Took my daughter out to lunch. I had not been to The Cafe in a few years. It's such a cool spot with beautiful ambiance and artwork. We were shown to our seat and drink orders taken promptly. Everything on the menu sounded so good it was hard to choose. I settled on eggs Benedict with a side of grits. . My daughter had a burger. I had coffee and she had a latte. The coffee was pretty good and she enjoyed her latte. Her burger looked really good and she said it was and ate it all. I enjoyed my eggs Benedict although the Canadian bacon was kind of dry, the eggs and hollandaise sauce were perfect and very flavorful. The star for me were the grits. I asked for cheese with them as I usually do to add flavor but they would been great even without it. They were warm, creamy and full of flavor. Probably some of the best I've ever eaten. Our server was friendly, fast and accurate. We spent about $40 before tip. Great experience and we would return if in the area.

My latest visit to The Cafe was a lunch order for the BBLT - a BLT with bourbon bacon jam. I requested mine on the side and for me, that was a good decision. A little goes a long way. The bacon was thick and a great portion. The fries are thin and super salty. I'd recommend a different side to go with your sandwich. I noticed a pick two for a salad, soup, or sandwich. It included a drink, which made it a good deal. The menu offers several breakfast and sandwich items, plus bakery, salads, and sides. Plenty of seating and I enjoyed the brightness of the main room with its high ceilings. We had a table of 40+ people. The food came out together and our server hustled with a smile.

Have not been here since they moved into the new surroundings. Yes, been a bit! Super cute on the inside. Bright and spacious. Plus they take reservations for breakfast!! My favorite thing! Service was great and to my surprise there was live music starting up... Note sure if that's regular but they were great...kind of a jazz/michael buble sounding gig. They were great. Lots of different offerings for. breakfast! Would definitely recommend this place.

This place is always busy! Love that it is connected to Louisville Stoneware. Food is always delicious and they give you great portions. They have remodeled over the last few years and it is beautiful inside. Great downtown Louisville staple for lunch and dinner! Staff is friendly. Food comes out quick. Lots of seating inside and seating outside too! Plenty of parking nearby!

A group of us went here for an early dinner before going to a ballet. There are a couple rooms. One was a very large open space/hall which was decorated for Christmas. The second room is more of a bar setting and was a warmer setting. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant, so they were only seating in the second room. Our server was good but the food was less than desirable. I ordered the Pan Roasted Chicken which was fine. I ordered Brussel Sprouts and green beans as my 2 sides. The brussel sprouts were a little too greasy for me. Someone else ordered the Hot Brown which was also fine but he said it tasted like it was reheated. A couple people ordered mashed potatoes and said they tasted like instant potatoes. Someone else ordered the Pimento Cheese Chicken Sandwich. The cheese did not look like it was handmade, which is what they claim on the menu. It looked like package cheese and also looked like it had been sitting for a while. I don't think I will be going back here for a while. They are not the same as when they used to be in the little house across the street.

Casual ambiance with a friendly atmosphere. The waitress was excellent. Friendly and polite. Got a Bloody Mary that was out of this world extremely good then I got sausage biscuits and gravy which came with butter milk biscuits and they were yummy especially with the sausage gravy with two eggs on top let me tell you it was so delicious that I would go back there

The food is always pretty good but service is ALWAYS slow as heck. Always! I've been probably 8 times? Be prepared to be there an hour even if it's just two of you at lunch. I keep coming back because the food is yummy and the portion sizes are large. Their updated event area is so cute. Today I got the pick 2. My "half" a sandwich was giant! The side salad was also quite large. I love the Edwardian. The walnut wheat bread is so tasty. I also like to order the baguette with butter. Their homemade desserts are tasty as well.

Stopped in for a quick bite and to pick up some cupcakes for the birthday girl The welcome and service was exceptional as always!!

    The BBLT

Nice, well lit atmosphere. BBLT was a good portion size, & the bacon & bacon jam were great. The tater tots were perfectly crispy & warm. The hickory-smoked wings had a strong smoky flavor & were pretty crispy.

The service has gone down farther and the food let's just say I would not pay a third of what I did for what we got. The oatmeal was super dry and not cooked. The breakfast sandwich was on a day old cold biscuit with half cooked bacon. This is two bad trips here in a row. That equals a no return for us. We used to love this place but they have gone down hill and since my last review they have declined even more. So if you are thinking of going here save your money. There are plenty of places that are way better.

I have always been to this place for either brunch or lunch but I tried it for dinner for the first time. The dinner theme is Southern comfort food so expect fried green tomatoes fried catfish things like that. Overall I thought the meal was extremely heavy and oily. But I believe that is to be expected for any kind of Southern food. I walked into the cafe thinking that it would be an extension of its brunch and lunch, but I'm not so sure about their dinner options anymore. Maybe it was an off day? I would definitely like to give them a second chance.

