Was honestly surprised by the high quality of the food given that it's located within a supermarket. Lots of creative appetizers and mains. Sticky Ribs and Brussels were our favorite appetizers; the Scallion Bread was unfortunately underwhelming. All of the mains were well prepared, although I'd most highly recommend the Butterfish and the Spicy Garlic Noodles with Shrimp. Service is friendly and relatively timely (for Hawaii). Honestly a great spot overall!

After my forst time dining here, I brought my family back a couple of weeks later. Sooo good! Very easy to make reservations on their website. In the words of Joey Tribiani "ambiance good, food good, coffee drinks good, service good, vibe good". Proteins were nicely sized and meal portions were large. So impressed by Foodland. If you think this is good, try their restaurant, Redfish in Waikiki at the Wayfinder Hotel. It is a must! The only drawback is the bathrooms are not close by. You need to walk through Foodland's deli and produce which I didn't mind and was likely intentional because it led to shopping after lunch!

Got here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed! Didn't make a reservation beforehand, but luckily they were able to accommodate a party of 3 with little to no wait time. Booth seating available along with 4-top tables throughout the establishment that can be combined for bigger parties. Our server was very kind, and cordial. We opted for the lechon style brussels and spicy garlic noodles (this was a snack before our dinner at another establishment). The brussels were an interesting flavor. I would've liked more flavor coming through the overall seasoning of this dish. I was expecting salty, sweet and vinegary, but it missed the mark for me. As for the spicy garlic noodles, this was flavorful, and very rich/buttery. My friend and I split the egg, while the third person in our party opted against it because she didn't care for runny eggs. Perhaps it's a good thing the third person didn't partake in the egg, because as my friend and I were driving to our next destination, we had to make a pit stop to use the restroom, as it seems that something didn't quite sit well with either of our tummies. The 3rd person who didn't eat the egg was completely fine, so not sure if it was the egg or the richness of the dishes. Overall, I would eat here again, though I would try something else on the menu.

Checked out this restaurant, Mahi'ai Table, over in Foodland Farms at Ka Makana. Everything we tried was delicious!

Got there in time for happy hour, which ended at 6pm. We ordered the mushroom pizza, shrimp and pork dumplings, spicy garlic noodles, and half pound burger. Everything tasted great and the mushroom pizza is a must if you go. Service was good and someone came around to fill water about 3 times. There was also live music on Friday night and I totally did not feel like I was in a grocery store lol

Ahhh... FINALLY!! I've been wanting to comeback since I've been here back in December with friends for a Christmas get together. Dinner: Our Mahi'ai table consisted of: -Braised short ribs on a bed garlic rice. (For me) -Half pound burger with fries. (For the husband) Dessert: Came for the Kulolo Haupia Sundae, unfortunately it wasn't available. Hopefully next time. I ordered the Kona coffee mud pie with chocolate sauce. $11 Great Choice! It's Chocolate & Kona coffee gelato, chocolate cake, warm chocolate sauce and topped with puffed rice crunch. Perfect for sharing. Everything we ate was delicious & satisfying. If you're in the area, I suggest Mahi'ai Table. Facts: -Support local & to name a few farmers such as Mari's Garden, Ho Farms and MA'O Organic Farms. See the menu for ALL the local businesses you'll be supporting. -Live local entertainment. -Reservations can be made on open table or call the restaurant directly 808-693-7408 **Suggestion for restaurant menu, pictures of each item to see what the items on the menu look like for a non-yelper.

Pau Hana at Mahi'ai Table! We ordered the wings, fish tacos, a fresh green salad, and fries to share. Everything tasted so fresh and the flavors were on point. Great vibe for winding down after work--will absolutely be back for round two!

