Scott, the scammer, should be avoided at all cost. Based on some positive reviews, I brought my rover in for service. He scammed me out of a thousand dollar of totally made up BS work. My car had a sticky shifter that wouldn't stay in Drive, and he "supposedly" changed the entire shifter assembly for almost $800. The shifter got sticky again in 2 months and I brought it to a different mechanic, and he told me it is common for this car and the part cost only $30 and he said the shift assembly was never touched. Scott didn't even replace the necessary part for $30, I was told he only sprayed lubricant on the rust to loosen it so it got rusted and became sticky again. He also supposedly changed the intercooler seals for almost $300 including diagnostic. The engine light came right back on the way home. You can see attached invoice that I didn't make this up. This scumbag absolutely took advantage of people. If you are reading this, please don't fall victim like me to this scammer. Take your business elsewhere. Scott has been my mechanic ever since I moved back to the island and has always provided excellent and efficient service to my vehicle. I don't write reviews, but my most recent visit to Exhibition Imports is worth sharing. My car broke down and I had it towed to his shop. Within 30 seconds of arrival, Scott had the issue diagnosed and the necessary parts were ordered and shipped. I very much appreciate how transparently he communicates, as it makes me aware of everything that is going on with my vehicle (before, and after repairs are made). The parts arrived within an hour, and my car was running 30 minutes after that! Considering Scott's 25 years of experience in the industry and the expertise needed to operate his own shop, his labor happens to be very reasonably priced. Complete scammer. Be very leary he will try to take your truck by mis representing inssue at hand or making issue worst. Instead of taking procedural approach like compression test he will make big commotion and try to trick normal person into big job. There is a reason he only has 40 reviews mostly from.7 years ago. Most of the reviews are fake too just like his skills as a mechanic. You have been warned. Thank god for friends to guide me that he was doing wrong and making bill very high. We told him we would take truck home and he was shocked that we wouldnt leave it there. Then offered 500 bucks for it! After saying no he made up a bill of over 1000 dollars. I found Scott because I tried taking my Jetta to a very well reccomended local shop. They called me and told me they spent an hour and could not diagnose my car's problems and said to take it to the dealer. I figured one last shot in the dark and found Scott by internet search. Scott diagnosed my 2 check engine codes, determined that the broken sensor and thermometer (damn VW's) were the culprit, and had the car fixed by the end of the day. He was more than reasonable, very accomodating (he came in early to meet me before work and stayed late so I could pick up the car same day), and incredibly knowledgable. I feel so much more comfortable keeping my Jetta well past 150,000 miles knowing that Scott is around the corner. read more

I only trust my Touareg with Scott, who is truly a european car specialist. Many times I've asked him if something needs replacing / changing and he'll give you the honest truth. His rates are fair, and when he says he'll do something it gets done. Can't ask more of an independent mechanic. This is a marked contrast to local VW dealers, which will not only charge more but try and push unneeded work, or worse, screw things up that then need to be fixed by someone more competent - like Scott. read more

Scott is amazing! When my beloved 2004 Range Rover flashed a transmission error, I feared the worst. I did some digging online and came across Expedition Imports. I dropped my truck off for a diagnosis, and Scott gave me a full, detailed overview of all that had to be repaired, including the price for both parts and labor (which were incredibly fair!). He was very thorough and explained everything clearly (and patiently!). He called me with updates as he completed each stage of repairs and was very honest in terms of what needed fixing and what didn't. When I picked up my truck, it was like new! Scott showed me pictures of what he repaired inside the engine, as well as the actual parts he removed from the truck. He even called me a few days later to see how the truck was doing.
