So sad. Almost every rose bed is drowning in grass and weeds. It's already May and it looks like this place has been forgotten. Please send help! We need a rosarian to save our roses.

The rose garden is a wonderful space to relax in a very busy part of LA. Parking is recommended at the underground structure or there's a rail line stop along exposition blvd. Our parking was $20. Do's and Dont's... Nothing wrong with planning a small picnic here as there are no restrictions. So yeah do that. DO NOT leave your trash behind. Cmon y'all...you were raised better than that. Take in the sights, colors and fragrance of the impressive collection of roses. Take all the pics you can. DO NOT cut and collect the roses for your selfish self. This happened on our visit and it was done by children. Parents were cool with it. (Face palm) The park also offers shady gazebos to chill in and a lovely fountain to take photos by. Just chill. And it's central to the near by museums too Stop by between the months of Mid-April to May for optimal bloom! See you there!

Springtime is the best time of year to view these gardens, the roses are blooming beautifully! Large variety of roses and the garden is huge. One could stroll for hours enjoying the blooms either before or after a visit to the museums. Plenty of parking in the museum lots for a fee. Don't miss it!

The rose garden is a nice place to visit if you happen to be in the area. I don't think anyone should go out of their way to make a trip out to the garden. Adjacent to the Natural History Museum, the Science Center and USC, it's not too difficult to make a quick stop to visit the gardens when you're in the area. Depending on the season you go, you may or may not be lucky concerning how the flowers may have blossomed. There isn't much shade in the gardens, and the fountain in the middle only works sometimes. But you can always find a rainbow colored umbrella donning some snacks and drinks in case you feel bit hungry or thirsty. Sometimes you will also see some pesky youth, or suspicious transients on the Exposition Boulevard side of the street, so be on your toes! They have some gazebos scattered throughout the garden, so if you're lucky, you can snag one of those spots to stop and smell the roses. The expo line is also nearby if you'd like to avoid parking fees.

The Exposition Park Rose Garden is a beloved spot to visit in Los Angeles for many good reasons. First, the rose garden is free to enter, making it an accessible and enjoyable outing for everyone. This sunken garden is steeped in history, dating back to 1927. It's a lovely place to relax and soak in the ambiance. With over 15,000 rose bushes boasting more than 100 varieties, the rose garden is a feast for the senses, especially during peak blooming season (April to November). With its vibrant flowers and picturesque setting, the rose garden is a popular spot for capturing memories. The day of my visit coincided with the commencement ceremony at UCLA so I saw graduates having their photos taken in the beautiful garden. I, myself, took a lot of selfies with the fragrant flowers. In the heart of bustling Los Angeles, the rose garden offers a tranquil escape from the city. It's a great place to unwind and appreciate the beauty of nature. I spent the rest of my afternoon sitting in one of the gazebos.

This park is something like 7-acres and the main draw is the sunken rose garden. They call it "one of the city's best-kept secrets" but really it's very popular so a large group of folks must have been let in on the confidential information . This is a great spot for photo ops among the more than 20,000 roses covering nearly 200 different varieties. It's always best when you can catch the roses in bloom which happens between mid-March top December so you have plenty of time to fit it into your schedule. The garden also features a giant fountain in the center, a gazebo, and several benches scattered throughout. Walk through the garden along the paths, take a break on the benches, or have a nice relaxing picnic. You might also catch weddings or other special events going on. There's room for everyone. The park is free but you'll probably have to pay for parking if you drive to get here, Exposition Park has a large mostly underground parking structure and that's what most people pay to use.

I know Miley reminded us we can buy ourselves flowers, but smelling them and taking them in (pops allergy pill) is even better!! The Rose Garden of Exposition Park is a full bloom garden of all sorts of flowers with easy pathways/trials to navigate. And nearby a gorgeous lavish water fountain. Depending on the time of year it can be a little wetter or damper (to be expected), however... On a nice sunny day, you'll see families, couples, cart vendors and merriment going on around the garden. Inside it's very relaxing. They do a great job upcoming and honestly seems like summer time is the best time to go. I think the last time I walked through or by was just before fireworks in July of 2019 and we were just south of the Rose Garden, very much in view. It's definitely taken on a lot more charm with time as well as color with the seasons - very close to the LA Memorial Coliseum and Natural History Museum. Worth a stroll anytime!

