We got married here a few months ago, and it was absolutely perfect. This venue is perfect if you want to add your own personal touches as it can be as diy as you want with decor, or if you have the budget to get your own personal vendors they allow outside ones! I love that you can provide your own catering, we had our family business cater the food for our event and that was nice because no other venues we looked at allowed that. Our wedding coordinator Katie put in so much work for our wedding and we are so grateful for everything she did for us. She gets things done! My best tip for someone looking to book is to be very organized and clear with every item you want if you are planning to bring your own decor, they are great and will get it done! But being organized will make things easier. The venue closes at 10pm, but we were able to book an area 12 minutes away at one of the bars in Downtown Fullerton. We had a good turnout of guests there for the After Party! We got so much compliments on our beautiful wedding and ceremony, and many compliments on the venue. The Griffith House was great venue to take photos and have our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception dinner - all in one place. We started planning our July wedding in January 2022, and we wanted to have everything outside so that guests wouldn't worry about masking indoors during the time of Covid. The Griffith House has huge space for everything. The other great thing that others have already mentioned is that, other than table, chair, and bar rentals, you get to choose your own vendors and bring your own alcohol - provided you pay for their bartender and security, of course. You do have to work with (and pay) one of their in-house day-of coordinators from Hutchinson Weddings, but Amy, who we we worked with, was very helpful working through the rentals that we used from the venue, as well as coordinating our outside vendors on the day of the wedding. We really wanted to choose our own caterer and bakeries, to choose wines and beers that we liked, and to bring my own pro audio equipment for the ceremony and music. My wedding was 2 months ago and I am just now writing this review. The venue was exactly what I was looking for; A simple but elegant and it was that and more. I originally was hoping to find an all inclusive venue, but this venue was way too beautiful too pass up. They offer the necessary rentals; like tables, chairs, dance floor, bartenders, etc. but most importantly... A DAY OF COORDINATOR! My coordinator was Amy & I have to say.. Amy is a freaking angel! She's amazing! She is on top of her work. She literally helped me so much. Let me tell you... I am one of the biggest procrastinators and the most disorganized human beings. Which is why I had nothing extra at my wedding besides the basics. A lot was going wrong the day of my wedding on my end... and Amy just had a solution for everything. My makeup artist was probably not going to show up and I didn't even realize that.. thanks to Amy I found out because she had spoken to her. My photographers were having a disagreement about timing (not my fault) but Amy just put her foot down and spoke to them for me. I couldn't be more thankful. After the ceremony it began to rain and Amy and I were just in shock and she was just checking the weather to make sure it would end soon. Mind you, it was Labor Day weekend.. one of the hottest weekends! My DJ was just not playing music for a while and it was just awkward... Amy went ahead and spoke to him while I took pictures. She is just the GIRL! While I feel bad that I am probably one of her most disorganized brides she has had to work with... she is definitely someone who is so great at her job. My husband and I opted for a smaller ceremony with an extended cocktail hour rather than a full reception. Even to the last minute changes, details, and small hiccups, Diana (the venue/day-of-coordinator) did an amazing job and was accommodating. She helped streamline the process with what we wanted, which was very helpful because we didn't hire an actual wedding planner. We chose all our vendors ourselves (except the bartender, which has to be through the venue), and if you have no idea, she has a list of vendors that have worked with Griffith House before. The venue itself is very lovely, with the bridal suite inside the actual Griffith House (and it's air conditioned!). I personally love Spanish styled buildings mixed with greenery, so this place was right up my alley. We had the ceremony outdoors and it was so nice and relaxed, and because of the greenery, it didn't feel too hot. The venue does not allow hard alcohol, so just FYI for those wanting cocktails and whatnot! read more

