Shoutout to Ewa Pantry for housing difficult and hard-to-find alcoholic offerings! I knew this place was here, however, I wasn't aware of what they sold and offered until I was doing some research on some local beers I wanted to purchase but didn't want to drive all the way to town. 'Lo and behold - Ewa Pantry's name showed up, not once, but twice. I wanted to have some friends over and wanted to pick-up some delicious, high-quality beer selections for us to enjoy. Since I work in Kalaeloa - I went on my lunch break to avoid Ewa five o'clock traffic to pick-up 3 four-packs of some of my favorites and one try. They are located deep in Ewa Beach, in a shopping center across from KFC. The parking lot is a little tight considering how many businesses are there. However, if you can't find parking, you can park on the side of the street without difficulty. The store is a little tight which makes the shopping experience not as comfortable, however, I recognize that they are trying to maximize their space to offer more selections - which I highly respect. Attempted to walk in to purchase a whiskey for a friend that took the day off to help me out with some things. However, I was stopped upon entry and told that my mask was unacceptable. It's not a homemade mask and I explained that it's CDC compliant. I guess the worker didn't like the look of it and still refused to allow me to enter. I've felt sorry for small businesses during this time of ever-changing mandates as I know that so many of them are struggling to constantly adapt and modify their practices. In this situation, it's the employee's right to refuse my business. The arrogance of this individual, to make the determination that the mask I was using somehow doesn't conform to what the government determined is acceptable, is what bothers me. I won't be recommending this business to friends and family and won't be going back even when the masks are no longer required. read more

This place has it all. I was looking for a very hard to find digestif liquor made from rhubarb. GOOD LUCK! Tamara fine wine and liquors is the closest decent store relative to where I live in Kaneohe, but they have maybe 10% of what Ewa pantry has to offer. I keep a running list of things I need for my home bar on my phone. Then every once in a while when I'm in Ewa I stop here and they have it all. Tons of great liquor options and really interesting candies. My husband found very reasonably priced higher end liquor that would retail on mainland for about the same price. When I first moved to this island, I stayed with friends in Ocean Pointe for a few months and my friend was the first person to bring me to this place. He said he like the type of ice cubes that they sold here. lol. It went well with his whiskeys he tells. I thought ice was ice, but he was very bourgeois. I remember walking and glancing through the cramped aisles of liver poisons, and thought to myself damn what do these guys not have in here. I never knew someday I'd be back to explore what they had to offer. Fast forward a few years to a week ago and I'm in the search of a lychee liqueur for my Lychee Sangria mix. There was only a few places on island that said they had it in stock. Since I now reside in Ewa Beach, I decided to pay Ewa Pantry a visit. I could've drove down the busy freeway to Pearl Ridge area for my other alcohol store that holds some of my favorite products. But for that short period of time that I had. I didn't want to fight the traffic. I had spent a few dollars more than I'd usually pay for a bottle like this. But it saved me the time and the gas for just a bottle of this hard to find at your regular grocery store lychee liqueur. Anyways long story short, there's many different selections. Price is a bit more, but it's minutes away. It's quick and easy to make your purchase. Very convenient for me. To be fair to Ewa Pantry, they have the most comprehensive selection of spirits you could hope to find on the west side of the island of Oahu. Typically I'm a huge fan of this. The big drawback to me is the prices they attempt (and apparently succeed) to sell their highly allocated spirits for. Many of the harder to get items are hundreds of dollars above msrp. If you are willing to pay that then for the most part, this place should have what you're looking for. It's fairly easy to look up msrp's online and seeing something hundreds of dollars above what it's supposed to be just doesn't feel right to me. read more

I am super disappointed in your store. I emailed a few days ago and asked if you sold "Climax Moonshine". I got a reply from Danny H. saying "yes we do." I drove all the way from Honolulu for this ONE item, that was supposed to be a Christmas present. I wasted my morning and more importantly my time because I was told the wrong answer! What also annoyed me was when I walked into the store and asked where the moonshine was the lady directed me to the beer aisle. I knew I was doomed from that minute on. I ended up with 4 different beers, from my everyday drinker of Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout to a new-to-me Japanese stout. The aisles and aisles and aisles of alcohol were impressive. The pricing was a little bit high, but the convenience of having all the selection made up for it. As an example I was in a grocery a couple of days later and saw Belching Beaver for about $1 or so less. But their stout selection paled in comparison. Their prices are a bit high, but it's because they can. They are one of the only places to buy alcohol besides busy Longs and crazy ass Foodland in Ewa Beach. I almost feel like I'm in a bar somewhere in Asia. The women who work there all dress alike with matching liquor brand t-shirts. And they appear to only be nice to male customers. Not friendly to me, ever. They also have their young child in the store, who I remember being in a playpen in its younger days behind the cashier area...that was weird. They have an impressive variety of liquor and wine from floor to ceiling. It's more of a convenience for us to pick up beer & cigarettes, but a I know we could save money by going elsewhere. When the Sam Adams Infinium was released most of the places had limited the amount of bottles a person could buy. I was able to buy an entire case of the stuff. Not to mention a 2009 Sam Adams Utopias almost a year and a half after it was released! Keep in mind that only 30 bottles of the Utopias are released to Hawaii. This last trip I ended up scoring another Utopias a 2011 release! Not to mention the clerk remembered me from the last time I was there around Christmas last year.
