After the introduction, my husband and I were taken to the back to get a glimpse of the infant room. First of all, there was food on the floor in the area under the table where the older infants are placed, and two cups on the floor. There was a teacher by herself changing out diapers and when the other teacher walked in there was no sense of urgency in cleaning the mess, by the time she did begin to sweep several minutes had already passed, she picked one of the cups placed it on the counter and put the broom back. Took her several more minutes to realize there was more food on the other side and didn't bother to pick up the other cup, and not to mention no one bothered to wash the first cup that was on the floor. The other side of the smaller infants there was no interaction with them what so ever, no sense of compassion, they were just on the floor being observed by the staff, one of the staff had bright pink two inch nails on. When I brought that to the director's attention, he said he has never had a complaint of scratches before and if he did, he would then bring it to attention and change that. Not to mention when I first walked in the front staff did smile and greet, but other staff that came out from the back did not smile or greet or even acknowledge I was there. At the end of the tour I told the director I would not be bringing my baby here due to all of these issues I witnessed firsthand.

Dropped off some paperwork and she told me I needed one more medical form. I dropped it off the following week and was told that Ms Fran had retired and was no longer there.??...I was never given a phone call by anyone to tell me of the change. There was a new director.Thats a huge change. Mrs Fran was part of the reason we chose this place. I figured to give it a chance anyways. Nothing was as we were explained it would be. There seemed like there was no plan for the summer, they made my five year old take long naps even though he doesn't take naps and we were originally told that he would be able to play while the younger kids did. Every time I went in there there were different teachers. The internet viewing was down. I just had a bad feeling about it starting from the fact that no one gave me a call to even let me know what was going on. I decided to take him out. I called and left two messages on two different days and they couldn't even give me the courtesy of a phone call back. Apparently thats how they do business now. That confirmed I was right in taking him out of there. I would suggest people look else where.

Things started out great when we enrolled our son in 2022…read more We withdrew our son after a year and a half. He was in Transition 1 with the most incredible teachers (Ms Lina & Ms Maya) whom he loved. The problem was he wasn't learning anything new and began to regress being with the younger kids. He was too advanced academically for Transition but when I asked for him to move up to Primary they wouldn't because he wasn't "fully potty trained". Fully potty trained for them meant needing ZERO assistance in the restroom. Well he's 3! He can do everything he just needs help with cleaning himself when he poops. As most 3 year old do. After NUMEROUS exhausting conversations and emails with the Director, teacher in Primary 1 and team there they were ALL adamant that he must be fully potty trained needing no assistance. The primary teacher was set she could/would not help him. Which meant if my 3 year old son didn't clean himself good or at all when pooped no one would know and he would be LEFT TO SIT IN HIS FECES. They only helped with obvious accidents. I couldn't imagine letting any child in my care walk around like that. It's neglect! Ms Lina in Transition 1 volunteered to come help if he needed it but to no avail. So the "best" they would do is let him visit the Primary class 2 hours a day. Which wasn't good enough because even though he enjoyed it, he didn't get the full experience to grow since he still had to be with the 1-2 year olds. So $20,000+ later we withdrew him because leaving him with the babies majority of the day to continue to regress wasn't an option. After a year there instead of growing as advertised and expected he started baby talking at home. This is a kid who knows all 50 states AND their capitals. Can write his name and has a photogenic memory. He was reciting his alphabet and counting to 20 at 15 months. And reading full sentences by 2.5 years old. All of this from what we do with him AT HOME. NOT from anything at HGM. We expected him to excel there. After all it's Montessori and supposed to be the best. In December 2023 I found out only 1-2 of the Primary teachers are actually Montessori certified. Shouldn't they all be since that's supposed to be the foundation for the school? I also found out other parents had the same issue with neglecting them in the restroom and withdrew their kids as well. There should be some checks and balances in place and a teacher assigned to ensure kids aren't sitting around in their feces all day. Disgusting. All in all we had a very expensive babysitter. Not the academic excellence we expected and paid for. Nice facility. Amazing teachers in Transition 1 who did the max they could. He became more social and exposed to soccer and taekwondo which he excelled at. He still gets to do them so he's not missing out socially. He learned more at home and has been very persistent with telling us he doesn't want to go back. We may consider other schools in the area who have better systems in place later. For now he's where we known he gets the best care - HOME.

We have 3 children (twin 3 yr old girls & a 7 yr old boy) who attend and have attended My Place for years and I felt compelled to talk about why we never left. The difference is the people. Yes, they have a fantastic facility, security, high tech interactive gym, very clean, healthy meals...but the most important thing is how the teachers engage and interact with our children. I could give several examples, but we've had a child who passed out due to a breath-hold spell that a teacher quickly acted on and potentially saved our Child's life. This was all caught on video. I've seen teachers buy our child a little gift for Christmas out of their own pocket book. They have helped us get our infants into the building when it was raining. They keep us in the loop if there's any concern for our children. They keep us updated on their individual development process. This is just the type of people they are! And because we've been elsewhere, we know not everyone is like that! One key indicator is our children don't cry when we drop them off at school, they run to class excited. This was not true of the other places. Under the bridge program, my son flourished and was prepared for KISD's kinder curriculum. My Place has been incredible for their education/development, their care and they have a great time doing it! We highly recommend this family-oriented school and wouldn't think about leaving!