We were looking for a great place to have lunch when getting ready to leave Louisville, when I stumbled upon the listing on my maps app. The menu looked great! Breakfast and lunch offerings--looked great! We got there, and it was a clean space, moderately busy with an early lunch crowd. We were seated and waited on Crystal ( I think!) promptly. I ordered the Early American sandwich and hubs had the Rubino. My husband w thoroughly enjoyed his while mine --well was ok. The French bread looked like it hadn't been cooked at all. I was stunned a server would even bring something that obviously uncooked to the table. My fries were almost cold and were beginning to shrivel. I was in no mood to complain and send it back. I was hungry and tired and merely wanted get on the road head back home. But lesson learned, we won't be returning.

    Eggs Benedict. Potatoes were awesome.

Based on that video, my expectations were pretty high. My wife and I made the trip out there, and I ordered the Reuben while she ordered the Turkey Reuben. The restaurant itself was clean and nice enough, although nothing particularly memorable. Their homemade chips were definitely the highlight of the meal--they were fresh, crispy, and probably the best part of our visit. Unfortunately, everything else fell short of what we were expecting. The Reuben lacked the bold, savory flavor that makes a great Reuben memorable. I was hoping for something that reminded me of the oversized, flavor-packed deli sandwiches you'd find in New York City, but this just wasn't it. In fact, I honestly think the Reuben at Jason's Deli has more flavor and is a better sandwich overall. Service also left something to be desired. While ordering drinks, we asked what they had available since they weren't listed on the main menu. Instead of simply pointing us in the right direction, the employee gestured toward a small drink menu sitting on the counter and made us feel like we should have already known it was there. As first-time customers, that wasn't a great first impression. Another thing that made the experience uncomfortable was an employee who continually walked around the dining room, clearing tables while closely watching people who were still eating. I understand keeping the restaurant clean, but it felt like we were being rushed, and several times it seemed like he was hovering over diners rather than just checking on the dining area. To top it off, I ended up with heartburn shortly after leaving, which didn't help my overall impression of the meal. I really wanted to love this place because the online videos made it look like a hidden gem with giant, authentic deli sandwiches. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to the hype. While the homemade chips were excellent, the sandwich, service, and overall atmosphere just didn't justify making another trip. Sadly, this is one place I don't plan on visiting again.

Several people recommended the spicy Thai shrimp pizza. It was just okay. I did not taste any Thai flavor. It was basically a cheese pizza with diced shrimp and a drizzle of buffalo sauce. I didn't care for the crust either. It ended up being a $70 dinner that was just okay. If we go back, it'll probably be for the empanadas or fries. It's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to accessibility. As a person with a disability, parking can make or break a dining experience. Unfortunately, there was no handicap parking available, and there were no nearby parking spots open when I arrived. I ultimately had to park in a hotel lot about a block away, which cost $25 for just two hours. Not only was the cost frustrating, but the additional distance was challenging given my mobility needs. The food was phenomenal and absolutely worth trying, but I do hope accessibility becomes part of the conversation for future guests. For those without mobility concerns, this may not be an issue, but for disabled patrons, it's something important to consider before visiting.

Because it was bigger than my head (ok, maybe this is a slight exaggeration but not by much) i had to disassemble it to eat it in stages. First off were the waffle fries and I found them to be tasty, crunch and fluffy in all the right spots. Once the taters were off I cut that biggie baby in 8 'Oh My Danwich' slices. Y'all, I rarely find myself at a loss for words, even my high dollar, 10 letter ones, but I can't fill this space with all the adjectives I would want in describing this sanwich that would make you want breakfast for every meal. The sausage had that savory salty pork taste that makes you happy you're not a vegetarian with an egg slice that was fluffier than my German Shepherd's downy fur. The cheese even had a nice pull with the topper being their chive aioli. And that sandwich was just the beginning because I also ordered a Strawberry Cruffin, Bourbon Peach hand pie and a raspberry Danish to have as late night snacks. The handpie didn't do it for me. The peaches lacked flavor that I found myself asking bestie if she wanted it because I was jiat going to toss in the trash after just 2 bites. The strawberry mascarpone cream in the cruffin was silky smooth and berrylicious with the croissant being flaky and fluffy. It was almost like a sweet and savory after school snack. The kind of bakery item that keeps you coming back for more. And more. And the piece de resistance was the raspberry Danish. I've lived my 61 years learning to never turn down raspberry anything and today, my raspberry research paid off. One hundred percent tenfold.