This venue is truly a hidden gem. We couldn't have been happier with our decision! Our wedding was 150 people, and we did an indoor ceremony in sanctuary with an outdoor reception, in the middle of May. Beautiful: The venue is seriously beautiful, especially in the summer wedding peak season. We took all of our wedding photos on site since there were so many different and lovely natural backdrops to choose from all over the place, both inside and out. It is also a very cozy venue (the sanctuary holds only 200-250 people I think), which was really nice. Logistically Convenient: My husband really wanted an indoor church ceremony, and I wanted an outdoor reception, and we chose this venue because it had both, within 100 feet of each other! Meaning no transportation needed between multiple venues. Yes! Additionally when you book the venue, you essentially get it for the full day, and Diana was so accommodating to let us bring equipment on the night before to minimize day-of logistics. Vendor Flexibility: The only thing you need to go through the venue is equipment rentals for tables, chairs, dance floor, and ceremony sound. This actually turned out to be very cost effective since we got to hire our our caterer, though the equipment rentals and venue costs were slightly pricier than we had originally anticipated (it was totally our bad for not factoring certain nuances into our budget more). HOWEVER! In the end, we felt the costs were very reasonable, especially given the service and execution throughout the day. Also we did compare our costs to what it would have costed with a full service outdoor venue (which usually forces you to use their catering), and we do think we saved ~$20-25 per head by going with this venue. Wedding Coordination (Pre-Wedding): Diana is so nice, so laid back, and was amazing in communicating with us, the vendors, and the guests on site, both before the wedding and on the day of. She is very experienced with wedding coordination, and also oversees weddings at other venues in Southern California as well. The other thing is she was very calm and addressed all of our questions promptly and gave lots of good suggestions for details we wouldn't have thought of. As a bride, this was so crucial to me to be able to trust the coordinator, since there's already so many other things you need to worry about! Wedding Coordination (Day Of): The day-of execution was flawless. Diana and her assistant Amy were very experienced and professional and constantly reassuring to make sure everyone was relaxed and on the same page throughout the day, and they set up the decorations even better than I could have myself!! Very rarely do I come across people as logistical and detail-oriented as me, haha. If I drove her crazy with my OCDness, Diana never showed it one bit. Our ceremony decorations, reception centerpieces, table numbers, bridge decor, and miscellaneous details were all meticulously taken care of and set up exactly according to our detailed (and probably very annoying) specifications! Diana and Amy also helped us to improvise when we ran into technical difficulties. Diana was calm but firm in helping us wing it, which was extremely professional and so helpful. Cleanup: Cleaning up everything here is a breeze! We had our wedding party help out, but dismantling equipment and cleaning up venue and collecting all the decorations comes with the venue, and Diana and Amy were so helpful in making sure we had everything packed up and off site. Overall I couldn't recommend this venue and Hutchinson Wedding's enough. I can't wait until we get our wedding photos to be able to post better pictures of the venue. PS. Wow! Just WOW! The Griffith House was the perfect place for our special day, and our event coordinator, Amy, was the absolute best!!! My wife was looking all over Southern California for a venue that fit our budget and style, and from the moment we walked the grounds, we knew this place was special. Amy's kind demeanor mixed with her enthusiasm and transparency about the typical hidden costs of most wedding venues, and how The Griffith House is different, all made us feel like this was the place for us. From day one, throughout the entire 6 month process, Amy was extremely communicative, professional, and patient. She would check in on occasion to give a little reminder about upcoming info needs or payments, and was always available to chat about pro's and con's of certain ideas we had and always there to lend helpful advice on what she had seen work well in the past, but also excited to help us try new things! She never pushed costs on us and was always thrilled when we said we would be doing things DIY to save money, and those little things really made us feel like Amy was family, like she was just as excited for our day to be as special as possible for US, as we were. I'll be the first to admit that one person I never thought about having was an Event Coordinator (especially with our budget) but I'm SO SO SO grateful Amy's expertise and constant aid was part of the venue fee, because just about every hour of the wedding my wife and I would turn to each other and say "Oh my gosh, I can't imagine not having Amy right now!!!" - Even before the wedding, Amy gathered all our vendors' info, contacted them with a digital layout of the venue grounds and vendor setups, coordinated the timeline with our DJ, set-up many of our table decor and gave a hand and helpful advice on many of the DIY setups we made, and kept us on track to be ready by 3pm when the ceremony began. Throughout the night she worked with our photographer and DJ to make sure everything went off without a hitch! Amy kept us on our timeline, gave us room to push certain things to have more time with people where we needed, reassured us when we thought we were running behind but actually had 17 minutes to enjoy what we were doing, held us to some of our original ideas (and so grateful she did cus they were some of the highlights!!!) made sure we had water when we were shuffling from one photo to the next, made