Several of the restaurants on Bardstown Road are closed during lunch on weekdays so we opted for Stevens and Stevens Deli for a late lunch before a hike in Cherokee Park. There is a large menu board as you walk in the side door (the deli is located in the back of Dittos restaurant). They primary have soups salads and sandwiches and daily soup specials. You order at the counter, pay for your order, get your drink at the beverage area and have a seat. They will then bring your order to your table. We both opted for the pick two combo. I had a half ruben sandwich and a bowl of white chili. Both were excellent. A huge half sandwich and a large hearty bowl of white chili. The chili was flavorful but not spicy. It had lots of shredded chicken, beans and corn (which could have been left out in my opinion). My friend had the chicken salad sandwich and the white chili and said her sandwich was good, also a very large. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, parking on the side and in the back of the building. I had not been for years but it was a good choice for a late lunch.

The closest you can get to a New York deli in a zip code starting with 4. I love this place, I've always loved this place even though I haven't been here for a while. Today it was the Pastrami Reuben and Matzo Ball soup (who knew it was called the Jewish penicillin?) and both were great. The Tuna Melt is excellent and so are the fresh fruit & cookies. The only drawback is you're paying New York prices, my sandwich & soup was almost $24.00, I drank an ice water.

What a cute Jewish deli! I had a you turkey me Jane (my name of course) and half the tomato alfresco. I did think the pasta had too much sauce though. And I didn't realize it was in the same place as Ditto's grill lol.

Louisville's perfect deli lunch spot! Stevens & Stevens Deli is just the perfect deli! After you have the BLT. I don't know how you'll want to try anything else! This is just the perfect lunch spot! You can't go wrong with anything. All the sandwich are generous in portions! They want wonderful sides if you need a bigger lunch. If you need a treat, they have several amazing sweets as well. My favorite cookie is the butterscotch cookie. My favorite cookie is the chocolate chip cookie. My favorite cookie is the oatmeal cookie. Ok. They are all my favorite cookies and taste like I make a home! They have an amazing mushroom soup! You will find some free parking adjacent to the building and a free small parking lot behind the building which is shared with Ditto's. When it's busy, you might have to search for some parking on the surrounding streets

Skip the matzo ball soup and get a whole pastrami sandwich! The good: -Pastrami sandwich was delish -good customer service -plenty of seating -decent price -quick service The bad: Only one thing really, the matzo ball soup. The soup was on the low side of mediocre but the matzo ball was lacking in flavor and I ate a few bites before giving up. Despite how good it was it lacked flavor. I'd come back and try other sandwiches but I don't think I'd try a soup again.

I was hoping to find a good deli in the area so I wouldn't miss my Houston favorite, Kenny & Ziggys. Steven's & Steven's came darn close. An above average deli. My friend had a John & Marla Casual Stroll which is a lengthy way to say, turkey, bacon & cheese sandwich. I had the Phantom of the Opera. A fancy name for pastrami & chopped liver with cheese on rye. S&S is big into adding cheese to sandwiches which is not really done in most delis. The pastrami was thick cut (I prefer sliced thin) but with good flavor. And the chopped liver was a bit bland. Still, try to find this delight at Subway . One orders from the counter and your food is brought to your table. Some sandwiches come with a pickle, some don't. No rhyme or reason. Want slaw? It's an additional side. Chips? Yes. Fries? Uh uh. There's a cooler with Dr. Brown's. So that's a plus for the deli purist. All in all, a solid deli, right here in Louisville.

Great food, service, and selection. Been a customer for years and this review is long overdue. The BLT is fabulous along with Pastrami, Corned Beef, and I could go on and on. Great selection of cold pasta dishes and the homemade cookies are fabulous.

Good sandwiches. Similar to NYC deli feel. Always a decent meal. Check it out for yourself.

Don't get me wrong; everything was good, but it didn't live up to what everyone was saying. The location is great. It's on the corner of Frankfort and Clifton. I like all the windows and the chill vibe. It's seat yourself, but they do table service. We got empanadas: beef, chicken, and ham & cheese. They're great--just like the ones at Classico Takeout and Empanadas. They were out of the entree we wanted so we got the salmon. It was pretty good. My biggest disappointment was the pizza. Several people recommended the spicy Thai shrimp pizza. It was just okay. I did not taste any Thai flavor. It was basically a cheese pizza with diced shrimp and a drizzle of buffalo sauce. I didn't care for the crust either. It ended up being a $70 dinner that was just okay. If we go back, it'll probably be for the empanadas or fries. It seemed like almost every table got the pomme frites so they must be good.

She offered recommendations when we were indecisive, and made sure each customization was executed accurately. The food: unpredictable. Let me explain: I ordered the gazpacho and the ensalada fresca. Both come with a hearty slice of Blue Dog crusty sourdough. Gazpacho: one million stars. SO delicious - flavor is spot on, with incredibly creamy texture for a vegan soup. Salad: not bad, but didn't blow me away. The greens were tasty, and the few tangerine slices and pine nuts scattered on top added a nice depth. The balsamic dressing was also pleasant. As a whole though, I felt something was missing. Maybe a crunchy or warm element? For a $15 dinner salad I expected more. The pricing: a little steep. I understand the goal is to provide elevated European cuisine, however for the quality and quantity I didn't feel the salad was worth it. That said, I would gladly pay $4.50 all day long for that gazpacho. Overall I appreciate the variety of options, especially vegan and vegetarian menu items. I would consider a return visit for the gazpacho for sure, however the issues above merit shoring up.

