Too many situations in my life would be simplified if I had glasses instead of hassling with contacts. I didn't know where to go (and screw my doctor's office; their cheapest pair was $200! Cheapest!) but my Mom recently went to Eyemart and got TWO pairs of glasses for LESS than $100! I went to check it out. I found lens I loved almost right away. They have a huge selection, but it's organized well so I didn't feel overwhelmed. (I get anxiety in stores very easily. None here at all.) I saw a sale of 2 pair for $50, but I splurged and found 2 pair for $150 after a simple rebate that went straight through when I mailed it in. They were a little busy, so I had to wait about 20min for my turn with an employee, but by the time it was my turn I had my lens and what I wanted so the transaction process was quick. The employee didn't push add-ons on me after I rejected them. She also didn't make me feel rushed, stupid, and was insanely nice to me. I did pick some anti-glare and scratch per frames, but I was happy to pay the up-charges. The warranty was explained to me well, and I left feeling great. Less than an hour later I received a text that my glasses were ready! Took 2 hours from start to finish. My husband went a few weeks later and got a pair. I then bought some sunglasses and had my prescription added to the lenses. THAT was an amazing $50 spent. Yeah! $50! My eyeglasses shop for life. And you bet I'm recommending it to everyone.

However, to say I had a good time for this particular visit is far from the truth. I've had Lasik, mind you, so I don't have much to my prescription. But I needed the Rx to order contacts online. After making me wait 10 minutes and me visibly getting annoyed, asking when I'll be seen, they make me wait another 5 until the doctor sees me. The doctor himself was nice, gave good information. But afterwards at check out I had to wait. And wait. And wait. For the doctor to do what? Send over my Rx from the other room? I wrote down my email so they could send it because I couldn't wait longer. The WHOLE DAY PASSES and still nothing. I paid 100 dollars for these tests for the *SOLE* reason to get this Rx and I don't get it. I call again the next day to complain and they claim they didn't have my email. Bullshit. Get out of here with that crap. There's only a limited amount of people in that office so accountability cannot be an issue. Only after threatening a chargeback did they finally email me my prescription. After getting a snarky front desk lady. Lovely. Either this place had a bad day, or they're running things poorly. Regardless, no customer likes to be at the receiving end of that incompetence. This place can kick the fattest rocks.

The tech was very nice and got all of the pre-work done with no problem. The technology at Dune Eye Consultants is fantastic. Everything seemed state of the art. We took images of the back of the eye without having to dilate. Dr. O'Neal was very considerate when we were testing my vision. I would definitely recommend going here if you need any sort of eye check up. I know I'll be back!

I…read moreremember the call vividly as I was asked if I needed an exam for both contacts and glasses in which I stated just glasses. I had also asked if my insurance was on file and if the benefits would apply towards glasses for this appointment. I went today as was told I was not on the schedule. I asked to talk to the office manager as this is the second time that I have gone for an appointment only to leave without being seen. The office manager (Misty) Dr. Hedquists wife told me how it was impossible for me to have an appointment, she was defensive, and argumentative with me when I explained that I had called weeks ago to schedule this. She somehow felt she was owed the right to get upset with me when I explained that I could not sit there and wait to be squeezed in, this is why I scheduled an appointment so I could be seen at the time I could make work. I did not have time to be "squeezed in". She also felt the need to throw in my face that I had an appointment in Oct 2024 that was cancelled. That appointment was cancelled because I sat in the lobby for 45min past my appointment time and needed to leave to get my daughter from daycare. I explained this to Misty, she then continued arguing with me. I was amazed. Not the smallest amount of concern came from her. Dr.Hedquist has always been great which is why I have been a patient for many years, the staff there has always been pleasant and helpful, the office is typically such an upbeat and pleasant place to visit. This was my first encounter with Misty, her overall lack of compassion and understanding was mind boggling. I will mention Dr. Hedquist called me later on and apologized for what happened and did seem genuinely concerned about the situation, which is the complete opposite of what I experienced when dealing with Misty at the office. To blame the patient, argue, and show no concern for your patient is not someone who is meant to be dealing with patients.
