lunch. Along with my half corned beef sandwich, I got the matzo ball soup. That's a pretty big matzo ball hanging out there, like Seinfeld would say, but it's hanging out in a clear chicken consomme. The matzo is the size of a whiffle ball, practically. It's dense but gives way easily under the slight pressure of a spoon. It's a very satisfying and comforting soup. My children shared a grilled cheese sandwich, which they liked but were thrown off at first because the cheese they used in the sandwich was white. So if you have a kid who likes yellow/orange cheese, maybe keep that in mind. There are lots of tables inside and out, but Good Belly gets very busy, and we barely got a table. This is also a great place to get takeout, if you're not feeling like fighting the crowds.

The bacon was thick and a great portion. The fries are thin and super salty. I'd recommend a different side to go with your sandwich. I noticed a pick two for a salad, soup, or sandwich. It included a drink, which made it a good deal. The menu offers several breakfast and sandwich items, plus bakery, salads, and sides. Plenty of seating and I enjoyed the brightness of the main room with its high ceilings. We had a table of 40+ people. The food came out together and our server hustled with a smile.

I started off with a diet coke and it fell flat. The menu listed a fountain drink and it was coke served from a soda gun. The carbonation wasn't strong and didn't last past the first few sips. I ordered off the breakfast menu and got the huevos rancheros and a blueberry muffin. The eggs were cooked to order and the potatoes were delicious! The muffin was okay. It was a bit on the dry side and would be skipped next time. My friend got a BLT and wasn't impressed. One piece of bread was soft while the other was hard, almost stale. It's a beautiful space but the meal was a disappointment.