The event was for a Kermit Lynch paired wine dinner in partnership with the neighboring Wine Rack business. All of the food items were fresh, flavorful, and creative. Our first course was a Red Hog pâté on house made brioche, second course field greens with many locally sourced ingredients, third course Fischer Farms pork product, and finally a cheese course with honeycomb that capped off a stellar dining experience. Service was excellent and attentive without being intrusive. Very friendly and personable, which was also refreshing. We were also appreciative that the wine reps and managers stopped by each table briefly to answer any questions and provide further info. Restaurant seating includes indoor and outdoor covered and uncovered spaces. Communal tables and individual seating at tables or counter height options, as well as bar seating overlooking the open kitchen concept. The chefs and staff appeared to be a well oiled machine and produce quite a demonstration while in the trenches. Noise level can be moderately high when restaurant is at capacity with happy diners. Location has free street parking at corner of Frank and Frankfort Avenue, as well as free parking in the lot located behind and to the side of the business. There is also the butcher shop attached to the restaurant, but it was closed during our visit. Looking forward to returning to check this out in the future as well and hopeful to replicate some special dishes at home. Finally, this place smells GREAT! Reminded me of my origin story rooted in rural spaces and the requisite smokehouse perfume. Happy place!

Lunch menu was a little pricey but we figured this meat must be amazing to have these prices. First the cocktails. Pricey at $15 a pop. We tried two that sounded pretty different the Spanish Pipe Dream and bourbon based Velvet Goldmine and they were just ok and kind of tasted way too similar. These were supposedly on the sweeter side but I'd give them a 6/10. We tried the $17 dry aged burger with an additional $2 charge for fries and it was pretty good but after all the hype it similar to all smash burgers. The dry age flavor really wasnt there. Bun was standard brioche type, not toasted. Good burger but nothing special though. I did enjoy the sauce and toppings giving. It a unique sweet flavor. 6/10 but just go to Toastys for a similar cheaper one with way better fries. The fries were disappointing. Soggy, floppy, zero seasoning and salt on the. Tasted like the oil they were fried in and that's it. Not the best. 5/10 Turkey club. 8/10. $18 with no sides. The bread and sauce really do 99% of the work because taste wise the turkey was not discernable from supermarket deli turkey. The bread is a delicious oven baked pizza crust folded over and the sauce combo tastes like a Cesar salad. I highly recommend this , it's a simple but amazing sandwich, but it at this price point for salad and turkey on pizza crust it really should have a side. Service was 2/10, non existant. Took 1.5 hours to get out of there because of how it took 20 minutes to order and another 20 just to get our drinks, and our server was busy with tables outside so we didn't see her until we were asking for our checks. Overall the food was good, drinks just ok, but the hype this place gets , at least for lunch, along with the service is grounds for dissapointment.

I ordered the shrimp and grits, and without exaggeration, they were the best I've ever had. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the balance of textures throughout the dish was incredible. Every bite had the perfect amount of crunch, flavor, and toppings. Nothing felt overwhelming or out of place. It was one of those meals where you find yourself slowing down just to enjoy every bite. Even the water deserves a mention. It was clean, crisp, and refreshing. If it came straight from the tap, I would have never known. It's a small detail, but it speaks to the overall dining experience when even something as simple as water stands out. The service was great, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to accessibility. As a person with a disability, parking can make or break a dining experience. Unfortunately, there was no handicap parking available, and there were no nearby parking spots open when I arrived. I ultimately had to park in a hotel lot about a block away, which cost $25 for just two hours. Not only was the cost frustrating, but the additional distance was challenging given my mobility needs. The food was phenomenal and absolutely worth trying, but I do hope accessibility becomes part of the conversation for future guests. For those without mobility concerns, this may not be an issue, but for disabled patrons, it's something important to consider before visiting.

Because it was bigger than my head (ok, maybe this is a slight exaggeration but not by much) i had to disassemble it to eat it in stages. First off were the waffle fries and I found them to be tasty, crunch and fluffy in all the right spots. Once the taters were off I cut that biggie baby in 8 'Oh My Danwich' slices. Y'all, I rarely find myself at a loss for words, even my high dollar, 10 letter ones, but I can't fill this space with all the adjectives I would want in describing this sanwich that would make you want breakfast for every meal. The sausage had that savory salty pork taste that makes you happy you're not a vegetarian with an egg slice that was fluffier than my German Shepherd's downy fur. The cheese even had a nice pull with the topper being their chive aioli. And that sandwich was just the beginning because I also ordered a Strawberry Cruffin, Bourbon Peach hand pie and a raspberry Danish to have as late night snacks. The handpie didn't do it for me. The peaches lacked flavor that I found myself asking bestie if she wanted it because I was jiat going to toss in the trash after just 2 bites. The strawberry mascarpone cream in the cruffin was silky smooth and berrylicious with the croissant being flaky and fluffy. It was almost like a sweet and savory after school snack. The kind of bakery item that keeps you coming back for more. And more. And the piece de resistance was the raspberry Danish. I've lived my 61 years learning to never turn down raspberry anything and today, my raspberry research paid off. One hundred percent tenfold. Even though the glaze drizzle was super sweet, the flaky danish offset it with that light crunch but fluffy innards. Y'all, with each bite I just fell more in love. The Danish was so good that when I came to my last bite not only was I sad that it would soon be gone but I wanted to cry. Cry y'all. Over a Danish! Yes, do it. You only live once. Order the Danwich & the Danish. You won't be sorry. You can pay me in Butchertown gift cards. Or Bourbon. Hubby's brother lives across the Ohio so, next time he goes to visit them I'm going with him. Just so I can drive over here and try their lunch items and grab more danishes. The folks were super friendly, the place both clean and quiet. Which, kinda surprised me because the food is so good I couldn't understand why there weren't lines around the block. That changed the longer we dined in as folks just started roaming in. I said to my friend that the Louisville folk must get started late in the day.
