Typical auto repair shop that sells you one thing and then can't deliver and upsells you. Had transmission needing to be rebuilt. Bring to Lake Auto, quote is $1850....two weeks go by (ugh) can't fix it with the guy they used....they have to send it to "the expensive" guy, now the quote is $2500.....THEY AGREED TO PROVIDE A FIXED TRANNY FOR $1850 AND NOW CANNOT AND WE HAVE TO PAY $700 MORE???? Then there's the every day unpleasantness of having to deal with these guys on the phone. "We'll call you back at (so and so time)" Never did, NOT ONCE, do what they said they were going to do. Don't understand that this makes them LIARS. Another 10 days go by and the "expensive" guy finally is finished. Van seems OK. Now it's leaking and we are back to the same old cycle of lies and delays. What is it with some mechanics who do not understand that they are also businessmen and really need to be professional. Dave continues to always take amazing care of all my vehicles without question. If something is broke..it gets fixed right the first time. He ALWAYS gives me an approximate amount of the cost of the repair and ALWAYS is above and beyond fair.