My son started attending cream of the crop learning center in late September of 2020. I was…read moreparticularly interested because of a few reasons first was they were a Christian based learning center, second they were close to my home. On his first day I was never introduced to his teacher or ever seen his classroom.In the morning you drive up and an employee there gets the child out the car and takes him inside then when picking up we call when on the way they get the child ready and you meet them at the door and you put your child in the car. The ladies doing the drop off and pick ups are not the teachers in order to find out who his teacher was I had to ask one of them they just said her name and what she looked like. When he started he was a little over 18 months old so he was in the roo class and was sent him with a "cuddle gram" basically a paper saying what he ate and how many diaper changes he had as well as his nap time. Breakfast was always Cheerios & snacks were always crackers not at all fulfilling the only meal fulfilling was lunch which was usually chicken gravy a fruit and veggie or something similar and on fridays the parent brings the child's lunch. His first 3 days he cried as expected for his first time ever attending daycare as the time went on it got better he stopped crying at drop off and was excited to be picked up he would run to me smiling and with open arms at pick up time. If there was ever an incident they would provide a paper saying what happened and you sign it while he was in the roo class that happened a few times not a whole bunch then comes when he moved classes to Disney class 2 year olds and with teacher Haley Farmer who again I had to ask to meet and ask how the day was structured. In her class there was 9 kids including him however in previous class there was 5 with Ms.Gina and Haley was giving me incident reports every week sometimes multiple times a week of him being bit, or hit with a toy sometimes I would just see bite marks but not even be informed of them I complained and sent her a message she said she would look into it. Then he was hit so hard on his face with a toy it left a Mark for days I complained, he came up with a soaking wet pamper I complained, two times he was not cleaned right after changing his diaper and I also complained I started asking more questions then on a Wednesday Lydia the director calls me and says he has had behavioral problems and he bit the teacher and I had no clue ! I messaged the teacher apologizing saying I would work with him and she never replied to me but before she always would so that was strange. all this was news to me because every or most incidents prior to this he was the one being bullied not the aggressor but now she says it is him. Then Lydia calls me at 11:13 a Thursday and says he has to be picked up they can no longer care for him she said he pulled a kids hair, chocked him, and head bunted him and says she has a video of it and I ask to see if the video and she never provided it to me said she had to get owners approval I still have yet to see the video. When I arrived to pick him up he was not in the office like she claimed she was actually napping and he was awoken from his nap to be sent home.I believe they kicked him out because I was complaining too much and I've transferred him to another daycare "Star Montessori" and his teacher said he hasn't been aggressive at all just hyper I don't claim he's an angel I know he throws tantrums but he's 2 and learning he doesn't bite or hit at home so that was far fetched to me. My husband kept urging me to change hum to another because along with all this since he was moved to another class he cried everyday at drop off and would be starving when he was picked up. I had to have a snack for him as soon as I got him in the car because he would be asking over and over for "snack" or "milk" I truly believe they didn't feed him or the children enough and not at all once while he was there did he come up with any type of biblical art work or teachings it was a lot of coloring and painting but they claim to be faith based but that is just a front in my opinion and I personally see this as a blessing and if it was meant for him to attend there he would still but God knows what's best for me and my family so I glorify him in it all it probably saved my son a lot of pain and suffering. If they can not keep supervision of 5-9 kids in a classroom biting my child hitting him or him scraping his finger then they need to re- evaluate their staff because that is just poorly done.

My son just started here after being at home since birth. It was a hard transition for him ,…read moreespecially being away from me but Ms.Stacy was so patience with him she was so helpful with tips to do at home to help with his transition. It all helped and my son is doing fantastic here, it makes me so happy knowing he is doing better and he's settled in great. He comes home with what he has learned from daycare. And he is just blossoming here and I am excited to have him continue growing and learning here. Thank you Anointed Steps Academy! *Update* My son is now 5 years old and just entered kindergarten. He's been with Mrs. Stacy from 18 months all the way up until his preschool graduation. He recently took an academic assessment test for school to see where he is. When we got his results back he is in the 97th percentile for math and 98th percentile for reading! My son is a smart kid but it was also with the help, support and continuous encouragement of Mrs. Stacy and others. She has a curriculum that is set to make your child succeed and surpass what they are learning in public schools. My son is proof of it. I can never thank her enough for her encouragement and positivity for my son and for each and every child there. She has always put the kids first and genuinely loves and cares about them.

I wanted a secured place that would provide my son care and education; not just babysitting. Mrs. Stacy greeted me, gave me a tour, and answered all my questions. As the director she's organized and firm which are qualities you want in a director. My son started the academy at 7 months and will soon move to the 18 month class. I'm grateful for the staff there; I feel secure in leaving my son in their care. The teachers are informative, friendly, and take pride and passion in caring for the children. It's a true learning environment! I am just amazed at the skills my son has developed.
