I finally checked Yelp and found Santos with his good reviews. He came out quickly, gave a fair estimate, said he could do it the next day. He arrived a little late with his truck and small crew but went right to work and did the whole job in just 3 hours. I had expected a lot of chainsaw noise but they did a lot of cutting with handsaws, using the power tools mostly to cut up and grind the wood. Very impressive work and a great personality. They moved 9 cans of my cans for trash pickup back in my yard and also didn't put them back. They left several large chunks of trunk (2 1/2 feet by 4' long) and said their saw chain broke but "don't worry they'll be back". They are still there. The biggest. most damaging problem is that instead of removing the fallen tree, they dumped a huge pile of trunk sections down an embankment at the rear of my property, then hid them with leafy branches. Joe took 3 weeks to return my call, and 2 months to come out and look at the problem. When he came out he said he didn't know what to do, but he'd call a guy. He came out with the guy, but they've never been back. He got sick. He got hurt. He was in rehab. Now, Joe does not seem to have a physical address where he can be reached, as my lawyer has tried. His website lists Elkins Park, but that is for a condo, where he has no connection for many years. There are many more reliable tree cutters than Joe Hughes Executive Branch- try someone else.
