Absolutely the worst Urgent care in the Pasadena Area. Do not go here! I went in not feeling well waited over 1.5 hours, and when I got in Dr May ordered a IV for me. Nurse Angelique Dawson attempted 3 times to jab me to get blood but was unsuccessful- (For the record I have never once had a problem getting blood work done) -During that period she seemed very agitated to even want to do it, and acted very unprofessional during the whole process. Later the Dr comes back and tells me there's nothing they can do and told me to go to a ER because she is the only nurse on duty which was a lie. This is basically a scam in my eyes because they will now bill my insurance and try to bill me a coPayment. I am 100 percent reporting this to the board along with contacting my insurance to make a claim. read more

Came in for an ear infection. Service here was top notch. Wait time wasn't too bad in comparison to other urgent care's I've been to in the past. The receptionist was very helpful with any questions I had and getting all the paperwork taken care of so I could be seen. The doctor was really nice and listened to my concerns. The quality of care I received was just fantastic. I was triaged and placed in an examination room within a half hour of arriving. The best part however, were the three medical personnel who showed me compassion and professionalism. Horrible experience! I have been here previously and had had a poor experience that time as well, but this was much worse! I went in because I had a toothache/ infection and I thought it Would be quicker than waiting to get into the dentist. I was called in fairly quickly and the nurse took all my vitals. She told me the doctor would be in shortly. More than an hour later, I was still sitting in there waiting. I went out to see if anyone would be coming in soon. Someone asked if I was in room 2 and I said yes. She said she'd be right there. On my way out I stopped at the reception desk and asked if I had a co-pay. She told me no, I didn't. A week later I got a text that my balance due was $150.00. No bill, no itemization, nothing showing my insurance was billed and what they did or didn't cover, nothing. Just that they were going to charge my card the next day. I tried calling the number on the text, it wanted my date of birth. I put it in several times and it said please enter your date of birth. I could not reach a live person, even after several tries. I pushed the number for billing, put in my info, and Maya told me I had no unpaid bills[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The people and service are nice at Exer. However, The billing process is the worst ever. I had to pay $500 without receiving any bill or notification or invoice showing what it was for. I asked if I can see what I'm paying for and I was told that I can call the billing dept. I'm half dying here on a re-visit for a respiratory infection but had to fuss with them about billing from my first visit. As a physician I try to reserve judgement on other's clinical decision making, especially in the context of a family member but our visit today certainly left a lot to be desired. I was told my dad had a fever but by most standard clinical definitions he was not febrile. I say this because he came in to be evaluated for an ankle injury but was referred to the ED because of this fever for unclear clinical reasons. There was felt to be diagnostic anchoring because of a recent procedure he had. It definitely made me question her thought process. In any case, this wouldn't be a place I recommend for care unless with another provider. read more

We were turned away from this place on Super Bowl Sunday 1-2 hours prior to closing time with our very sick toddler. We explained his symptoms since Saturday morning had been vomiting, diarrhea, and not eating. We said he had drank water and milk all day on Saturday fine, but had refused most liquids on Sunday before we got there. They turned us away claiming he could be dehydrated and they can't do IVs at the facility for liquids. You could tell by looking at him that he wasn't dehydrated. He'd had plenty of wet diapers, too. Nevertheless, if he had been truly dehydrated, I get it that an urgent care couldn't do an IV. Our experience with our toddler isn't the reason for the 1 star review, but what happened to my husband a few days later. On Wednesday of last week, my husband quickly developed a really bad sore throat and we noticed white dots on his tonsils. My step-dad had coincidentally been to an urgent care earlier that same day with identical symptoms and was diagnosed with bronchitis and given meds. We're not doctors, so I'm not saying that's what my husband had for sure, but white dots on the tonsils are clearly strep or bronchitis. My husband got called back in a decent amount of time - about a 45 min. wait with 3 people in the waiting room ahead of him. However, back in the exam room he was there another 1.5 hours. All that occurred in that time was one throat swab, which doctor said was negative for strep, so she wouldn't give him any meds?! She then said the tests sometimes come back negative when they're not, so said she'd do another one ... but that results wouldn't be back for 3 days?! What good does that do? I couldn't believe he went in with the symptoms he had and left with no clear test results and no meds several hours later. We'll definitely choose a different urgent care next time. read more