sure we had food ready at our table when we sat down, and overall felt like our wedding mom, our friend, and our greatest asset to making it the most magical day of our lives! We even had a get-together the day after for any remaining family still in town, and I got soooo stressed and it totally fell apart, and I turned to my wife at one point and said "this is what our wedding would have been like without Amy haha" - and it's true! In a straight stitch with a sewing machine, the top thread is woven through the fabric, and the bobbin thread is used to create a backbone for the top thread to hold onto. Even if all of the top thread is removed, the backbone is still unbroken. For us, Amy was this backbone, holding the entire night together even if little threads tore here and there. She made our night magical and memorable and the best night of our lives. I just had my wedding reception there on 4/15/2023 and let me tell you, the venue is gorgeous! As soon as I toured it, I knew that it was the one. It's a beautiful and rustic location with a garden vibe and very spacious for lots of things. My venue coordinator Amy was soooooo sweet and helpful and it was such a pleasure to work with her! I honestly can not be grateful enough to Amy for how much she helped me. The venue allows you to pick your own vendors and alcohol-which was exactly what I was looking for. This venue was a dream and everything my husband and I hoped for! The house is a beautiful back drop for our reception and the string lights and chandelier are nice touches at night. Myra was so accommodating and wonderful to work with. She genuinely cared about us and took care of everything that day so our wedding ran smoothly. There are also separate bridal and groom suites inside the house which was so convenient for our wedding party. Diana helped us tour the venue at the beginning, answered all of our questions and we even called and emailed afterwards asking for additional info and she was extremely helpful and responsive. Recently attended a wedding here and had a great time. There was lots of parking available and nice areas for both the ceremony and reception. Lots of landscape and lighting throughout the space. If your going for an event during the day we'd recommend an umbrella as there is only shaded areas around the edges. Also would not recommend heels as most of the space is grass. If you are having your own event there and plan to have your own food there they just don't have a full kitchen to work with. read more

We had our wedding here on 7/22/22 and absolutely loved the Griffith House as a venue for both ceremony and reception! So many of our guests commented about how this was "the perfect venue." Some highlights of working with the Griffith House included: - wedding coordinator: Amy was so helpful throughout the entire process. I had dozens of questions for her when we toured the venue that she answered with clarity; she even spoke with me over the phone for follow up questions prior to signing the contract. She responded fairly quickly to emails throughout the planning process. On the actual wedding day she was so on top of the timeline and saw to so many behind the scenes details. - booking pricing: I found their contract very straightforward. We found it reasonably priced compared to many of the "all-inclusive" packages at other venues. The contract allowed us to pick many of our own vendors (catering, DJ, etc) excluding the bartender. They do charge for every little thing (ie: price per napkin, price per upgraded glasses, price per table), but the specificity of the rental invoices helped me monitor my budget. - location/aesthetic: it was so dreamy there for a 4:30pm summer wedding. I absolutely loved the lights, the look of the house, the outdoor ceremony space...everything!! There is occasional traffic noise as the venue is right by the street, but it was only distracting at one point during the entire day's events. Plenty of parking as well! read more

We had our ceremony and reception at the Griffith House. The venue is beautiful; simple yet elegant. This venue fit us like a glove plus it had everything we were looking for. We were able to book our own caterer, bring our own alcohol plus they have a huge parking lot for guests. The tables, chairs and decorations were beautifully placed and moved when the reception came along. We loved working with Diana Hutchinson! She created our wedding exactly as I envisioned it. It's one thing to have an idea, it's a much greater undertaking to make it reality and that's exactly what Diana and her team did. She was really easy to work with and very communicative. My sister got married here about 2 years ago and the setting is so perfect. My dream wedding would be something small and intimate, in an outdoors garden setting and this place is perfect. So many trees to hang the cute whimsical lighting or paper lanterns. Lots of green and plants. You can get married in the chapel and have the reception in the garden just a few steps away. I got married here in December 2015, so I'm late on this review, but I highly recommend this venue! It's very affordable but doesn't sacrifice quality. Like another reviewer mentioned, the flexibility of this place was a big determining factor in selecting it. There are lots of wedding venues that have tons of restrictions and additional charges, which didn't