Called in for reservations in 15 minutes but they said earliest is 30 minutes. Got there early and the restaurant is empty with only a few tables seated. Been here 3 years ago and they did the same thing. Fully staffed lots of food servers working, I can't understand that. Our server was good and attentive. He gave us recommendations. This time we had the Ali'i Mushroom Pizza which was really good but I couldn't taste the white truffle oil. That makes the pizza pop. Also the Anykind Crunch Salad. We ordered this last visit, but this time the mochi crunch was stale and the portion was alot smaller:( The hand-cut fries was good, it reminded me of a burger place right around the corner. Looks burnt but nice and soft inside, very tasty. Also had a Pineapple/tea drink which was refillable and good, very tasty too. We ended up ordering the Kona Coffee Mud Pie. Looks traditional with a different light cookie crunch base. It was just okay but nice to end with a sweet tooth from the savory salted dishes.

Located inside of Foodland at Ka Makana Ali'i This restaurant is really delicious - a must try. Often not something you may consider, but they have all of the freshest ingredients, from a top quality grocery store! Great service, Chuck Chuck was amazing. Others stopped by the table as well, to ensure waters were filled and to just show aloha. Check out the delicious photos!

Ask the Community - Mahi’ai Table

Will you be open for Thanksgiving lunch this year?

Mahi'ai table will be open at 10:30am. Last seating is at 2pm. Reservations are recommended. They are offering a prefixed Thanksgiving menu as well as their regular lunch menu.

    Is breakfast only on weekends?

    Yes only Saturday and Sunday

How many people does the family style feed?

Depending on how much you eat, I would say 2-4. If you are getting a bunch of dishes and everyone just has a little, it would be good for up to 5 people. If you just get one dish, then I would say 2-3.

    Do you have live music?

    Yes, they do.

    Are reservations required or helpful?

Not required but definitely recommended. They are on the OpenTable app if you have that and you can also make any special requests that way too.

The atmosphere is open, breezy, and always buzzing, especially when the band starts up. The menu leans heavy on local comfort favorites appetizers, island‑style entrées, and cocktails that go down easy. Portions are solid, flavors are consistent, and the drinks come out fast even when the place is packed. Moani's happy hour is one of the best parts -- perfect for grabbing a drink before dinner or chilling after shopping. Based on current listings and typical offerings at Moani's Kapolei location, happy hour usually includes: Discounted signature cocktails, Beer specials, Reduced‑price pupus like wings, fries and more. Moani is known for its live music, featuring local artists almost nightly. It's lively but not overwhelming -- you can still talk story at your table without yelling. The vibes are good with live music but the music is LOUD so be prepared you have to talk pretty loud to hear the people at your table. The gluten free menu is available but it is limited. The server was fantastic about answering questions and honestly she was the best part of the meal. I ordered the edamame and shrimp fried rice my mom ordered the Caesar salad. The portions are LARGE plenty for 3-4 people to split let alone two. Caesar salad was standard and good from what my mom told me. Edamame- I probably would not order this again. It was fine, but I didn't love the seasoning blend on it personally there are other things I would be interested in trying. Shrimp fried rice- I was really excited to try this and I was really hoping that it would be excellent and it was OK. The shrimp was cooked well and the fried rice just felt like it needed some more butter and it was lacking some of the things that make fried rice, fried rice like a fried egg so overall not my favorite dish. The gluten-free menu was pretty limited on options for me to try so I would probably go to somewhere else to try and get fried rice in the future.

