It was always crowded, super long wait and I barely understood the doctor. I finally took matters into my own hands, looked online and found Alohi Clinic. Although I can't speak from first hand experience with the appointment, my other half had no complaints. But what I can say is booking online was easy for me and when I had to adjust times, calling was just as easy. There is a code to get into the building, which they give you, and the waiting area is a good space nice cool and quiet. They offer services like facials, hair removal, etc. but they also are an internal medicine practice so you can come for normal PCP stuff. It's pretty great. The wait is quick, the front desk is friendly and the office is clean. So far it's been great with this clinic and I'm glad we found it.

It's been…read morea long time since we've had a primary care doctor, and I didn't realize how much I was missing that sense of genuine care until now. From our very first visit, Dr. Coelho made us feel completely at ease. He's incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, but what really stands out is the way he takes his time to explain everything clearly -- not just the "what," but the "why." You never feel rushed or like just another appointment on the schedule. There's something about the care he provides that feels personal and comforting -- almost like being "at home." That's hard to put into words, but it truly makes a difference. For the first time, I can honestly say I'll never dread going to see my primary care doctor again. If you're looking for a physician who combines professionalism, compassion, and genuine connection, I can't recommend Dr. Coelho at Alohi Clinic enough.

I am really glad that I decided to get a second opinion about this…read more I had gotten gestational diabetes while preggers. Now, it's supposed to go away after you give birth (or so I was told). The first endocrinologist that I was seeing had me on 3 different pills and 2 different insulins (which I had to take 4 shots a day). And let me tell you, I felt like complete crap every single day. Not from the diabetes, but from the medication. I was constantly going to the ER because my blood sugar would either drop too much (in the 40s) or spike up way too high (above 400+). She even told me that I may have kidney damage. My bosses wife and I were talking about it couple months ago, and she convinced me to see another doctor and get a second opinion. Doctor T, my internal med doc, referred me to Dr. Chan at Queens. This woman literally saved me. She was floored with the amount of medication I was taking and all of my ER visits. Turns out the first doctor over prescribed me on medication that I didn't need. No wonder my body was hating me daily! She took me off of all the medication. ALL OF THEM!!! And I now only take ONE pill!!! Which btw, has helped me greatly since my readings have been consistent in the 100's. I am elated!! The migraines that I used to get all the time because of this, hasn't been as frequent. I am loving this!! Despite being over medicated, turns out that I don't have kidney damage at all!! All of my organs are just fine. I've had other medical issue related to this and I can happily say that they have dissipated. She says that she wants to give it another 3-4 weeks to see how my blood test result will be at that time before she decides on a plan for me. Seeing that diabetes does run in the family on my dads side, it's inevitable that I will still have it. Which, I am okay with. Let me explain. I'm okay with it now, because I have a competent doctor who actually took the time to listen to my concerns and helped me with this. I hated all the pills and the shots. It depressed me. I cannot express enough just how much she has helped me!! I am eternally grateful for her. Seriously. If you are looking to get a second opinion or just in the market for a endocrinologist, I highly recommend Dr. Chan.

I worked, on 2 separate occasions for a medical research company in Honolulu reviewing the charts of the diabetic patients in the state of Hawaii (yes all the islands). I looked at Kaiser's patients charts and the private doctor's charts. Of the hundreds of patient's charts that I reviewed, Dr. Melish easily stood out as the physician who gave the most comprehensive (and also the Center for Disease Control recommended) care to his patients. He also has a clinic at Queen's Hospital. I see him at his private office in Kapiolani Hospital. He usually spends 45 minutes with me when I see him. I see him 3 times a year for my insulin dependent diabetes. Every visit he does a COMPLETE head to toe exam. My PCP refused to prescribe insulin for me. As a nurse practitioner myself, I knew that I needed insulin injections to control my diabetes. So I started seeing Dr. Melish who immediately put me on a short acting insulin to control my blood sugars when I eat. It is extremely rare to find this level of care provided by any physician in this day and age. He is a real gem! In fact, after I left the CDC diabetes study, the CDC started paying extra to physicians to give the care that they were already SUPPOSED to be giving to diabetic patients. Wish my many years of working 12 and 16 hour shifts that I had been paid "extra" amounts as an incentive to do the job that I already was supposed to be doing. If you have any type of endocrinology problem, go see Dr. Melish. He is the best.

Dr. Edward Lam is an exceptional physician who prioritizes his clients' care first and foremost. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful, caring, personable, compassionate and deeply dedicated to his patients and staff. After my appointment this past Tuesday, I left feeling completely satisfied with the services provided. Dr. Lam always takes the time to listen and answer all of my questions and concerns. He was extremely empathetic when I explained to him I had lost my mother to cancer. The administrative and clinical experience was just as wonderful as the medical care. The receptionists and medical staff are incredibly friendly, customer service oriented, and really fast through checking me out. Unfortunately, I was running a little late to my appointment so I called to let the staff know; they kindly told me to drive safely and that it was okay. Scheduling an appointment is easy because the staff are so quick and on top of everything--they even already scheduled me for my next annual appointment for next year. Another great asset to this office is the free validated parking in the basement structure, which is awesome! I am incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful and thorough doctor. Thank you, Dr. Edward Lam and staff!

Doctor Edward Lam tries to give fast and efficient service. I really appreciate how he tries to squeeze me in for an appointment. Doctor Edward Lam is really Smart and INTELLIGENT guy.
