Big Bear Ice sometimes comes cloudy such that you can see 1 million mini bubbles frozen within the actual ice. It raises my suspicion that the ice has been thawed/melted, then refrozen and finally compressed. It still processes well for production purposes however it does not compare to Southern California Ice Company whose blocks always comes crystal clear and so far without variation. Still, in a pinch Big Bear Ice will get'r done. And the operators of distribution are very friendly and helpful.
