Terrific tour of Saint Stanislaus church in Buffalo, the "mother church" of Polonia here. Two docents, who are church members, led the tour , explaining the naming of the church, its history, Polish history in Bufflalo and beyond. They were articulate, engaging, so knowledgeable. If possible, take this tour before the Buffalo diocese closes this church, too.

Recently got the explorer pass and went on our first tour of the season with it - Presidents of Buffalo. The tour guide was friendly and informative. It focused primarily on 4 presidents: - Grover Cleveland - Millard Fillmore - McKinley - Lincoln Our tour guide also shared bits of information on the other buildings we walked past. Explore Buffalo offers several tours each day and in many neighborhoods. They even have some bike tours! Online reservations are super easy, and the explorer pass is a good option if you plan on doing at least 3 tours in a year. I would recommend checking them out!

Had an amazing time taking the morning tour walk around Delaware Park! Claudia & Lynn are wonderful guides & it was great to learn about the area while taking a scenic stroll!

I attended the Explore Buffalo's West Side mob tour. This was led by tour guide Bob who had lots of stories and supporting photos of news articles about the events he talked about that made the stories that much more interesting. We had lots of questions on the tour and Bob had all the answers. At one point on the tour it started to rain and Bob was willing to continue his stories for anyone that wanted to stay! The tour was great and the customer service of Explore Buffalo was great as we had originally booked the Allen Town mob tour but due to cancellation they accommodated us to switch to this one seamlessly.

I attended the West Side Mob Tour and had a great experience. Our guide, Bob, was very knowledgeable and able to answer additional questions. He also had pictures of the people/news articles in his stories which helped bring them to life. The tour was a good value- $15 for 2 hrs. The walk was slow enough that the variety of ages in the group appeared comfortable. I definitely want to attend another of Explore Buffalo's tours in the future!

Ground-view of the Perot silos on the Silo City Vertical Tour

My sister-in-law and her husband have the Explorer Pass and couldn't recommend Explore Buffalo more highly for our visit. We took them up on the Leading Ladies of Delaware Ave tour and then again for the Silo City Vertical tour. Leading Ladies was a new tour for our docent, but you wouldn't have known it if she hadn't mentioned it. For a tour that admittedly wasn't "my pick", it was a really entertaining and enjoyable experience that flew by. Whether it was admiring the architecture of Delaware Ave or listening to tales of Buffalo society of yore and some of the "scandal" of the past, the tour had a little something for everyone. The Silo City vertical tour was "my pick" and it didn't disappoint at all. Our docent, Margaret, should be crowned "queen of the silos" if such a honorary title exists. She knew SO MUCH about the space that it was easy to imagine the facilities "coming to life" as we explored them. As someone with a fear of falling (less so the heights), this tour was totally manageable and well worth it. Margaret was upfront on the reality of the facility, but her experience and delivery completely makes you feel at ease. This is a hidden gem that seamlessly mixes unrivaled views, historical perspective and urban exploration. A hidden gem! Can't wait for our next trip to Buffalo to add more stops with Explore Buffalo.

We just did the Silo City Grounded tour with Larry. He's so full of stories and information, but more importantly a passion for Silo City and Buffalo history. He was great! The tour was fun, easy to walk, just the right length. If you ever wanted to get inside one of those grain silos and hear what they're all about, this tour is well worth it.

My husband and I took the City of Light tour on Saturday December 8th. The bus arrived at the Seminary on time and Denise and Rocco were friendly and excited to get started. Denise was very knowledgeable and anxious to share her extensive knowledge of the area with us. We were able to enter and your many of our stops, which was unexpected and appreciated. Rocco was an excellent driver and very helpful and accommodating. I would recommend this tour without reservation! We are trying the Silo tour next!!

The chute entrance into the canal is suited for anyone - but especially useful for elders or those with mobility issues. But the best part of Erie Canal Boat Company in Fairport is the owner Pete. He wants everyone to love boating and get the best experience possible. First he has and knows everything about the equipment and will get you perfectly situated for what you need to have an amazing time out on the water. What really shines is his personality though... Pete is a giver and is generous with his time, expertise and enthusiasm for paddling. He not only runs the shop, but helps get you in and out of the boat and safely in and out of the canal. He loves what he does and he loves helping you get out and enjoying the canal. His enthusiasm is contagious. He is simply THE BEST!!! We had the best time this morning and can't wait to spend many days this summer out on the water with Pete's help. Just be brave and go. It's the most wonderful feeling!

The water was clean in some parts and not in others. There were a few large branches we had to avoid. We got a quick good lesson on kayaking before we went into the water; it was very helpful. Our kayaking journey was absolutely beautiful. We passed a whole lot of ducks. They really kept us entertained. We passed a cute park, went through some gorgeous neighborhoods. Overall, there were a lot of trees on the shore by the canal so it felt very serene. I would recommend kayaking here! :)

Upon my arrival I was greeted by the new owner Chris who was as big a bike enthusiast as I was. Before we even talked about my bike we had a bit of a gabfest on the delights of cycling and bicycles in general. He was in his element and was like a kid in a candy store. We finally got down to discussing my bike and he was extremely knowledgeable not only about my bike but all bikes. He called me a week later to let me know the bike was ready. He explained to me on the phone what was done and the price, which was very fair. When I went to pick up my bike I was greeted by the previous owner Brian. He was just a pleasant and knowledgeable to deal with and clearly explained what repairs were done. He also pointed out a few things that might need tweaking so he adjusted both my gears and my seat to fit me properly. We had a great discussion about bicycles especially my brand. I also brought in an old 10 speed racing bike mine to see about "fixing her up" so I could ride it again but we both knew that the cost would be more than the bike was worth. He told me about the Broken Spoke Program (https://porthigh.dsbn.org/clubs/broken-spoke-bike) at Port Colborne High School where they take bicycles that need repair, fix them and donate them to kids/people who cannot afford a bike! What a great idea so I decided to donate this bicycle to the program. All in all it was a fantastic experience dealing with both Chris and Brian. And I am so grateful Brian was going to get my old bike to the Broken Spoke Program for me! I will be bringing my bicycles to them from now on. BTW they allow cyclists to use their restroom and give them water!!! Can't get any better customer service than that!Fantastic

Each bedroom is different and beautiful. We stayed in the Hummingbird Room which has a very comfortable king bed, a gorgeous built-in floor to ceiling armoire, and a large tub and rain shower in the beautiful bathroom. The B&B is located in a very cute residential part of Allentown, only a 6-10 minute walk to Allen Street with its many restaurants and shops. The three-course breakfasts and fresh juices that Mary Sue prepares and serves are different every day. Each meal is made from scratch and tasted heavenly. She is really an artist disguised as a chef, and I'm not sure we've ever had anyone who has cooked for us with such talent and care before. When we told her we couldn't eat that much in the morning, she quickly adjusted her menu to fit our needs. Daniel helped serve breakfast in the morning and gave us so many great suggestions for restaurants, places to see, best places to park, and more. There's a small shared fridge for guests on the first floor where we kept some food & leftovers which we really appreciated using. Staying at this gem of a B&B full of such kind, loving people, elevated our trip to Buffalo to a much higher level. We will definitely stay there again.