It was Sunday, I was on day 5 of battling the worst cold of my life, it's been 4 days since I've last heard my voice, and my eyes decided to wake up crusted shut so I came here to get some antibiotic eye drops. I've never been to an Exer urgent care but the process was self-explanatory. Before I could even talk to the receptionist, there was a sign with several QR codes that walked me through the registration process. Perfect for someone who lost their voice. Answer a few questions, take pics of the front and back of your DL and insurance card, and you're registered. There were 2-3 people ahead of me and I was called to be seen in under 30 minutes. Got my meds, my dr note, and drove straight to CVS where my meds were pretty much ready for pickup when I got there. Pretty good experience overall! read more

I had cut my arm and required stitches. They did an adequate job and I was treated just fine. My issue is with the billing. I have Medicare with a supplement insurance, for which I gave them the information. About a week or so after treatment I received a bill in the mail for an amount owing. I checked my insurance online and saw they had submitted bill to Medicare, but not my supplemental insurance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called the billing dept. at exer and asked them why I got a bill when they didn't submit it to my supplemental ins.? They said to disregard the bill and they'd take care of it. About two weeks later, I got another bill in the mail for another amount. I check my explanation of benefits online and I owe nothing![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I called Exer, told them, they said disregard the bill. And now a week later, I got a text today telling me I owe another amount. I checked my insurance, and I owe nothing! Why can't Exer submit the bills to supplemental insurance companies when they already have the information? It seems like such a simple thing to do! It's irritating to keep getting bills for amounts I don't owe! read more

While everyone was nice, the PA that saw me never self identified that she was a PA, not a doctor. They took 3 x-rays and told me to follow up with a surgeon. When I went back to this urgent care to pick up the 3 x-rays for my follow up appointment with a surgeon, the staff here gave me an EMPTY CD without any x-ray images. I had to take another 3 x-rays at the surgeon's office. Thank God my insurance covered everything. But imagine someone that doesn't have insurance and got stuck with the bill of 2 sets of duplicates x-rays due to staff incompetency. NOT recommended! read more

The person left gaps and the stitches did not hold! 10 days later and I've made 2 more trips to another urgent care, 1 ER visit and lastly one visit to my PCP. A silly household accident left me with a badly infected finger that couldn't wait until after the weekend. XER in Pasadena was recommended by a friend so off I went. Very clean, spacious, pleasant waiting room. Checking in by scanning a bar code with my phone was a bit of a hassle but it also avoided people crowding together at the welcome desk. I waited about half an hour which is nothing and was seen by a really nice, knowledgeable doctor. Absolutely horrible experience with the rude front office staff and doctor. Yesterday after work I picked my daughter up from her evening practice to discover she was pulling at her ear. I immediately decided to take her to urgent care because she was in a lot of pain. It was about 7:45 pm, but I saw this place was open until 8 pm and was only two miles away, so we decided to try here first in case they were still taking patients. It was 7:59 pm when we walked in. I knew it was close to closing time, but it wasn't clear when they take their last patient and I figured it didn't hurt to go in and check. Well, apparently it does hurt, because we were greeted by annoyed unified glares from the front office staff. When I asked (very politely as I was well aware they were close to closing) if they were still taking patients or if I was too late, one of the women answered, clearly annoyed, that it would be up to the doctor. With negativity audible in her voice, she called the doctor over and said, "They just walked in and are asking to be seen." The doctor walked up behind the front desk and asked what was going on. I let her know my daughter was experiencing ear pain. Rather than simply stating that they weren't taking any more patients, the doctor took it upon herself to explain in a condescending tone that a visit requires my daughter to be checked in, complete, paperwork and examined, so it takes some time. She then said, "It's 7:59 pm now, why didn't you come at 8 am?" I explained that my daughter's ear just started hurting. She then suggested my daughter take some Tylenol and we return the next day. I was pretty upset at this response, not because my daughter wasn't going to be seen there, but because of the complete lack of understanding, care, and empathy exhibited by someone I would otherwise trust to care for my child, not to mention the time the doctor took to shame me for not bringing my daughter in earlier, as if I allowed my child to suffer all day just to bring her in near closing time and intentionally inconvenience them. No one bothered to ask when the pain started or how severe it was, it was just assumed that any delay was intentional. I explained that I came here in hopes to get my daughter help, not to be lectured about why I didn't come earlier when I couldn't possibly have. We found excellent and quick care at the Huntington Emergency & Trauma Center. Everyone there managed to show kindness and empathy, despite the fact they work in a highly stressful environment and likely see some of the most awful sights on a daily basis. Having read some of the reviews here, along with a few responses from management, this seems to be a long term trend in behavior here over the years. I sincerely hope management will take these reviews to heart and enact some kind of change to the office culture here. Rude and disrespectful behavior from office staff is one thing, but it's even worse coming from someone is such a respected position as a doctor. read more

