We called in the morning to see if we could rent mopeds and had them within an hour and a half (an hour if we didn't have to eat breakfast). The delivery made things even more convenient since we didn't have to go and pick them up. We met Keoki at the front of our hotel and he was so wonderful. We've never ridden mopeds before, but he pointed us to the videos and gave us some pointers and we were set! He also went out of his way to give us recommendations for where to snorkel and tell us about cool places to go on the island, including places to eat and stop along the way. We really could not have asked for a better experience. We had initially only rented the mopeds for a day but had so much fun that we extended until the end of our trip. To return them, all we had to do was call them and arrange for the pickup. It was so easy. Renting mopeds our trip so memorable and allowed us to explore so much more of the island. And the drop-off/pick-up service made the process SO EASY and so seamless. If you're considering it, just do it. You won't regret it!

Maui Sunriders Bike Shop in Kihei has a solid reputation, but my first experience with them was…read moredisappointing due to a preventable reservation issue. I reserved an e-bike on December 21 for a Christmas Day ride, with a return on the 26th. Their online system let me submit the reservation without any warnings or restrictions. But when I showed up to pick it up, I was told they wouldn't rent it to me because they're closed on the 25th, and someone else had the bike booked on the 26th. They also said they needed time to tune the bike in between. That explanation is understandable. What's not understandable is that nobody told me ahead of time. If they had reached out earlier, I could have adjusted the plan. I didn't even mind paying for an extra day to make it work. The bigger issue is that the reservation system shouldn't allow you to book dates that can't actually be fulfilled. I'm open to giving them another try, but they really need to fix the reservation process and communication so customers don't find out at pickup that the rental can't happen.

We quickly filled out a rental agreement then they gave us the rundown in operating an E-bike and answered question. They provided locks and backpacks for our water. They would have also provided helmets if we wanted them. Jeffery and staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming and efficient. This will definitely be our "go to" place for bike rentals in the future. Thanks for a great time!!

The electric bike revolution has went on around me as I pedal my hybrid fitness bike around town I…read morestarted noticing people whistling by me with e bikes. After running into Lee the owner. I decided to stop by the shop on my day off. Calling it s bike shop is too narrow of a definition it's more of an electric bike center with rentals, sales, and short term rentals available at the location. Its a great way to immerse yourself in electric bike culture. Lee was busy with his bike advocacy work so he turned me over to his shop manager Nathan. I was able to test ride three different types of electric bikes and by the end of that experience I understand why they're e-bikes are catching on so quickly. The Center's west side location gives you good access to bike routes to explore right from the shop. The technology has definitely evolved since the last time I rode and e-bike. All the bikes look clean and well-maintained and all three bikes I rode perform perfectly. I rode one bike that was had thick tires and reminded me some what of a pick up truck I noticed that one used a little bit more power than the others but I think they would have adequate range for an afternoon biking on the west side of Maui and seeing the sights. What can I say the top of the line e-bike with the crank based assist motor seem to work the best for me that's also the more expensive option for purchase. Definitely worth checking out if you're thinking of going the E bike route.

They fit you with everything you need, from gloves, to backpacks, to jackets, you name it. I loved the tour information on the way up, particularly the suggestions on where to stop along the way. Shoutout to our guide who was super friendly and full of information; I believe his name was Matius. Also, being a late riser, I appreciated that our tour didn't start at the crack of dawn. The first section of the mountain you fly down; I managed to reach speeds of almost 35mph! The second section of the ride allows you to stop and shop. I enjoyed the self-paced aspect of this tour. Overall, if you're looking for something fun to do with lots of scenery along the way, Maui Sunriders is the way to go!