This establishment is fairly large and have a regular seating tables area and a bar area. The bar area was pretty popping with people watching the on-going football game. (they do have tvs all over the bar so you should be able to watch in most seats. It is fairly cold in here, like I was kind of freezing and had to grab a jacket from the car. Our server was super friendly and we got our orders in: We ordered: * Brick Oven "Super" Pizza: 7/10. We ordered this without black olives because I do not like black olives. This was okay. There were many toppings but since there were so many, there were much less of each topping (which meant that you'd really only get a tiny sprinkle of like beef for example). I felt like the pizza was just mediocre. The crust was unique, a twisted shape but it just made the crust more dense and not as enjoyable to eat for me as I liked a fluffier doughy crust. I also felt that there weren't enough cheese for the amount of toppings on this pizza. * Pepperoni, Sausage, and Jalapenos Pizza: 7.2/10. My friend ordered this so I didn't really eat as much of it. It was ok, same complaints regarding the crust. I think due to it having less toppings the cheese ratio was much better this time around. * Buffalo (Hot) Wings: 9/10, my friend said the main star of the show would be the wings and he was not lying! These wings were large and meaty compared to the tiny wings you'd often get at bars and most establishments. They were fried to perfection and tossed in the chosen sauce. The buffalo was perfect and I enjoyed it with ranch. * Lemon Pepper: 8.2/10, same positives, I just don't care for the lemon pepper flavor. * Garlic Parm: 9.2/10: same positives, I love the garlicky flavor of this wing along with the cheesiness from the parm. * Chicken Alfredo Pasta: 4/10. We do NOT recommend this. The chicken quality was terrible, it was like stringy. We think it is the premade chicken meant to be shredded for pizzas recooked into the pasta. The alfredo sauce was also not very good, just tasted poorly made and overly peppered. Honestly I would totally come back for the wings and only the wings. Recommend this spot to grab some wings and watch a game with some friends!

We asked if there was outside seating as the inside was already crowded and he checked and there was a table ready for us. Our waitress came gave us menus, didnt ask for our drink order than left. She came back maybe about 5-8 mins later to take our order, not before we requested if we could get water. Fastforward, like i stated at the beginning it was crowded on the inside when we walked in, well we get our food and mid way thru realize that our drinks were never filled, no one came out to ck on us or the other tables at that matter. We ordered extra carrots and celery that never came out, at that point I was like forget it. We needed boxes and refill of water since NONE came throughout our whole dinner. I decided to go get the boxes and request water, tell me why when I walked inside, the only table that was occupied was the party that was there in the corner. The rest of the place was empty and tell me why ALL the workers were literally just standing near the bar/kitchen. they see me walking in, no one seems to think "oh we havent checked on them" they waited till I approached them and asked for a box and water. Up until me going inside I gave them grace because like I mentioned I knew they were busy. But once I walked in and seen every single staff just standing there, I was disappointed. The food was good, but lets just say, the customer service was not it. Glad I got my fixed, as I havent eaten at Brick Oven in years, it will probably years before I come back....

Located in O'Toole's Pub on Nu'uanu in downtown/Chinatown, there are tons of great options for dinner before the show, and places to drink afterwards. I must admit, since moving here I've experienced quite a few comedy shows, namely improv, and I wasn't impressed. Everything about Jose Dynamite was on the other side of the coin. My date Kristine C. and I both enjoyed laughing together! The strength of this show is the varied "& Friends" that change from week to week. As I've only been once, I only got to experience one group. I know I'll be going back to see more! I liked the different skill levels and backgrounds of the performers; they all had something to say and different ways of expressing their comedic views on the world. I loved the differences between the locals and transplants; they all see Hawai'i in such a funny way. I like how Jose himself gives different aspiring comedians a forum to practice with a live audience. The length of the show was also perfect; well worth the money, but not too long that we were ready to go before it ended. The host kept it flowing between comedians too, with his own brand of jokes. Jose Dynamite was hilarious. He had an air of professionalism and was naturally funny. I liked how he tried to learn the audience's names and where people were coming from. He, and the other comedians, were very approachable and friendly after the show. They were all clearly having a fun time. The room itself was very nice, located at the back of O'Toole's pub. They have bar service as the comedy show progresses, or you can bring your own drinks over from the bar. Unlike the main bar area, this room is non-smoking, so no need to worry about that if you aren't a fan. The air conditioning was comfortable. Restrooms are right outside the entrance door. It's an intimate setting, everyone gets up close with the comedians, which makes personal interaction part of the fun. Even watching the rest of the audience was entertaining: the quiet nervous people, the happy people, and the inevitable heckler. Take advantage of the Yelp deal if you're thinking of coming with a larger group. Also, use the free dessert coupon at Restaurant Epic up the street after the show. Street parking is free after 6:30pm, but it's a better and safer bet to use one of the public Chinatown garages that cost $3 flat for the evening. For tourists, it's also easy to get here by bus or cab. If you're a fan of the Irish pubs in town, use the free Shamrock shuttle from two locations in Waikiki to get here safely while you drink. Im not usually fond of burgers but wife has wanted a burger since maybe Sonic's opened but we…read moreweren't ready to commit to going since the wait was likely still long for Sonic's. Also, did I really want a Sonic burger? The answer was an easy no. Did a quick search and found this place which I had no idea existed but now I know they exist in an excellent way. People come here to drink, I'm not a drinker but there was plentynof alcoholic beverages on the back wall for your choice that it could be overwhelming. This is a bar with indoor seating and a World Cup game was on. I think there was outdoor seating but it looked like a different restaurant to me. We ordered dirty fries, a sweet tea, the simple smash, village smash, and sweet tea. I have to admit, I'm overly harsh on burgers but from the first bite, this hit right to me. The dirty fries were good also. We washed down that salt with their mildly sweet sweet tea. That's the only miss for me as I like deep sweet tea thanks to some time spent in Mississippi earlier in life. Their food put themselves on my radar so we will definitely be back as we didn't even scratch the other meats they had on menu.

