I wish I had known about Econo Appliance, and Adam, years ago. I had several visits from another service provider to try and address an issue with our Kitchenaid refrigerator (a regrettable purchase that could be the subject of another lengthy, but unfavorable, review). When the problem recurred, I called Econo and gave up on the first provider. Problem solved! Adam was careful and thorough in fixing a difficult problem with our refrigerator. He was kind enough to follow up to see how the repair was holding up (still good!) and even looked into the cost of a replacement part in the event there was still a problem. Complete no-show. Had a repair window from 11AM-3PM to repair washer. At 2:30 PM, I called them--no response. Stood me up. Never returned my voicemail to reschedule. I had to take a whole day off of work due to 11am-3pm repair window. I actually lost money because of this company. And still needed to find someone to repair my washer. read more

At 1:46am Adam submitted a contact form on my employer's website, not to mention he did not know where I worked at without looking me up first. Once again an older and reliable Whirlpool refrigerator saved by Adam at Econo Appliance. Experience and integrity DO count a lot when it comes to home appliance repairs. My 25-26 refrigerator finally started giving me problems and I had accepted the fact that I was going to have to replace it. Decided to call Adam to see if there was any hope to save it and upon his inspection was informed that it was an easy fix with replacing the now dysfunctional thermostat at a nominal cost. I was so relieved as many home appliances are now on back order with customers having to wait months for delivery. I also liked how reliable my older Whirlpool refrigerator has been through out the years - and hated the thought of parting with it. Thanks to Adam it is now working great again!!! Our relatively new (less than 5 yrs) KitchenAid started acting up; it would stop refrigerating for a couple of days, start up again for a few days, then start up again for several days, then off again. I called Gormsen's in PB who told me they no longer had a refrigeration technician but referred all such requests to Econo and gave me their number. Irene scheduled an appt. for Adam to come out several days later, having provided her my refrig. model # and the error message that was being displayed. What impressed me the most was that he contacted me PRIOR to the appt. to ask a few more questions and had me try a few diagnostic tests. On the day of the appt. he called 30 minutes out to let me know he was on the way. Once here, he explained that KitchenAid had become highly dependent on electronics and circuit boards and our refrig. had 6-7 boards, any one of them could be responsible for the problem. After inspecting several areas and circuit board boards, he solved the problem without having to replace any of the board(s), which would have been expensive. As noted by other reviewers, Adam was professional, efficient, customer focused and HONEST. I have given his card out to friends and neighbors that might need a service technician with those qualifications. Super fast service and the technician who came out (Victor) was hands down the best service person I have ever had out to my house. He was extremely knowledgeable, polite, and efficient. Had a challenging repair issue. One company told me the item was unrepairable (expensive appliance) and charged me $85 for the visit. I called Econo Appliance Service just to have a conversation with a technician, explaining that I didn't want to spend another $80-$100 just to have someone else come tell me that the unit was unrepairable, just wanted to know if they had heard of the symptoms on this particular model, and if it would be worth my time for them to come out. Adam actually offered to come take a look without charging, as long as it was at a time when he was in the area. He said he thought the original technician was correct but would be happy to take a look without charging and didn't want to charge me a service fee to tell me the same bad news. I ended up going a different direction (replacing the item), but was very impressed that this company would be willing to do a good faith visit based on the assumption that they would not be able to help. Extremely rare days and very impressive, they will certainly get my business in the future based on how they treat people that aren't even their customers yet. read more

Honestly i think everyone feels the same way about appliance services companies. They know it will take forever, parts probably out of stock, will the tech even show up?? Adam at Econo knocked it out of the park! I called on Monday and spoke to Irene. She said the tech would be in the area Friday but wasn't sure if he had time and would call me back the next day. She asked for the model number and details so the tech could come prepared. (Wow!) she called me back Tuesday (wow!) and said he wouldn't be able to come Friday, but instead Monday. I respected the honestly and said yes no problem. I told her if anything changed, I would still be available Friday. What do you know? I got a call From Irene on Thursday saying Adam could come Friday between 11a-3pm. He would call when he was 20min out. On Friday, at 10:50 i got a call from Adam that he would be there in 20min. He was sharply dressed, professional and greeted my Dog. 2 hours later dishwasher was repaired and running. Adam went above and beyond and TEXTED me on Sunday asking how everything was running and if there was anything I needed (wow, again). Great service, excellent work and respectful. I was referred to Econo by another appliance company I normally use. This is because the normal company does not have a refrigerator repair person right now. Everything went perfectly with Econo. Scheduled appointment, arrived on time, did great work, and explained everything. Adam cleaned up and put everything back. Reasonable price. Adam also said he did not want to take business from the referral. He said I could call again for service if the other company was not able to do it. So why 5 stars ? well........refrigerator water line leak issues... Set appointment for following day ...then got a call to see if they could come by on the same day .... This is great ...sooner the better. Joe was very polite ......did not mind our dogs who sniffed him for 3 seconds then took a nap. He identified the problem quickly ( where the water line was leaking any why the leak kept reoccurring)....and then explained why this was happening and fixed both the water line and the underlying cause. (Which was totally overlooked by another company's repair tech x 2 previous visits). Would definitely use again and recommend. Joe mentioned this has been his business for 35 years. As a pharmacist myself (for 30 years) I appreciate his skill and attention to detail. read more

