Do not go here. All they seem to care about is selling you expensive treatments…read more My husband and I recently moved to the area and came here looking for a new dentist. We were quoted hundreds to thousands of dollars for things like teeth-grinding retainers, replacement dental work, and upgraded services. Even our cleaning had some kind of antibiotic add on to "avoid infection". What really bothered me was the constant pressure. When I politely told the staff member that I needed to go home and discuss the treatment plan with my parents, her response was, "Wait, how old are you?" Aside from being unprofessional, it was completely irrelevant. My parents help cover my medical expenses while I'm in graduate school, but regardless, I was simply trying to decline the treatment without being pressured further. The entire experience felt more like a sales pitch than a dental appointment. If you're looking for a practice that prioritizes patient care over upselling, I would recommend looking elsewhere. I will not be returning.

The last experience I had with them, I wouldn't advise anyone to go here. My daughter needed a procedure done, and the doctor wanted to charge me over $2100 out of pocket because he wanted to use codes that weren't covered by my insurance. I contacted my insurance company and was provided with the codes for that procedure that was covered by my insurance, and I provided that information to the dentist. An appointment was set for the procedure, only for us to get there and be told the doctor forgot to add a code, and they needed to reschedule my appointment because they had to resubmit the codes to the insurance company. After receiving the second approval, I received a phone call from the dentist's office, telling me I need to find another dentist to do the procedure because the dentist (Mr. A Rodriguez) will not be able to do it, and I quote, "HE DOESN'T LIKE THE AMOUNT OF MONEY HE'S GETTING PAID TO DO THE PROCEDURE." This was very unprofessional, and I would never go back nor refer anyone to this money-hungry place. This was the Miami Lakes location.

After charging us in advance for the procedure, we entered the treatment room, where I was informed that parents could not stay with their child during the procedure, and I was taken to the reception area. Less than 20 minutes later, Dr. Byron came out to tell me she would not proceed with the treatment because my daughter was crying and she did not want to "traumatize her." I went to where my daughter was, where they were attempting to administer the gas anesthesia. She was crying and trembling. Dr. Byron informed me that the procedure fee would be waived, but we would still be charged $150 for the anesthesia, despite it not taking effect and never being fully administered since the process was stopped. My question is: what experienced doctor working with children doesn't realize that a young child might cry in this situation, especially if separated from her mother? Why proceed with administering anesthesia if the child is crying and there's a chance the procedure cannot be completed? My experience with Dr. Byron was completely lacking in compassion and professionalism, especially where a minor is concerned. Perhaps other parents have had positive experiences, but mine was a disaster. The only thing she handled well was the initial payment. However, if you're looking for a healthcare professional who will treat your child with care and show respect to the family, I DO NOT recommend Dr. Dharma Byron. She still has a lot to learn in that regard.