Don't let the name fool you, the garden has more to offer than just roses, but the roses are certainly a highlight! The garden features a number of different flowers, and in the center, you'll find a beautiful fountain. It's a very serene, and calm place to walk, picnic, or spend time alone. We stopped by during early June, and most of the flowers were still in full bloom. Definitely a good place to snap an IG pic or two.

Super gorgeous rose garden! I went there with my friend to take graduation pictures & it was phenomenal! It was a large enough garden that I didn't feel crowded with all the other students there for their prom. We went around 5/6pm and the lighting was so pretty. Highly recommend for prom or graduation pictures. Definitely don't be there alone at night because some homeless people were roaming around in the entrance.

If you love Roses then you'll love this place. Perfect place for a daytime #Date or a place to meditate and or relax. The garden is next to the Los Angeles California Science Center. There are four white Gazebos with Benches that provide shade and solitude. The Metro Rail is across the way too.

Free attraction in Los Angeles, California... I've had this Rose Garden bookmarked for years! We tried to visit, but weren't able to find the parking lot. I think there was an event taking place at the time and traffic was being diverted? Anyway, last night, on the way to the Banc of California Stadium, we passed by the Rose Garden from the Metro Station. We had parked in Downtown LA and caught the E line. Next time I'm in LA, I'll make it a point to walk through the Exposition Rose Garden! It looks beautiful already from the outside!

    Kaelene M.

The rose garden is a beautiful visit if you're in the area! It's a very large garden and even when there's a lot of people it doesn't seem too crowded. There's plenty of space to walk around or even have a picnic. Also, there's very cute gazebos everywhere in the garden! This is a great place to go to with friends or family! The roses here are always beautiful.

Squirrels and raccoons ate all the fruit, and rats spoiled many of the tomatoes. So I commissioned Raul at VGLA to construct 3 critter cages for fruit trees and one for a raised veggie bed. The results are spectacular. The custom redwood enclosures, utilizing 1/2" chicken wire and latches on the doors, will deter anything as small as a mouse or as large as a bear. AND, because they are as attractive as nice outdoor furniture, they fit into the landscape beautifully. The other day I looked out at the garden, and noticed a forlorn squirrel sitting on top of the cage enclosing my espaliered apple tree. He was unable to find a way to get inside and grab the luscious fruits starting to ripen, finally giving up and skipping away in frustration. Hah! The other day I picked the first ripe apricot, the best I've ever tasted, and reflected on how I can now go to bed every night frustration-free, knowing that all the fruits and tomatoes are safe, without worrying about poisons, pointless trapping, or repellents that never work.

It is with great gratitude and respect that I write this review of Lake Shrine because I found it…read moreto be the best free experience that the Los Angeles Basin has to offer and this is not an exaggeration, nor is commentary sponsored by ad funds. I am feeling pure and substantial admiration and thus I will try to convey it on to page in hopes of celebrating the gift of serenity this place offered me without asking for anything in return, from me. The serenity that this place induced within me, so quickly and firmly, was so strong that I dared to think of scenarios that would challenge it. Meaning I was so in peace in the Lake Shrine grounds, that I wondered what would disturb this seemingly unshakable peace? And my mind went to a dark place. I will eventually know the heart-woe of being an orphan and I wondered if my biggest grief would be lessened in this environment. I know that this was a quirky maybe even macabre way of describing the grandiose peace of this place but I wanted to be honest to the experience because the serenity offered by this place was extreme and unique because I had never felt something quite like it. Thus the question becomes: How did this place achieve this new sense of peace/serenity within me? First, the ground themselves were tranquility in soft, barely moving stillness. As soon as I was walking down the 100 or so steps to get to the bottom of this sunlit, open-air cathedral I felt the calming colors of nature all around me, plus the absence of city sounds. Like the freeway was near the Shrine. And I could hear it. But the traffic was not a reminder of a city near, it was more like rumors of cities that were somewhere in the horizon but not near because the stress of these distant cities and their bills and heinous crime did not belong amongst the quietly pulsating, encompassing peace. As I walked the grounds, I saw koi fish and a swan swimming amongst its central lake that was clear as I hoped my mind would be while engaging in the meditative practices that this placed offer. In fact, in one of the videos I clipped I followed a white koi with my video camera. As it swam in the water that was not hit by sunlight the fish was white. As it continued to swim to the part of the lake that had water hit by sun, the koi fish turned a little bit green, like a turqouise shade. And I thought about why the fish would turn green, just slighthly? And that is is where I understood that the clear blue water and the yellow sunlight came together to make green. In fact, the play of light across the grounds was one of the reasons why I loved! this place. I took a picture of a tree drenched with sunlight. But to my eye, the tree did not get covered with sunlight, it was more adorned in sunlight. Like the green was present and the yellow light was present, but they did not become one, it was like the skin of a female was covered in golden lace. Take these moments and add the duo of mingling butterflies I spotted, the small but mighty waterfall, and all of the majestic roses around I feel great comfort in describing this place an Eden of curated nature. I was also fortunate enough to arrive at a time where I could wait an hour and attend one of their guided meditations, inside a windmill. And this was an experience that made me feel the power of meditation in full scope. At the end, the guide, asked all of us to say om three times. The first time I joined, the second time I did too, but in the third om I remained quiet. I heard the symphony of om's around me and together they made music that verberated within my skin. I did not feel goosebumps, instead I felt my skin shimmer with waves that come an in-rest mind. The meditation focused on feeling love from the heart and have it encompass us, our neighbors, our family, and all people who claim the world their earth. The words of the guide, the peace of the spot, the sounds that could not be heard but felt, made me feel like I was pulsating with love vibes that were being transmitted from me to all in golden, circular vibes. Like I said when I first started to write this Yelp, I am not exaggerating, those images and feelings came to my mind. What I fear is that I will visit this place a second time and not feel the wonders of my first visit. I mean that is a common situation, people will never feel the same pleasure they first felt, when they heard their favorite song. I asked a working gardener if he ever lost the love for the wondrous garden surrounding him. He said never. I hope he was right. I don't plan to go hear regularly, but enough for the peace to feel needed and true. I also took a tour of the garden with another guide. She described the lotus frame next to the lake as a "wallless temple" which made a lot of sense. I was at a pier not too long ago after my visit. And I was at the pier's edge facing the water and I realized this was also a wallless temple. I hope this Yelp is a peace pulse, too!

