The doctors and staff are great - capable, professional & efficient. The fact that it is impossible to talk to a front desk or staff person with a question is unacceptable. I had a cold that turned into bronchitis. I couldn't see my regular doctor for 9 days, so I went to Exer Urgent Care on Allen Ave. for the first time. There are a couple of free parking spots in/under the building, but I figured those would be taken. I parked on Colorado, about 50 yards away. Was there for more than 2 hours bud didn't get ticketed. Lots of street parking here. Okay, see here's the bad news. I showed up at 10:00 a.m. I saw a doctor at 2:30 p.m. That's a long wait! Not exactly "urgent" if you ask me. When I did see the doctor, I asked what's up with this. He said they were being slammed with lots of flu patients unexpectedly. That made sense, given what I had observed. So, I wish they had a way to get more help when needed. But I understand the problem. I downgraded only one star for this. Why so generous? First, because the folks in the office were professional, helpful, and friendly. Very positive experience with them. Perhaps more importantly, they have a system that allows you to leave the waiting area. You can watch online for your place in line. And they will call you shortly before your time. So, you don't have to sit in the waiting area for the whole time. You can get lunch across the street (Tops!) or coffee not far away (Jameson Brown on Allen). Or, if you live nearby, you can go home. This makes the waiting time okay from my point of view. The waiting room is pleasant, actually. The chairs are quite comfortable and there's plenty of light. I finally got to see Dr. Lenaburg. He made the long wait worthwhile. He was not rushing. He was fully present with me. He asked lots of questions. He explained things to me in a helpful way. I would be glad to see him again. Well, glad isn't quite right because I don't want to get sick again. But you get the point. Dr. Lenaburg suggested a couple of novel ways to treat my condition. It's a familiar one, I've had it 20 times at least. I went with his suggestions and was shocked by how quickly I felt much better. It's never been this quick before. So, yet another reason to go back, even though I'd rather not. So, the only downside was the wait time. In a perfect world, they'd have another physician ready to step in when needed. But it isn't a perfect world. So the fact that I could register and then go away and do other things just about makes up for the long wait. And the expertise and care of Dr. Lenaburg. BRIEF UPDATE Three days later, my son is quite sick, so I go back to Exer with him. Got there early so wait was short. Once again I'm impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. This time we were served by a Physician Assistant, Julia. She was fantastic. Didn't rush. Was very attentive to my son's issues. Talked through treatment plans. Both caring and professional. I'm very impressed with the folks at Exer on Allen. They do a great job. So now they get 4 1/2 stars. Of course I can't do that. If my next visit is like the last one, it will be 5 starts for sure. read more

The wait time was about 20 minutes for walk-in. They were quick and efficient. The place is extremely clean. They also had TVs inside the rooms! It made my anxiety decrease. Terrible terrible no provider at 8am make you wait outside. This is not the first time I have come here and no doctor until 9am ( one hour after the office opens). This is not how you run a business. Along with the fact you have to upload your insurance card every visit get an updated system. The first time I went to this place several years ago, the service was amazing. Not any more. You have to do your own intake using their kiosk and your cell phone. So while I was having chest pressure and possibly a reaction to peanut butter, they would give me anything until I filled out their forms. What makes things even worse, I'd just been there for the same issues less than a month ago. So why did I have to fill out my insurance info all over again? The doctor also said I should go the ER which I'd agreed to do. She said she'd call 911. But then the nurse told me I could leave. When I asked if they'd called 911, she said "we can if you want". So I just drove myself to the ER. They were not listening to me, and I felt like they just wanted me to leave. So, I left. read more

I was more than well taken care earlier today by their efficient staff, in this particular case, Yvette and Maiya, the Nurse Practitioner. Yvette, even before they opened, ensured that I would be seen quickly, which I was. Maiya, was very thorough and thoughtful in her diagnosis. I've always had a good experience here. I came in with a foot allergy or fungus or Staff infection, either way it was taken care of was the right prescriptions. I hope to continue to have good experiences here. We'll see what the next visit brings but so far so good. read more

