From the very beginning, the care I've received has been thoughtful, attentive, and encouraging. Erin, my physical therapist, has been instrumental in my recovery. She focuses on strengthening my core and legs while carefully observing and listening during each session. Thanks to her attention to detail, I've learned that my knee positioning and the way I've been favoring it contributed to stiffness and limited rotation in my hip. She consistently provides targeted exercises to correct these issues and build strength, and I truly feel the progress. I can actually stand straight now. Only with a little cage rattling was she seen 11/4 hours later. We were told that the MD was way behind. So, that day, over a little more than an hour he got behind by 1 1/4 hours. Staff gave excuses right out of a paint by numbers PR book. They eventually revealed that the patients were Guinea pigs. Rather planning a seamless transition BCOS went for pin the tail on the donkey as a strategy. If you have unlimited time and unlimited patience, they're OK.

We got a next day early Saturday a.m. appointment and within 20-30 minutes he had x-ray and a diagnosis for surgery. Service was swift and staff was friendly and promised to call first thing Monday with details on surgery. Like clockwork we got the call and thus began the orchestration of pre-op labs and exam....stat as surgery was in a day and a half. We pulled it off, surgery went well and now the healing begins. This is my 2nd gig as a recovery coach, the 1st with my maman after her back surgery and this time with my guy's ankle. Can't say my bedside manner is stellar, but my cooking is terrific so no one goes hungry and my meals absolutely beat hospital food hands down. Ha! Turns out our next door neighbor knows Coastal Ortho well...she was treated by the team there and has only great things to report. My guy is in good hands and it's refreshing to know he'll be up and at 'em because of the fantastic care by the team there. Loads of parking. Easy to drive into and out of. I got referred to See the trainer for an ankle brace by my doctor . They had a lot of products but…read morenot in my exact size. So we spent a lot of time looking at different brands. She saw that I was wearing sandals without socks. The gal helping me kept asking if I had a sock. I said, no. Do you have a ped or socks I could buy from you? She was snarky and said, no. Kept telling me that these are all new products and all sales are final. She also mentioned twice that she did not want her braces to stink after I tried them on. WTH! That in itself is really insulting to say to customers. I am wearing new sandals and I just took a shower before I got there. I needed the brace to I just purchased the one that fit. The store does bill insurance for products and services but, she told me flat out that I would have to pay for the brace and bill my insurance if I wanted to be reimbursed. BY THE WAY, THE BRACE IS NOT REFUNDABLE AFTER YOU LEAVE THE STORE. Like I didn't hear it enough during our interactions. I won't be returning when I need to change to another brace in 6 weeks.

See The Trainer was the vendor that provided the brace (not my knowing). I only received one brace but See The Trainer insisted I got two and hired a collection agency to retrieve the money. I didn't even use the one brace I received and actually returned it to the store. But they insisted I got two and sent letters to my home and the collection agency continued to send letters, so I sent them money, and now, they have my brace (which I never used) and have my money (for the brace I never received). I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as I think they may be involved in some insurance scam or something. I hope you all have a better experience dealing with these guys.

The optimal window for this surgery is within 3 weeks of the injury, but because of the MRI delay, Dr. Nuccion wasn't able to do the surgery until 6 weeks after. 5 1/2 months later, I am still not fully recovered, but I am well on my way doing light pushups and resuming tennis. I don't know what full recovery looks like a couple of months from now in terms of my strength and athletic capacity compared to before, but it's 100% guaranteed to be far better than the massive limitations I would've had to live with for the rest of my life had Dr Nuccion not been able to pull off the surgery despite the delay.
