I let them keep their service fee. When I went to AAA to go ahead and do the paperwork through AAA since I'm a member it ended up costing me only $209. So not sure what they were trying to pull over on me. But it shouldn't be called red line. It should be called scam line. Instead of wasting my time or charging me for services I didn't actually need, they took the time to explain my specific situation and let me know exactly what I needed to do. They gave me a complete list of everything required and even walked me through what to expect since I wasn't familiar with the process. What really stood out to me is that they could have simply had me get the VIN verification done at the DMV and then come back to them to finish the rest of the paperwork. Instead, they explained that since I already had to go to the DMV for the VIN verification, it would save me time and money to just complete everything there in one visit.
