The answer was Yes, one can change into swimsuits during lunch before the black sand beach visit and then change out of them at a stop after the waterfall stop to be dry for the ride back to the hotels. A few days before our tour I received an email confirmation that included other useful information, such as bring along swimwear, towels, water shoes and a light jacket for the air conditioned van. I had not considered the A/C and I'm always cold, so that is a very welcome heads-up. On the day of our tour we received texts that the driver was on his way. Pretty close to the scheduled meeting time the van pulled up to our resort. The van was spacious with huge windows. Our tour was full with all 12 passenger seats occupied. Our driver/guide was Travis. He was born and raised in Hana and was a wealth of knowledge about Hana, Maui, and Hawaii. He seemed to be related to all the locals he passed on the road. There was not dull moment. Among the stops along the way were Maui Tropical Plantation for breakfast, Auntie Sandy's Banana Bread stand for those that wished to purchase, Wai'anapanapa State Park (black sand beach, also with a lava tube and a blow hole), Pua'a Ka'a State Wayside Park (usually calm enough to swim but the falls were roaring due to rain earlier in the day), and Ho'okipa Beach with turtles on the beach. Travis was an excellent driver and guide. We got great value from the cost of the excursion. One minor thing did bother us. We are Jewish and were uncomfortable during the praising Jesus sing-along. Regardless, we recommend this tour and especially Travis as a guide.

When you get on board they have a light breakfast with fruit, croissants and muffins that you can snack on, as well as fruit juice. The ride out, they explain some safety stuff and how the day is going to run. There are 2 floors to the boat with the upstairs being much more open. There were only about 30 people the day we went but I believe they have up to 100, so a more crowded day may have a different experience. Despite being in November, we ended up seeing several whales coming to the surface (apparently they are in abundance come January). They provide snorkel gear and fins, but you are more than welcome to bring your own (we borrow fins only as we brought our own masks). They provide a simple anti fog spray which worked great. They let us snorkel for about 2 hours in the surrounding area asking us to stay within 50 yards of the boat with a buddy. The staff answered all our questions about what fish we were seeing and recommendation for how to see the best fish. There is also a glass bottom that you can climb down a ladder in the boat to see the fish without going in the water. They served lunch while docked so you could eat while you took a break from snorkeling. It was fish tacos with a selection of fish, pork or being burger meat. They had a slaw and quinoa side and some chips. Nothing fancy but o found it delicious after working up an appetite snorkeling. They had cameras for rent (extremely expensive so I'd bring your own), a photographer that took picture you could purchase for a fee ($80 for all the pictures she took of us, again a little pricey), wet suit tops for rent ($10 each) and special snorkel masks if you are near sighted (I believe this had no additional charge). The boat was pretty new, clean and open which was nice. I would 100% go out with this company again.

Those turns are not difficult - so don't let that part dissuade you from taking the tour. Stop at the town of Makawao for lunch (Freshies had a good menu) and ride like bandits back to the shop as the lag van holds traffic back a bit to clear the roadway for you! The island is open for business, save some small parts around Lahaina itself still recovering from the devastating fires of 2023, with limited impact elsewhere on the island. Brad is the only reason this review contains anything positive…read more We rented four tanks and weights during unsettled weather. Brad handled the situation exactly as a dive professional should. He checked certifications, discussed conditions, made sure we understood the risks, and confirmed we were prepared to abort the dive if conditions were unsafe. Professional, responsible, and respectful. Then there was Tina Davis. She was rude, dismissive, condescending, and openly unpleasant. I also heard the way she spoke about other customers when they were not present. Based on what I personally witnessed, this went beyond bad customer service. In scuba diving, attitude can become a safety issue. Divers must feel comfortable asking questions, raising equipment concerns, questioning conditions, and saying they are not comfortable. An employee who makes customers feel stupid or unwelcome for doing that can discourage exactly the communication that keeps people safe. I would not personally trust Tina Davis in a safety-critical interaction after what I witnessed. I also personally heard her make a comment to the effect of, "just take it from the lost and found." I am not accusing her of stealing anything. I am stating what I personally heard, and I found the comment inappropriate and concerning for someone working in a business trusted with customers' equipment and property. The contrast with Brad was dramatic. He handled the same circumstances professionally and treated us like adults. Afterward, I spoke with other local divers who described similar negative experiences with Tina. I cannot independently verify their experiences, so they can speak for themselves. I can only speak for mine. I believe management should seriously consider whether Tina Davis should continue representing this business. If this were my company, I would terminate her employment. I have also submitted these concerns to PADI Quality Management / Quality Assurance for independent review. For the avoidance of doubt, this review also puts management and ownership on notice of the safety and judgment concerns I personally observed. If a future incident involves similar conduct, ignored diver concerns, or unsafe shortcuts, I would be willing to testify truthfully under oath about what I personally witnessed, heard, and reported here. Brad deserves recognition. Tina Davis is the reason this review is one star.

It was an honor to see how this small farm is maintaining the heritage and history after the large corporations have abandoned the islands. The pineapple they grow is absolutely delicious and I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about it. Our tour guide was Brian, and he was extremely funny and engaging throughout. We took a short ride from the general store, which is where you check in, up to the farm to see the various stages of growth. We learned how the pineapples are harvested and I have a newfound respect for the amount of work it takes to grow a single pineapple. The highlight for me was learning how to properly cut a pineapple, which I thought would be no easy feat, but once you know how to do it, it is extremely simple. Sampling the pineapple out in the Maui sunshine was the cherry on top. I highly recommend coming to take this tour and if not, at least stopping by the store to purchase some fresh pineapple or other pineapple related products.