I was having problems with my freezer, and after trying to fix it myself I called Econo appliance. Victor was the tech who came out, diagnosed the problem, fixed it quickly and at a fair price. As good as it gets with service! We just had our Bosch dishwasher repaired by Stan from Econo, and my wife and I have never been more impressed by any type of service technician. We previously had another company out to diagnose the problem. After 30 minutes of poking, prodding and a lot of watching of the playoff game I had on, he determined the pump was bad and we needed a new one. The pump was estimated at $180 and service would be at least $120 making for a $300 fix, minimum. Even worse, the part would not be in for 3 weeks which meant way too many days of hand washing dishes. This is not Little House on the Prairie after all. Time to try other options. I called Econo and Stan was at our house within 30 minutes. We explained what was going on to Stan and immediately he knew the two possible causes without touching a thing. About 5 minutes later he had confirmed his hunch and had the dishwasher working. He spent plenty of time thoroughly investigating to ensure there wasn't an underlying cause to the problem. As excited as we were about no longer having to relive life on the Oregon Trail by hand washing dishes, we were more excited about the knowledge we gained from Stan. During the time Stan spent working on our dishwasher I honestly feel like I received years worth of education on dishwashers in general, and specific knowledge on our Bosch. Stan is a dishwasher genius, if there is such a thing. This guy needs to write a book, write a blog or something. I honestly would have paid for the education alone. read more

Three stars as simply Okay. Here are my concerns. its a 65 dollar diagnostic. That took two minutes to perform The part was 50 dollars? Little plastic switch. There is a 90 dollar minimum labor fee? They didn't explain that on the phone. Still not sure why there is both a dianotistic fee and min labor fee? Total bill was 145 dollars and the repair took 15 minutes By my calculations, these guys earn 600 dollars an hour? Oh yeah, the technician left a part of the replaced switch in the machine wash basin. I found it after I had test run the machine. I liked these guys better when they were a small time repair shop. read more

True to his word, about a week later I received the check and believe this shows they care about their customers and repeat visits. Also shows the value of Yelp for consumers. Definite 5-star service. Super nice guy showed up and fixed our fridge, which had a broken ice maker and water dispenser for about half a year before we finally dealt with it. Soooo glad we found this service on Yelp! Guy filled us in on all the issues he's encountered with our particular fridge, installed a couple parts for us at a great price, and gave us advice for repairs in the future. There is one situation that especially stands out: a client recently had an issue with his upscale refrigerator, he called his home warranty company, they quoted $600 for the repair and were very unprofessional (Appliance 911 to be exact). He called me very frustrated and I contacted Econo Appliance, they made the repair onsite for $145 and the client was extremely happy. You always get nervous when you appliance goes out....that fear that getting ripped off is in your immediate future. Look no further. I woke up and my refridgerator died over night. They took my call and were able to get someone out there ASAP (even got there at the beginning of the four hour window per my request). Once out here, turned out that my refridgerator was fixed after unplugging it and plugging it back in. Service call done in 10 minutes! All three service men were polite, professional, efficient, and above all: FRIENDLY!!! I moved into an older home and inherited all the older appliances, so as you can imagine, repairs were needed to get these appliances working/functioning better. I called them earlier today, and they had someone here in under an hour. BANG!! The guys, Stan and Joe, took a look at my dishwasher, which wasn't draining, immediately figured out what was wrong, and had it back up and running in under ten minutes. Double BANG!! Getting someone to look at a broken appliance can be nerve-wracking. Even with all the positive reviews, I hesitated before calling. They know what they're doing, and they charge fairly. This could have been a $100+ plus repair, given my knowledge of appliances, but they ended up charging less than that. Give EAS a shot. Fast, efficient, and great customer service! We recently bought a "new" house built in the 1940's so we've been having all kinds of issues. The other day, our Sub Zero refrigerator's icemaker stopped working and our stove cooktop was having an igniter problem. I found Econo Appliance on Yelp and called them based on their excellent reviews. The receptionist was very nice and said that she would call the technician to see if he could squeeze me in today, and less than an hour later I got a call from the technician and he was on his way! Joe, the technician, was really nice. He was able to show me that the cooktop was touchy but working properly. He also disassembled my ice maker and told me that he might be able to fix it which would cost less than a new icemaker, but if he couldn't, our service fee would be applied to the cost of a new icemaker. He explained exactly what the issue was and with my approval, went to work. We wouldn't be able to tell for about six hours if it was working yet. Even though the company wasn't open the next day (Saturday), Joe called to follow up with me to make sure it was working properly. He even made a second trip out to the house on his day off (Sunday) to make some adjustments to get it working as good as new, then called a few hours later to make sure it was working properly. Very responsive, clear communications and accurate quote by the receptionist and excellent customer service and follow up by the technician. If I need appliance repair my first call will for sure be to Econo Appliance, and we'll request Joe. read more

