When I politely told the staff member that I needed to go home and discuss the treatment plan with my parents, her response was, "Wait, how old are you?" My parents help cover my medical expenses while I'm in graduate school, but regardless, I was simply trying to decline the treatment without being pressured further. My daughter needed a procedure done, and the doctor wanted to charge me over $2100 out of pocket because he wanted to use codes that weren't covered by my insurance. I contacted my insurance company and was provided with the codes for that procedure that was covered by my insurance, and I provided that information to the dentist. An appointment was set for the procedure, only for us to get there and be told the doctor forgot to add a code, and they needed to reschedule my appointment because they had to resubmit the codes to the insurance company. After receiving the second approval, I received a phone call from the dentist's office, telling me I need to find another dentist to do the procedure because the dentist (Mr. A Rodriguez) will not be able to do it, and I quote, "HE DOESN'T LIKE THE AMOUNT OF MONEY HE'S GETTING PAID TO DO THE PROCEDURE." It was not the best (I still had to "polish" with a nail file when I got home) but no biggie. It was convenient because he is open after 6:00pm. On Tuesday, (6 months later) I went back to get the same thing done. I asked for composite edges on my front teeth because I grind them, he said it would be better if we did it from half of the tooth down. And I said ok. He put some clear plastic molds to show me how long the teeth will be and I said yes. He did the complete opposite. He gave me extremely thick and ugly "composite veneers" that I did not ask for. They hurt extremely bad, he said he would not leave space in between my teeth to floss because they will "look better". He put the resin on top of my gums, he left black floss undermeath the resin which would have caused a big infection. When I saw what he did with my front camera, I told him I had to go. He said it was $600 but he would discount it to $500. I paid him and left, I called my mom crying because I couldn't even close my mouth due to how thick those things were and texted him that this was not fair. (I didn't say anything while I was in the clinic because it was only him and I, he has no receptionist) he calls me and asks "why don't you like them? They are beautiful" my parents went back to ask for a refund(refund he offered me when I told him I was going to wtite a review) My parents went to the clinic and he gave me half of the money. $250. He also told my mom "I didn't look the same as in January, that I was too "skinny" and that I did drugs" ??????? I could not stand the pain, I had to go somewhere else to get it removed and paid $400+$26 for a mouthwash to help my gums heal. I sent him the videos of the black cord inside and demanded the rest of my money to what he replied "Stop harassing me I will call the cops" $500 might not seem much, but it is my full week of work.