Everyone ordered the same burger. The village smash burger…read morewith extra patty + cheese! Stack analyst: 7/10 This smash burger was solid. Crispy toasted bun, super thin patties with an awesome sear and crunchy edges. One of the few burgers lately I didn't feel needed extra salt. Could've used a little more garlic aioli, but overall it was delicious. Definitely would get it again __________________________________________________ Double stack Daddy: 9/10 Double patty done right. Crispy edges, juicy beef, perfectly melted cheese, and every bite was packed with flavor without feeling overdone. AIOLI WAS simple, fresh, and exactly what a smash burger should be. Definitely worth the stop if you're craving a legit burger. __________________________________________________ Braddah Big Buns: 7/10 Shmall kine dry, need more sauce, patty too wide for da buns. But buggah still action __________________________________________________ Grilled Apostle: 8.5/10 Order the Village Smash Burger will extra patty & cheese. Very flavorful, but not as juicy as I would like it. Bun was crisp, bacon added an extra touch to the burger making it more than average, delicious! __________________________________________________ Captain Messy Hands, Keeper of the Drip: 7/10 stepping into the smash burger arena for the very first time. Ordered the Village Smash Burger Double Angus patties, cracked pepper crust, mustard, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onions, American cheese, and their signature Village sauce. This thing came out looking clean, sharp, and locked in. First bite? I finally understood the smash burger hype. The patties were thin, crispy around the edges, and perfectly executed the way a smash burger should be. That cracked pepper crust gave every bite a nice little punch, and the sear on the beef carried the whole experience. No sloppy grill work here! This burger knew exactly what it wanted to be. Now let's address The drip. Or in this case... the lack of it. This burger leaned more dry than messy. Not Sahara desert dry and not dry in a bad way, just controlled. Precise. Balanced. The bun actually deserves respect here because it stayed soft, moist, and held together from first bite to last bite without collapsing under pressure. Structurally elite. But CMH lives for chaos. I like burgers that need a stack of napkins nearby. Burgers where sauce hits the wrist. Burgers that fight back. This wasn't that type of burger. And honestly? I still respect it. Final Verdict...A clean, well executed smash burger with serious crust game. Not a drippy monster, but a strong introduction to the smash burger world. __________________________________________________ The Premium Purists: 9.5/10 The Village Smash Burger is a trendy modern burger that still hits with nostalgic deluxe flavors. I was very impressed by this burger. To me it was luxury in every bite! The balance of flavors from the beef, seasoning, sauce and LTO was on point. Buns stayed solid throughout the entire experience. It's a smash so the patties were a little drier but to me the flavors made up for the lack of juice.
