I had an issue with my kitchen faucet. In particular, only the hot water pressure was really low. Not be a plumber, I was perplexed. So, I called Excellent Plumbing. The gentleman who took my call was very polite. He asked me a few questions and made some suggestions, which prompted me to point out that I've done some basic stuff, like install a faucet. Once he found that out he immediately told me not to waste my money on having them come out and he basically told me what I should do I went home, followed his recommendations, and fixed my problem. At the end of the day, Excellent Plumbing helped me help myself and it only cost a few minutes on the phone. We had an outside spigot that was broken. Our usual plumber told us it was too old to replace it and the parts are obsolete. We didn't buy that so we found Excellent Plumbing and Gino dispatched someone asap who replaced the spigot with no problem. In fact he had everything in the truck so no "obsolete" parts had to be ordered. Live and learn, lol! In addition, they installed a much-needed shutoff valve under the sink. One week later, pipes came loose while washing dishes and soaked my kitchen floor. You can see by the photo, the j bend of the p-trap was installed backwards and the strain on the pipe, after a week, worked it's way loose. Yes, I need to someday lower the wall pipe to get better drainage but to just swap out the garbage disposal, I shouldn't have leaks and be up sold a $1500 fix. It was not a pleasant phone call to Gino in the morning and I have had someone else fix my issue. Unfortunately, this will not be my go-to plumber. read more

I called Excellent Plumbing for a sump pump issue one evening, and Gino came out the next morning. Gino called before he arrived, saying he was going to be a bit on the early side, which was fine with me. He shows up, very friendly, very communicative. He inspects the pump, and unlike most contractors, explains the mechanics behind the issue. He was honest and told me that the pump was older, but wasn't pressing me into buying a new one. I opted out of buying new since my older one would do fine with some monitoring, and he kept his very friendly demeanor and left without charging me. The great reviews of Excellent Plumbing are true! Our realtor sent an urgent text saying we needed to fix an inoperable sump pump in the basement of my parent's house we are selling. With the melting snow, I needed someone to come out asap. I called 5 different plumbers and the earliest appointment I could get would be the next day or they would charge a crazy fee to come out the same day. Excellent Plumbing took my info and they called me back within 20 minutes and told me they could be at my parent's house in less than an hour. The guys were prompt (I was late, lol), they were professional-wore masks and shoe booties. The sump pump was dead & needed a new valve. They told me they could get the job done within 15 minutes and boom they got it done within that time. I thought I was going to be there forever and was in hurry to get my daughter to her practice-no worries with Excellent Plumbing! Before they left they made sure to explain what they did and made sure I saw the sump pump working-awesome! He was at my house by 10 AM, and not only was he on time, but he communicated when he was leaving, as well as when he would be here. I called Gino to replace my 13 year old water heater and a failing leaking saddle valve that was installed improperly a few years ago by a competitor. The pipe needed to be replaced due to the location of saddle valve which was next to a sweat joint. He came within a few hours of calling and did everything same day. He also discovered upon shutting off the main that it began to leak and swiftly stopped it. He patiently waited while I dragged my feet about whether or not to replace the main along with the other work, which I ultimately decided was the best idea. All in all, he did a great job with everything for a reasonable price and was also very personable and easy going. I highly recommend Gino and Excellent plumbing for any plumbing work you may need. Excellent plumbing popped up on my yelp feed when I searched for a plumber, got a solid quote, he said he'd be able to get to me the day of. Great great company - I had a clogged kitchen drain line and Gino was able to get to my place within 8 mins of calling! (granted he was just passing through the area so don't anticipate that to be instant result every time). Very competitively priced (for reference - the last plumber that I had unclog a pipe charged 3 times what Gino quoted and charged YIKES!), and good honest guy to work with. In and out within 30 mins. He was working with me on a number of scheduling options and "right now" option was excellent. He determined that the clog was about 30 feet away, plugged away and done! Gino and "Excellent Plumbing" is now first on my list for plumbing issues. Very pleased with his service and professionalism. EDIT: I just noticed Gino responded, so I wanted to clarify that I NEVER asked for our money back. I think he forgot the conversation was recorded. ;) I was hoping for him to come back out and look at our pipe because the issue was not resolved the first time, but I guess that wasn't an option. If any additional service needed to be provided, great, we'd pay for that too, but the problem is that a pipe that was "unclogged" in a bathroom that we do not use should not be clogged after 2.5 weeks of it being "unclogged". We do not care what needs to be done, we just want our basement to not flood! ORIGINAL POST: Two weeks ago we had flooding and called Exellent plumbing. Gino came out, said our pipe was clogged and "unclogged it", we paid him $700 and he was on his way. Last night, we had flooding again, in the same spot, but worse! Our entire downstairs basement carpet is ruined. I call Excellent plumbing, "Sorry I'm just the virtual receptionist, someone can call you tomorrow morning" Tomorrow!? We are in the middle of an emergency and their website says they are open 24 hours!?! My husband goes to home depot and rents a drain auger (for $26) and uncloggs it himself. Gino calls me at 8:20am the next day (12+ hours from my original call) " You called?"..... After I let him know what happned he responds with "I don't really care what you have to say, I unclogged it, so it's not my problem anymore. You need to get a scope done. It's not my fault." He just kept going on! I was extremely caught off guard by how combative he was. I was hoping for a solution not a temper tantrum. While he was continuing to yell at me, I let him know I was recording the coversation and he hung up. I've never experienced such bad/immature/disrepectful customer service. Never once tried to offer a solution or professional help. It was blatantly obvious he knew he didn't complete his job and scammed us out of $700. read more

This past Saturday while babysitting for my son, the kitchen sink began draining extremely slowly. I tried plunging and putting drain cleaner down the drain with no success. My toilet was clogged and I had to take it off to remove a bottle that was thrown into it. However, when trying to put it back on I found I couldn't secure the bolts to my corroded cast iron flange. I thought I needed a new flange so I got on Yelp and got a few quotes. Gino responded quickly with a quote. During the conversation, he pointed out that I don't necessarily need a new flange (which is expensive to replace) and he then taught me how to secure the bolts.
