    Twig & Leaf Burger

Amazing customer service our waiter was very attentive to our orders as I'm picky and so is my girl. Burger exceeded my expectations, didn't need any condiments which says a lot to me. Can't lie best burger I've had in a while.

Love the service here. This place is amazing, I come at least three times a month. It's just a nice place to come and relax and enjoy great breakfast food.

Twig and Leaf is not what it used to be. I hadn't been since it reopened under new ownership, but I've been hearing the buzz about authentic Guatemalan cuisine. Apparently, it's served everyday except Tuesday. You'll have to get your taco Tuesday fix elsewhere and save this place for every other day of the week. I had the Guatemalan taco platter. I've heard it's the most authentic around. I haven't been to Guatemala to be able to confirm those accolades, but I can confirm that these tacos are phenomenal. My husband and children ordered chicken and pork tacos and our experience was both affordable and a crowd pleaser. There were multiple sauces available on the table, but my favorite was the one on my plate. It was spicy, but not so spicy that it overpowered the flavor of the tacos themselves. It was super fresh tasting with cilantro and chunks of avocado. The meat portions were generous. It's hard to imagine the meals I had decades ago were from the same location now serving these tacos. If you're a Louisville native and haven't been back, it's time to give this place another try. The atmosphere has changed. The food has changed. The service has changed. All for the better. We look forward to putting this restaurant in our regular rotation!

New ownership and new menu. The authentic tacos are really quite delicious. Tried and assortment - chicken, pastor, chorizo and all were extremely tasty, mixing zesty flavors with fresh veggies. The Tostados and Taquitos made for a lot of food, but were delicious in their own. Queso isn't on the menu yet but they serve it so be sure to ask - it has a kick that adds another layer to an already good app. This is a big step uo from the old menu. The old school vibe is still similar but the new owners are incredibly friendly and warm. Encourage you to try it out!

It's crazy that this place doesn't have more stellar reviews than I see here. My experience was top notch! We had the papusas and empanadas, and I couldn't get enough of it. Perfectly seasoned and authentically prepared. Inexpensive, large potions. Service with a smile! Plus I can't resist a quaint diner setting like this. I can't wait to come back and sample every single thing on their Guatemalan menu.

I have been past this place many times as often as I have been on Bardstown Road and never came here until recently with a friend. They have changed their hours from 7am-3pm as of this review being posted, we basically came here for an early lunch since they close early. Street parking available, we went in at around 1-1:30 in the afternoon. Place was somewhat busy and there were a few empty tables, most of them hadn't been wiped off yet but, I'm giving the benefit of the doubt beings there was a counter/server and only one cook that we could see working. Coming in there is an overwhelming old building smell that I will say is unappealing but, this place is old so it is expected. We did find one table that looked somewhat clean and sat there. It did take a few minutes to be waited on. We both ordered the Single Twig which is a Single patty burger. I got seasoned fries and my friend got the crinkle. Now to the food. I will say the burger was well cooked which that's how we like it. Not the best burger out there but it was decent. Seasoned fries were delicious. We were both satisfied with the food and left full. My understanding they used to be open later but, I assume that there isn't enough help like it is most everywhere. I hope to see them open later at some point in time and hopefully I can come in earlier and try their breakfast that is served from open to close.

Bacon looks like it should be good. But it's burnt crispy and bland. The egg.. well that's a 2-egg scramble.

Tried twice in 4 years and the original experience was enough to put this off my list for years, but I came back for another shot. I've always heard you don't come here for the quality of the food, but you come here for a cheap breakfast that could barely shrink your wallet. This time, as the last, the bacon was over-crisp and crumbly, my scrambled egg was more like an omelette shell and bland, and the OJ tasted much like Sunny D. I'm not sure what's going on here, but with all the breakfast options in town that are amazing, inexpensive, and near this one, I'll be skipping it for another 4 years. On the plus side, the service staff were very friendly, prompt, and considerate, but that's not enough to offset the food experience.

I ate all of it and there was 6 French toast

They have everything the food was grate nice and hot and ready recommend best place and when I mean everything they got everything it's grate food and service 10/10 and there was 6 French toast and it was grate

Twig and Leaf now has a Mexican/ Guatemalan menu after 4 pm. The food is amazing, portions large and the prices are very low! .We usually try to eat at different places all the time, but the food is so great here we've been back 3 times in 2 weeks. Everything we've had has been wonderfully flavored; their green and red sauces are the bomb. My favorite so far is the campechano gorditos. Highly recommend!