Naturally, it's popular for weddings but has also been used for events & parties. I've attended many fashion shows here during LA Fashion Week. The venue is charming and the courtyard is a lovely spot for receptions. I recently came here for a cocktail seminar - TOTC. Some aspects of the church remain, including the beautiful hardwood floors, altar, confessionals, & choir area. Tastings were held in the cathedral and classes in the adjacent building, which was once the rectory. The staff here were all friendly and accommodating. It is a lovely & functional venue for events. *Metered street parking or lot across the street $12.

The experience was magically beautiful from the moment we stepped inside. Vibiana's historic elegance, immersive visuals created an atmosphere that felt timeless and enchanting. Walking through the space honestly felt like time traveling back to the 1800s, with a romantic, cinematic vibe reminiscent of Bridgerton. The lighting, architecture, and overall ambiance transformed the cathedral into something truly extraordinary grand, dramatic, and full of old-world charm. It was the perfect setting to envision a gala: sophisticated, immersive, and memorable. If you're looking for a venue that blends history, art, and a sense of magic, Vibiana Cathedral is absolutely stunning and leaves a lasting impression. 4 stars as we felt rushed and didn't fully sit down for the pricing.

I loved the solitude and being able to experience this place. Of course my favorite was the giant panorama, the shenging panorama. So beautiful and intricate. I loved watching how the lights interacted with the paintings and really brought it to life. The garden was lovely as well. Spending a few moments out there was wonderful. Cute little trip to this Panorama! I've never explored one before and it was great going doing so.

To the left of the main entrance is "the only Arctic Trading Post in the Lower 48" exhibit, which already sets the tone for how quirky and unexpected this place is. From there, you continue down the right side of the building and up a winding staircase, and you're transported to a Shengjing Panorama. This is a massive 360 painting and diorama of Shenyang city from 1910-1930. The lights and sound effects bring the cityscape to life, making the whole experience immersive. Interestingly, this panorama section used to be an old circular Chinese takeout restaurant on Hollywood Blvd. Once you're doen make your way back down, you'll see the main theater that has a number of quirky displays and chachkies. We were there early enough before their movie screening of the evening, so we got to walk around a bit. Then past the past doors, you'll stumble upon a lovely hidden garden filled with unique details and decor. Now, the technical details. They don't have a parking lot, so only street parking. Entrance fee is $7 ($5 for Seniors or Students). You book your appointment online, but everything is self-guided. Stay as little or as long as you'd like. You can get through the exhibit fairly quick, but we made sure to take our time and soak in the quirky and uniqueness of this place!
