We have received record amounts of rain lately so the course was cart path only. The course was wet in places but very playable and fantastic. Overall the course is in great shape and beautiful to the eye. We enjoyed the first 18 so much we played another nine. The staff here is friendly and accommodating. Clubhouse is nice and accommodating also. Tom Jackson designed a gem here and the staff has made it a must play with their conditioning. Treat yourself to a beautiful course that you will want to play again. We plan to return soon and enjoy it all over again!

Interesting museum including exhibits on Greenwood history and other collections…read more Admission is free and the museum is kid friendly as well. The ground level features panels about Greenwood and South Carolina history, including local Native American history, early settlers, and history up until the early twentieth century. There's also a theatre, a dry goods store, and a hat shop, all which were neat to walk into and look around. There was also space up front that was empty at the time. Downstairs there is some more local and non-local history exhibits. Upstairs there was a display about Self Regional which had a variety of interesting medical items. There was also a room about gems and minerals, a mine (which was very cool to walk through!) and an animal exhibit. There was also an art exhibit featuring artwork from local elementary school students. I really enjoyed the exhibits specific to Greenwood history, but also felt like there was quite a bit of empty space. The museum has an elevator to access all three floors. Because we came in March, the railroad center wasn't open, but we hope to see that the next time we're in town.

We have camped here twice, once in the fall and this time in late March. Both were unique in their own way with the fall trip taking the cake. On both trips the morning sun greeted us ablaze with colors only to be rivaled by its sunset as the long day closed upon us. Beautiful. Serene. The camping reservations are easy through the SC website and the prices very reasonable. Most sites have a view of the lake and several are right on it. We did notice this time (spring) that several locals booked their family vacation here during spring break. Sadly, several lugged all their crap from home with them: refrigerators, large grills, full-size kitchen ovens, awnings, boats, golf carts, bikes, dogs, and kids. The center of the campground looked like a hillbilly hoedown. People were kind and respectful, but damn, it's camping people! Overall, we like it here and we will return. Got the campfire just a smokin' on my "Give 'em a whirl" meter. Camp here (just leave your sh*t at home).

No one else was around and the breeze coming off the water was refreshing and cooling. The bottom of the lake was mostly sand. It was clean, quiet and the boys had a blast! The coaches just read some…read morerules a couple of weeks before hand and are volunteers, but you are basically paying $25 per play for nothing but coaches getting their kids some playing time. I can't believe Toros affiliated with them except for the fact they were going downhill, too. I have had kids of different ages playing soccer for 9 seasons. These coaches barely know the rules, and I have given them several chances thinking maybe they just got a bad team. ALL the teams are bad , don't practice, or give the kids any guidance.

Cute idea for kids. Plus plenty of diversions should you be traveling with kids. Nice dog run. The park is clean, quiet, far enough from the freeway noise, shaded, and well-kept. The pool was not yet open as it was still a bit cool. The staff were friendly and helpful. I found the gift shop nicely curated and beyond the usual RV TP, candy, and sodas. The park also does a fair amount of charity fund raising so go, enjoy, support their various charities.

When we arrived, KOA told us another group was staying longer and our reserved site was no longer available. They said their policy only guarantees types of sites, not exact spots -- but the alternative they offered was nowhere near as nice as the one we reserved. If you're just passing through and need a place to park, this KOA will work. If you're planning a family vacation and relying on the campground to honor a reservation, I wouldn't trust them to keep their word. Consider other campgrounds if your site and experience matters.

And given the option I'd rather just relax. I don't really exercise because, well frankly, it hurts. I see all these people running on the track or down the street and I have think to myself "why not drive? You get there faster and you can enjoy a delicious latte along the way." That being said, I must tell you that Disc Golf is quickly becoming one my favorite obligatory outdoor activities. Point yourself at the hole (which is large pole with a metal basket and a chain-link cage on top. It's the opposite of a hole, that name should change) and throw your disc. Did you miss? Kay. Walk to you disc and try again. Be sure to talk about the course, the wind variance, the deceptive nature of that poplar tree and how many proverbial points you can earn by taking out geriatrics. How fortunate was I to find out that Greenwood has it's own disc golf course? And where else? On a college campus. The course gets a little confusing if you're not a student and familiar with the campus' layout. It's designed to play in small games, with each section in one part of campus. The courses are very nice though, a good distance with a little bit of challenge to each one. I'd recommend this course for any casual player--it's not too bad to start out on, and if you've been playing for a while and you've got nothing else to do on a sunday afternoon (because hey, you certainly can't go get a drink...) then swing down to lander. Some of the most fun I've had for free.