From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm and friendly hello. Everyone was very kind and the food was the perfect feeling of diner comfort food. The setting is quaint, dive-ish, and simplistic. The perfect place for weekend breakfast. Great price point and delicious food. I can't wait to visit again.

Made conversation with customers and didn't seem rushed/stressed. There are two rooms with tables but people kept coming in and out. It got busy ish but not slammed. Some were in groups and some came alone. Also saw a few folks do take out orders. Honestly, I would love to come back! The breakfast looked good. Parking lot was a little strange. I don't expect an entire separate box of fries, but more than 10 would be nice- especially for $4! They were sure to tack on a $1 service charge as well, even though I was picking the food up. Burger Girl used to be a Louisville classic, but lately that's come to mean less "don't skip this if your life depends on it" and more "renowned for their awful food." As time goes on, I am honestly becoming more and more disappointed with Burger Girl. The point of a greasy spoon is to be cheap, quick, and filling, and Burger Girl misses on all of those fronts. For their prices I could go to a nicer restaurant with better food and a better experience. Honestly, as inflation continues to soar and quality continues to plummet, I find myself asking why I even bother going out, when I know I'll just be disappointed in the end. This might be the last straw for me, at least when it comes to Burger Girl. It just doesn't feel worth it anymore.

The seasoned fries were very good with a definite note of garlic. The size of the fries order is plenty petite though. Shake flavors are limited to chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. I ordered a chocolate shake and it was pleasantly thick and tasty. We also got some oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies to take home. They were of the most and chewy varietal (I prefer crispy) but were still good. Burger Boy has a digital station that allows you to select music to be played in the restaurant. It was not the best food in the world but the food here tastes like home to me. Just really well seasoned and old school. Now here's my issue. This establishment had me wait almost 90 minutes on a 92 degree day (WITH MY FIVE YEAR OLD) for two meals. They had already taken my money, otherwise I would have booked it. Here's what I ate: 1. Fried Pork Chop with mashed potaotes (they were out of potato salad) and greens, gravy on the side 2. Ribs with macaroni and cheese and Pinto Beans I also got a blackberry cobbler. I checked in after 30 minutes and they weren't sympathetic. I looked at these reviews later and saw that someone said the customer service at this establishment was hilarious and they were not kidding. Here's how everything tasted: Pork Chop: very flavorful, glad I got fried and not smothered for texture reasons Mashed potatoes: good and real, but nothing to write home about Ribs: They were okay. tender. tasted like they were boiled and that's not my preference...they were also swimming in sauce. I feel like ribs should be able to stand up without the sauce and I was not sure this could happen here. The bbq sauce is part of the dish for them. Greens: overly salted, underseasoned...they needed to be eaten by the pinto beans Pinto beans: absolutely no salt--would not order again Macaroni and cheese: this is the creamy kind, not the baked kind (not my preference. Gravy: excellent Blackberry Cobbler: FIVE STARS. Delicious, buttery, so tasty. I went home and tried to make one. Seriously: no notes here. It is a must try. Charging 2 dollars for a cup of kool-aid is insane. with this kind of customer services, it would be nice if they threw that sugar water in for free. I skipped it, but just thought I would mention if you plan on trying to have some for nostalgic reasons. I haven't had any in about 30 years and I was planning on it but not when I saw the price tag. I live in Illinois, but if I ever do visit again I will call my order in, go sight seeing and then pick up my food. Don't bring your kids to this establishment unless they have confirmed your order is ready!

First off - I love this local gem, and I think it was just an odd/off night. It started with a scary trip to the ladies room, and it was just a mess. The first part of our evening (meeting friends) was great. Cocktails were tasty and the music was vibing. Fried pickles were AWESOME. At one point, the bartender changed the record and it became crazy loud - we literally couldn't hear the person 2 feet away speaking. A member of our party got up and asked the bartender if he could turn it down (asked politely), and was ignored. Literally ignored - bartender looked at my friend and the just walked away (and not to turn down the music). Next cocktail was AWFUL... food came out, and it was hot but nothing great; fries were oily. Churros were tough and overcooked as well. Our server (a younger woman) was attentive and friendly, and that was the highlight of our visit. She did turn down the music when we asked (and after another table I believe also asked). It wasn't a busy night, and I love the vinyl vibe and cool venue - we will come back and try again, but when 3 cocktails, an appetizer, and entree cost close to $100 before tip (for 2 - our friends were the same, so $200 for a table), you really need to be on point and provide solid service.
