My wedding was 2 months ago and I am just now writing this review. The venue was exactly what I was looking for; A simple but elegant and it was that and more. I originally was hoping to find an all inclusive venue, but this venue was way too beautiful too pass up. They offer the necessary rentals; like tables, chairs, dance floor, bartenders, etc. but most importantly... A DAY OF COORDINATOR! My coordinator was Amy & I have to say.. Amy is a freaking angel! She's amazing! She is on top of her work. She literally helped me so much. Let me tell you... I am one of the biggest procrastinators and the most disorganized human beings. Which is why I had nothing extra at my wedding besides the basics. A lot was going wrong the day of my wedding on my end... and Amy just had a solution for everything. My makeup artist was probably not going to show up and I didn't even realize that.. thanks to Amy I found out because she had spoken to her. My photographers were having a disagreement about timing (not my fault) but Amy just put her foot down and spoke to them for me. I couldn't be more thankful. After the ceremony it began to rain and Amy and I were just in shock and she was just checking the weather to make sure it would end soon. Mind you, it was Labor Day weekend.. one of the hottest weekends! My DJ was just not playing music for a while and it was just awkward... Amy went ahead and spoke to him while I took pictures. She is just the GIRL! While I feel bad that I am probably one of her most disorganized brides she has had to work with... she is definitely someone who is so great at her job. You can tell she loves what she does and my family and I are so happy we met someone who is just so bubbly and amazing. (This review was suppose to be done 2 months ago, but here I am doing it late! Better late than never!)

My husband and I opted for a smaller ceremony with an extended cocktail hour rather than a full reception. Even to the last minute changes, details, and small hiccups, Diana (the venue/day-of-coordinator) did an amazing job and was accommodating. She helped streamline the process with what we wanted, which was very helpful because we didn't hire an actual wedding planner. We chose all our vendors ourselves (except the bartender, which has to be through the venue), and if you have no idea, she has a list of vendors that have worked with Griffith House before. The venue itself is very lovely, with the bridal suite inside the actual Griffith House (and it's air conditioned!). I personally love Spanish styled buildings mixed with greenery, so this place was right up my alley. We had the ceremony outdoors and it was so nice and relaxed, and because of the greenery, it didn't feel too hot. The venue does not allow hard alcohol, so just FYI for those wanting cocktails and whatnot!

This was the outdoor ceremony setup (not finished yet).

I couldn't have picked a better place to get married! The Griffith House is beautiful from every angle. You can take pictures almost anywhere and they come out perfect! Like someone said, it is a hidden gem! Diana and Amy are wonderful human beings to work with! I worked with Amy the most and she was exceptional (even more so--she was expecting and still the best! I wish I could have gotten a picture with you Amy!). It is a beautiful place to tie the knot if you want an outdoor wedding. I had many guests ask and comment about the venue. I cannot state how wonderful Amy and Diana are to work with and they take into consideration your thoughts, concerns, and budget! Thank you so much ladies for making my wedding day come true! I will post a few pictures to get an idea.

Ceremony in the sanctuary. The aisle runner comes with the package, as does the black iron-wrought partition in the back (with tealights).

This venue is truly a hidden gem. We couldn't have been happier with our decision! Our wedding was 150 people, and we did an indoor ceremony in sanctuary with an outdoor reception, in the middle of May. Beautiful: The venue is seriously beautiful, especially in the summer wedding peak season. We took all of our wedding photos on site since there were so many different and lovely natural backdrops to choose from all over the place, both inside and out. It is also a very cozy venue (the sanctuary holds only 200-250 people I think), which was really nice. Logistically Convenient: My husband really wanted an indoor church ceremony, and I wanted an outdoor reception, and we chose this venue because it had both, within 100 feet of each other! Meaning no transportation needed between multiple venues. Yes! Additionally when you book the venue, you essentially get it for the full day, and Diana was so accommodating to let us bring equipment on the night before to minimize day-of logistics. Vendor Flexibility: The only thing you need to go through the venue is equipment rentals for tables, chairs, dance floor, and ceremony sound. This actually turned out to be very cost effective since we got to hire our our caterer, though the equipment rentals and venue costs were slightly pricier than we had originally anticipated (it was totally our bad for not factoring certain nuances into our budget more). HOWEVER! In the end, we felt the costs were very reasonable, especially given the service and execution throughout the day. Also we did compare our costs to what it would have costed with a full service outdoor venue (which usually forces you to use their catering), and we do think we saved ~$20-25 per head by going with this venue. Wedding Coordination (Pre-Wedding): Diana is so nice, so laid back, and was amazing in communicating with us, the vendors, and the guests on site, both before the wedding and on the day of. She is very experienced with wedding coordination, and also oversees weddings at other venues in Southern California as well. The other thing is she was very calm and addressed all of our questions promptly and gave lots of good suggestions for details we wouldn't have thought of. As a bride, this was so crucial to me to be able to trust the coordinator, since there's already so many other things you need to worry about! Wedding Coordination (Day Of): The day-of execution was flawless. Diana and her assistant Amy were very experienced and professional and constantly reassuring to make sure everyone was relaxed and on the same page throughout the day, and they set up the decorations even better than I could have myself!! Very rarely do I come across people as logistical and detail-oriented as me, haha. If I drove her crazy with my OCDness, Diana never showed it one bit. Our ceremony decorations, reception centerpieces, table numbers, bridge decor, and miscellaneous details were all meticulously taken care of and set up exactly according to our detailed (and probably very annoying) specifications! Diana and Amy also helped us to improvise when we ran into technical difficulties. Diana was calm but firm in helping us wing it, which was extremely professional and so helpful. Cleanup: Cleaning up everything here is a breeze! We had our wedding party help out, but dismantling equipment and cleaning up venue and collecting all the decorations comes with the venue, and Diana and Amy were so helpful in making sure we had everything packed up and off site. Overall I couldn't recommend this venue and Hutchinson Wedding's enough. I can't wait until we get our wedding photos to be able to post better pictures of the venue. PS. Not enough character limits to give credit to our photographer for some of the pics I posted, but she's amazing also: https://www.yelp.com/biz/melissa-j-soule-photography-newport-beach Read my review for her here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/melissa-j-soule-photography-newport-beach?hrid=6BsK7zQpJtttWiJViPOUew