fit with the vibe we were going for, so it was good to know that we had a lot of customized options available for our wedding. Since it was winter time and the weather could be a bit unpredictable, my wife and I went with one of the indoor options. It was a perfect size for our 100-120 guests and the wider layout of the venue allowed for a more intimate feel where everyone had a good seat, unlike much larger venues that are on the longer end and can have guests feeling far from the action. After the ceremony, the garden area was a perfect place to take pictures with everyone, including the formal pictures with our wedding party. Myra Allen was an excellent coordinator throughout the whole process and maintained open communication at all times! We had lots of questions and she was able to meet with us or make the venue available upon request. Due to family coming from out of town, we had to switch our rehearsal date a couple of times, but Myra was patient and accommodated us. Planning a wedding can be stressful for some, so her professional but easygoing approach would help put anyone at ease! The only slight drawback (at least back then) was that their credit card machine was down, so we had to pay by personal check. I had my wonderful wedding at the Historic Griffith House in August 2016! We chose the venue for the outdoors vibes, the convenience of ceremony & reception in one place, the availability to choose your own caterer, & the fact that it could hold 300 people. There were other added bonus, such as Diana (day of coordinator & main contact person), air conditioned & roomy bridal suite, and convenient parking for guests. Diana really helped this experience be special & low stress. She typically answered any of mine or my mother's questions within 24 hours and gave us lots of helpful tips & thoroughly answered all our questions. She was very accommodating and went out of her way to meet up with my mom to collect the security deposit & let my mother come see the set up for a different wedding. Diana was also great the day of! She remained very calm throughout the process & directed people where they needed to go/what they needed to set up. We really couldn't have done it without her! I would highly recommend the Griffith House to anyone looking for an outdoor venue. There was a lot of space for a photo booth, lawn games, and anything else that you want. We received a lot of compliments about the lighting & set up. The only two cautions I would like to put out there for future brides is fully read the contract. The costs are specifically stated, I just forgot about them or didn't fully account for them, which upped the price of our wedding. Secondly (& lastly) the bridal suite is not available until 10:30am (I think), which can throw off the timing for hair & make-up if you have a larger bridal party. I just got married at The Griffith House on 4/10/21. The venue is absolutely beautiful! The little house on site has so many great picture opportunities and of course the outdoor courtyard is filled with lush greenery all around. Our dance floor and tables sat right under hundreds of twinkling market lights and made everything looks so beautiful as the evening went on. There is on site parking, multiple hotels around the area and a bride and groom suite within the house. I can't not say enough about Diana, the venue coordinator!!!!!!! She is amazing!! I had so many questions throughout the planning process and she ALWAYS responded quickly, politely and was extremely helpful!!! I never felt like I was bothering her by reaching out and we had a few issues with our caterer the day of the wedding and she was there to take care of it all! My husband and I had our wedding ceremony at the First Congregational Church of Anaheim (FCCA) chapel and had our reception on the grounds of the Griffith House on 10/11/14. I just have to say.. our wedding was perfect! First of all, when we we searching for the venue, I did a tiresome search on garden reception areas near the Long Beach area. There were many cute places, but some were way out of our price range and/or were not flexible about bringing in our own vendors (my husband and I wanted to have Korean catering at our wedding since it tastes so good!). After I looked through the Griffith House/FCCA websites, I found out that not only did this site have the lighted garden reception area that I dreamed of, but it also allowed us to bring in our own caterers and it was just steps away from a chapel site that could fit our large guestlist of 300 (my husband wanted to get married inside a church). Once we previewed the site in person, we knew this place was the one! The chapel is short but wide. We liked how the chapel was shaped because it allowed the whole group to have a good view of us (and I liked how I didn't have to walk a nerve-wracking mile down the aisle!). Some decor was provided, but not much was needed other than some flowers. We would recommend however, that they improve on their sound tech. The reception area was absolutely GORGEOUS! We had our cocktail hour while the sun was still up, so all our guests were able to see the luscious greenery and the kids were able to run around and play. Once the reception started, the sun started to set, which created such a beautiful view. And when the sun actually set, the lights went on and it was stunning. We had so many friends