Their website says they are equipped to take care of fractures and sprains and offer X-rays. I was diligent in checking to make sure so I can get my son taken care of and they don't offer X-rays! Way over due review. Came in 2022 and still need to commend the great experience I had. At the time this was the second urgent care I went to for my symptoms. Dr Lenaburg went above and beyond to help me out. Even took the time to look into zoonotic diseases due to the nature of my job. I don't normally write reviews but I was so disappointed in this clinic and the front desk staff if I could give them zero stars I would. I came in, it was empty and the girl at the front desk, "Roxanna", was extremely unprofessional to the point where I felt uncomfortable. She barely acknowledged me, and when I asked for assistance with a cut on my hand, she was dismissive and indifferent. Despite my obvious need for help, she was more focused on her phone than assisting me. Her lack of empathy and professionalism made my experience at the clinic extremely unsatisfactory. However, I must commend the doctor for being great and patient, and Rikardo, the Medical Assistant, was truly helpful. So many of the people there are disinterested in the patients who come in, look at you like a number and it's truly appalling and DISHEARTENING. From Jaqueline Turner to other Nurse practitioners- they always look like their mind is on something else or they have something they're thinking of and it's definitely not you. No one has an investigative bone in their body and are not interested in trying to figure out any of your issues at all, they look like they would rather be either clubbing or golfing. My suggestion is that they get a life coach and a psychologist. Even one of the medical staff members a woman with curly hair who wears it in a ponytail is a disinterested jerk who doesn't care about you at all and looks at you as though you aren't even there! Zero humor, zero personality, invasion of the body demeanor. That girl looks crazy. With the exception of some medical employees like Danny, I've had the misfortune of dealing with nothing but self absorbed to the MAX dirtbag LOSERS who shouldn't be in this profession because they LACK INTELLECT, curiosity, KINDNESS AND COMPASSION & a host of other positive traits which are required to be a doctor and make a doctor or medical professional great!! In fact, miss J. Turner, who haunts the halls, was nearly screaming at me and criticizing me. She is truly a clueless DOLT! I came at 725 and I DONT HAVE A CAR!! I took a Lyft to get there on-time and spent money i do not have. I hurt my knee and its deformed and hurts really bad. The guy in the fromt desk tells me they cant help me they take their last patient at 715. I argued the website states you close at 8 and I just spent $20 on a rideshare to get there. He then shames me telling me i should have called before I came. Really isn't it urgent care?. Absolutely rude.! He gave me no alternatives or empathy. Very cold what is this world coming to? People are just rude. I'm tired of it. He could've been nice about it and he was just plain rude. By the way they should have it listed on their website if that's the case . I recently cut my finger, and all of the staff there were excellent! They were so professional and kind. The front desk ladies, the medical assistant, the one who took my vitals, the gentleman who was gentle in giving me my tetanus shot. Horrible, horrible place! Avoid it at all costs! I walked in needing an X-Ray and I tried to speak to the girl in the front named Roxana and she told me to sign in and right away that there would be a wait.. I was trying to ask her a question, but she was too busy texting on her phone, she seemed to bothered to deal with me. I checked in and she finally called me to the front constantly looking at her phone and told me, we do t have x-rays here, you can go to another clinic. I told her I wasn't sure if i needed an X-ray and she said well if you Think you do , go to another Exer. A male co-worker came through and asked me if I needed anything and introduced himself as Ricardo and Roxana immediately told him very loudly, "you look stressed out " Just stay in the back, I don't need your help". The service is extremely bad. The doctor said we should do a blood test here then We asked the price of blood test. The doctor left and ten minutes later another woman came in, telling us they don't know the price because we should do it in another lab. We ask the previous doctor to come back we want to talk with the previous doctor. The woman said The doctor is going to treat other patients and will not come back. Then she ask us to leave. Don't know why people are treating this like the holy grail of clinics - it's not. You first go in and virtually check in with a QR code and you think that saves you time. WRONG. It's taken me over 2 hrs to finally get through the line (of which there were only 3 people in front of me), and then another HOUR of sitting in the room waiting for a doctor to come in. Staff was friendly enough, but got is this place in efficient. So much unnecessary waiting. This was a terrible experience. I showed up and waited in the wait room alone for 40 minutes. I saw people come out, but was still not called. I could see the employees moving about, but no sense of urgency. When I was finally called in, I was told they were all on lunch and that is why I had to wait so long. (management issue there). The gentleman I saw pretended to be a doctor when he is only a PA. He did not clarify when asked. Finally, they billed my insurance for a $249 lab fee to conduct a home Covid Test on me. They take your credit care information in advance and automatically charge it. There is no transparency in the service they are providing, they do not ask, and they certainly do not tell you the cost. I would never have agreed to a Covid Test that I could buy and perform at home for $20. Insurance does not cover this "fee" of course and so my card was charged automatically and I have to fight for a reimbursement with a grievance. My own doctor called me it after they said I had pneumonia (not true) and he warned me about this specific urgent care. DO NOT GO THERE. read more

Came to this Urgent care a week ago after I was in a car accident. Front office staff Jessica was very helpful in the check in process and helped me as I was still shaken up from the accident. There was a bit of a wait but Danny who took my vitals checked in on us throughout the wait to make sure we were okay. The Manager Lourdes even popped in the room to check on patients waiting and made sure we had water and got me a replacement ice pack for my arm. Provider Julia was helpful and made sure to thoroughly check me out and make sure I was comfortable with the assessment before leaving. Overall it was a nice experience after a scary event and I'm glad I chose to come here as the staff was compassionate and really made you feel taken care of. Thank you Exer staff! read more

Came here with a broken finger a couple days ago. I Walked in and the person behind the counter was with someone else, so I sat and waited. Once she was done with that customer she didn't even bother to acknowledge me or let me know she could help me. I walked up to counter and how asked I could get some help and she was asked if I signed in, I said no and she directed me to a QR code. I told her my finger is broken, but I'd get signed in as fast as I could. This is when she informed me that they didn't have an X-ray machine. I was in excruciating pain and really wish they were more proactive in helping potential patients- not so urgent care. read more

Came here for myself after 2 other options failed on a Monday. Pro is parking is not an issue and once you register you can leave premises to get text to come back to be seen within 10 minutes. When you check in, they take your vitals and take your concerns down and end up waiting another hour plus in a room to be seen by a doctor. I like the advances in technology but still a long amount of wait for something someone that has work to tend to. Staff is nice but it's the efficiency that doesn't add up! read more

I have called their office for days, each and every time I'm told the doctor will call me back, I just want to know what i have. Dr. William Lenaburg is a lifesaver. I have been coming here for roughly three years, even prior to this location becoming an Exer. I am relieved he is still here, because the quality of care he provides is excellent. He is empathetic, a great listener, and has a wide array of knowledge concerning diagnosis/ treatments. The man is clearly a veteran in the industry with great experience. The staff here are friendly, fast, and Mobile check in never takes long. I would never go to another urgent care, This is the best place in Pasadena, And I have always been in and out quickly with the help I need. Thankyou Doctor!! Took a friend early Sunday morning for a fractured ankle and met the best and most thorough Dr. Drummond. He explained everything in detail and took time to answer questions. He was great! It's rare for doctors to have time to explain medical details to us and often can't understand what they're saying. Dr. Drummond was clear and concise.