It takes a special type of person to coordinate an important event in one's life. Our wedding was a beautiful, heartfelt experience and we couldn't have done it without the team at Griffith House. Dianna with Hutchinson Weddings was an incredible coordinator that focused on detail and incorporated delightful communication with our timeline. Leading up to our special day, Dianna was very easygoing to connect with and helped with any questions we had in the planning process. On the day of the wedding, Dianna and her team handled each situation with such grace and professionalism that allowed for a personal touch. My husband and I felt well taken cared of by the Griffith House team and it's incredible amenities, professional vendors recommended, and gave us the best wedding we could have hoped for. Thank you Griffith House!

The Griffith House was the absolute best place for our wedding! This place was absolutely stunning. Our wedding was last Saturday, April 24th 2021 and wow, I'm still blown away. Every single guest loved the venue. The Griffith House's garden is lovely and at night the atmosphere is beautiful. It really becomes an enchanted garden once the sun sets and the twinkle lights are on. I have no doubt we picked the most perfect place for our wedding. What made our wedding so flawless was Diana, our wedding coordinator. She would respond to our questions immediately, she always made us feel very relaxed and assured that our wedding coordination was in very capable hands. Diana is very kind and professional. We are so grateful to her! We couldn't be happier with our wedding! And it all started with our decision to have our wedding at the beautiful Griffith House! Thank you!!!

Our son's & daughter-law's wedding was on Saturday. All of the staff , from Diana to Jason and everybody who were present, truly made the day a magical and wonderful one for everyone in the bridal party as well as the guests. We sincerely want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

This venue was a dream and everything my husband and I hoped for! The house is a beautiful back drop for our reception and the string lights and chandelier are nice touches at night. Myra was so accommodating and wonderful to work with. She genuinely cared about us and took care of everything that day so our wedding ran smoothly. She recommended our Canyon Catering who's worked with this venue before and that worked out really well. There are also separate bridal and groom suites inside the house which was so convenient for our wedding party. We got married in July and due to the heat, we wanted market umbrellas and they were able to rent those out the day of with no problem. We felt very well taken care of throughout the planning and during our big day, so grateful for Myra and her whole team!

We booked for a wedding on a very short timeline for a smallish group, and top to bottom, we had an amazing experience. They made planning so easy, from our amazing point of contact/coordinator Emily answering every silly question I had, to the digital planning offerings so we could make our own floor plans for the team. The owner Summer was also highly responsive when we needed to touch base. Day of, everything was so streamlined that we hardly had to lift a finger beyond getting our decorations out of the building. The staff was on top of every element and they were all so sweet. On top of that, EVERY SINGLE one of our guests commented on how gorgeous the venue is, with some family members excited to find a place for their own events. We booked a buffet style dinner and added the lighting package, the coordinator upgrade, cake cutting, coffee service, soft drinks, and signature cocktails for a cash bar. First of all, the food is phenomenal. It's easy to dismiss any sort of banquet service, especially a buffet style, as something somewhat less than a gourmet meal, but not here. Not by a long shot. EVERYTHING is good, from the meats and sides down to the bread (at one point in the evening one of our guests had a plate of about 10 rolls, which was completely understandable.) My husband is a snob about meat, especially steak, and basically cried at our tasting with how incredible it was. We got great feedback from our guests both the day of and afterward about how great the meal was. The other really standout add on was the cocktails. It's another thing that every single guest (who imbibed) commented on, telling us not just how good they were but also how they loved trying "the groom" vs "the bride" drinks. The Charleston takes its alcohol seriously as a craft, with these drinks being the most truly *crafted* cocktails I've had in a while. It added an amazing element for our guests that they really noticed. From the "executing our vision" end of planning, the coordinator upgrade was *invaluable.* Emily handled all of our decor setup and strike, including packing things. I overplanned tablescapes, decor, and timelines, which made her job easy, but she's such a pro that she's usually the one to handle such things. (As an aside, she took my concept and ran with it in ways I didn't think of, and I was so thrilled with her execution. Emily, I adore you and your creative brilliance.) The other item we are so glad we added for our vision of the day was the lighting package. It was the thing that took a gorgeous ballroom reception into what felt like a bespoke event, from our spotlighted entrance to the lighting on the floor for our first dance. There IS an add on package that covered both of these line items and more, but because we wanted to choose some of our own vendors, we opted for only the individual items. I love who we hired, but for simplicity's sake, the larger package would probably be much easier for a couple looking for a "set it and forget it" style of wedding planning. We loved our experience with The Charleston and I'd book our special day there a million times over. The building is gorgeous and with a rich history, but beyond that, it's so welcoming--not just the people but the vibe there. For us, there was never any other venue for our wedding than The Charleston, and I'll tell everyone who will listen how much we loved it. I know yall read these reviews, so to the team directly: thank you for everything. It was the day we both always wanted, and you all made it special. We are infinitely grateful.

Most tea sets include scones with cream and jam, tea sandwiches, mini desserts, and a refillable pot of tea. Portions are on the smaller side, so you'll likely leave satisfied but not overly full.