and family say how pretty our venue was. I could have not agreed more. During the reception, my husband and I were telling each other how it all felt like a dream as were sitting at our sweetheart table and looking around at all our family and friends in the midst of the lights. We worked with Myra, the coordinator at the church. She was a God-sent blessing to us! She was so flexible, chill, and accommodating. She listened to our concerns and was very good with communicating with us without stressing us out. Even on the wedding day, she worked so well with our day-of coordinator and the vendors that my husband and I literally had no worry in the world, but still had the perfect wedding. We held our wedding reception at the Griffith House in May 2016, and I can't be any happier with the way it all turned out. The Griffith House is so incredibly charming, and it was really what we had envisioned for our reception: a beautiful, open space where our family and friends could mingle, celebrate, and just enjoy time together. The experience was all made so wonderful by Hutchinson Weddings, who assisted is in day of coordination, but really were there from start to finish during our wedding planning. We started off working with Diana, and then transitioned to working with Amy as our primary coordinator. From the beginning these amazing ladies assured us that our wedding would turn out the way we wanted and that's exactly what we got. We were able to have complete say and customization in our wedding, from our vendors, to set up--every tiny little detail we were able to plan, and on the day of Amy made sure that everything was to our specifications. From set up in the morning, to handling crises during the wedding, to clean up at night, there wasn't anything that Hutchinson weddings didn't handle. They helped make everything look so beautiful, and I cannot recommend them or this lovely wedding location enough. read more

Had our wedding here on April 4th. Both me and my wife were SO pleased with everything and everyone involved from The Griffith House and Hutchinson Weddings. I was in constant contact with Diana via email for the whole year leading up to the wedding, she was always willing to answer my questions quickly and helped me out with so many of the details. Amy was also super amazing the day of the wedding. The grounds were perfect for our wedding!!! We had the ceremony in the chapel and the reception in the garden, it couldn't have been more perfect... will post pics as soon as I get the professional ones :D. but all in all, 10/10 would DEFINITELY recommend. read more

I also want to thank Myra Allen for all her work. She was a good communicator and vital to making the ceremony go as scheduled. The touches she provides, like the votive candles and candlesticks add to the warmth of the chapel atmosphere. Tom and I so appreciated all of her help with coordinating the day, and her positive and kind attitude. We shopped around a lot, looking for a well-priced venue with some charm. This site really fit the bill! I only did my ceremony here, but it went smoother than the reception- a testimony to Myra's skill (the reception was great and so was the venue, but we didn't have a coordinator there and it made all the difference). I had my wedding at the Griffith House and the venue is gorgeous! The garden setting is perfect, and the string lights add such a nice touch. Amy and Megan, the venue coordinators, were so great to work with. I postponed my wedding a year and Amy just moved our date no problem. She was flexible and communicative, and I can't stress enough how much she and Megan made the day of the wedding go so smoothly! My husband and I got married here June 25 and we had the most beautiful ceremony and reception, thanks to Myra and her crew! This is a late review but better late than never. I got married a year ago in June. The first thing that drew me to this place was the charming Griffith House and the beautiful chapel inside. Myra the wedding coordinator was amazing! She was so helpful and easy to communicate with through the entire planning process. she made everything easy and stress free. She works directly with the vendors so you don't have to worry about anything. The food selection was great and everyone told us how good the food was on our wedding day. Where to begin... The Griffith House was the perfect venue for our wedding. Right from the start we knew we loved the venue just based off the history of the building (built in 1919), Diana our wedding planner, and the fact that we could have the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception at the same place. We had a tentative wedding date that was dependent on some work trips, which Diana made scheduling that very easy for us. She made great recommendations, especially the band (The Class) and we were allowed to use any vendor we wanted without any additional charges. The Griffith House alone was reasonably priced and the rentals they got for us were also reasonably priced. The day of Diana made our lives EASY. She set up everything (which if you can't tell from our pictures that's A LOT), kept us on schedule, and made sure we were stress free and fed. Overall we can't thank The Griffith House enough for making our special day absolutely perfect! Highly recommend this for anyone looking to have a spectacular wedding on a budget. read more