Angie called me back, it was a pleasant surprise and she provided some information that shed some light into the situation. The front desk are new, the system they are using is new, and all the data pre 2024 is on a server, that Exer no longer pays for, therefore, that company is not prioritizing Exer at all - creating a very inefficient system to be able to pull any data from. Angie has put in a ticket for me to get all my data from this other data company, and will call me back again when they give it to her. I am grateful that Angie reached out and explained everything, i did feel she was genuinely wanting to help, so I increased my rating due to her. Now I'm just surprised that such a big company like Exer would make a decision that creates great inefficiencies in their company, I suppose they hired economic consultants that projected this new data company would save them enough money, that it outweighs the fallout of switching over. read more

This is my second time at Exer urgent care on Del Mar in Pasadena. The first time I went I felt like I was coming down with Covid which they did the test and it showed up negative. I left with no meds and they told me to come back if symptoms worsen. I got so sick the next day and ended up at a different urgent care which was so much better. Oct 25 - I gave it another shot and they opened late not at 8am as the sign on the door says. The provider apparently was not in so they had us continue to stand outside until the provider arrived. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Meanwhile the female at the front desk just sat there and looked at us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was diagnosed with a fracture on my foot they gave me a shoe which was 3 sizes to big ... anything to make money not a pain pill take Tylenol over the counter no matter how bad the pain is. And not even some cream to rub on the area to ease the pain. I will never return here again and by the way I think whoever attended to me was NOT a Dr but a nurse didn't make eye contact don't know beside manners. This service is awful. I had a nasty flu and wanted to get checked out. This urgent care is pretty good - it was not packed like other locations of Exer, only had 2 patients ahead of me. Nice friendly staff, and I waited only about 25 min before taken to an examination room. After about 10 min the doctor came in, did an efficient exam and listened to my concerns. I then had a rapid test done for covid and flu. Shortly thereafter had a treatment plan and was out in less than 75 min including time waiting for my rapid test results. Good wait times compared to other urgent care, and good overall care. I highly recommend this location. read more

Office experience: I requested the paper form to fill out instead of the QR because I do not want to use the public WiFi. Others were filling out paper forms but when I asked for the paper forms because the link wasn't working the girl at the front desk was bothered I ask and told me to go to my car to get better service. When I said that's alright I would prefer the paper forms at this point. She scoffed and gave me the forms without a clipboard. When I asked for a clip board she just tossed it onto the counter instead of handing it to me. So great attitude. One star off Care Quality: the doctor rushed through my visit. I did not receive a diagnosis and I had questions but he was literally walking to the door to leave and the attention and care was severely lacking. When telling me what I would need to take as treatment, I wasn't told that I would receive a prescription, a pharmacy location was not verified with me so the prescription went further out from me. And I was just ignored and not instructed on what to do next except for "go to the pharmacy" was all I was told. This was a huge disappointment as I've been to this location 4 years ago and it was much better then than now. It's gone downhill. Two more stars off. I'm giving two stars because it was clean and there was a cute park next door. I should add, when I tried calling them to find out about my prescription I was on hold for 16 minutes and then I was hung up on. A second time I tried getting through using the billing option and when I finally spoke to someone, they were nicer. But after they said my pharmacy location would be changed, no other info was given to me and they hung up abruptly. I will not be coming back here. read more

DONT GO TO DR.MAY GRAHAM . Absolutely disgusted by DR.GRAHAM. My husband and mom came in on separate days. She dismissed my husband's symptoms.. mind you he has really bad Asthma. Came in with a fever, cough and a sinus infection. Waited over an hour. Just to tell him to go home. My mom was given antibiotics with the same symptoms. I will be having my husband report this doctor to the medical board of California . The front desk was amazing no issues there. read more