While it didn't start off well, my technician (who was nice throughout) ultimately got the job done (dishwasher fix) and Adam the owner intervened and made sure I was satisfied with everything. Just used this company for the 2nd time in about 5 years. They did such a great job the first time years ago that I kept their info in my contact list until I'd need an appliance repair again. Luckily, I haven't had any appliance problems until a few weeks ago & naturally it was for appliances less than 2 years old. We bought a new Samsung fridge & some no name wine fridge, but our secondary fridge that's 10 years old was having a problem too. The Samsung fridge ice dispenser stopped working. The wine fridge just stopped working & the old fridge I couldn't get the ice filter cap off to replace the filter... which has never been a problem before. They sent Victor out who was awesome. Unfortunately the problems were unfixable on the spot, but he determined the problems & told us what to do to fix them. The Samsung fridge has a known problem where too much ice freezes around the internal area causing it to freeze up & stop dispensing. He told us to unplug the fridge, place several towels underneath & let sit overnight to thaw out, BUT that's only a short term fix & I'd need to contact Samsung & have it fixed under warranty since it was a known problem with their fridges. When he got back to work he even sent me the service bulletin sent out by Samsung, which was really nice of him. The wine fridge's door was just barely getting caught on the edge of the cabinet in our kitchen island it was encased in, not allowing it to fully shut & air was getting in 24/7, making the fridge work harder & causing ice to form on the internal motor & freezing it up. Same thing w/ the Samsung fridge... unplug, lay out several towels for the melting ice for 24 hours & reposition the fridge if possible, or fix the cabinet. Our older secondary fridge was in storage for a year while we were remodeling our house. I forget why now (this was a few weeks ago), but ice was forming over the filter inside the encasement & same w/ the other 2 fridges... unplug, let thaw & then the filter encasement will come off easily. So long story short, he easily determined the problems & how to fix. Great company & very honest people. I'll definitely use them again for any future problems. read more

Almost left 5 stars but I keep those for the total wows! Got the chance to meet Joe. Friendly guy, down to Earth. Had a few good chats too. But fixing the fridge was his expertise. I had already done some research and narrowed the problem down and had a basic idea of what some of the parts cost for the area I was experiencing. What I paid was a super fair price and probably only $100 more perhaps than what it would have cost me to do myself. But I didn't have to do it and learned that changing out a thermostat (while looks easy) is slightly more tricky than I care for. Highly recommended and would use again. My Frigidaire refrigerator was not cooling and making a highly annoying buzzing sound every 5 seconds. I called at 9am in the morning. They gave me a 4 hour window between 11-3. Stan from Econo showed up at 11:30am! Super knowledgeable and explained everything. Initially he thought I may need a new refrigerator. Within 20 minutes he installed a new starter and the noise was gone and refrigerator was working properly. Everything was $155. Much less expensive than having to buy a new fridge. So fast, I didn't even get their names. They looked like a father/son team. My fridge went down over Labor Day weekend and I lost a lot of food. I tried 911 Appliance but they didn't return my call until the next day. So much for "911". I then called Major #1 but their voice mail box was full. Oh well, their loss. Econo Appliance had nice reviews for local fridge repairs, so I took a chance... SCORE!!! Econo Appliance arrived early and worked fast. The problem turned out to be a bad heater. I didn't even know a refrigerator had a heater but it's true. They explained everything, answered all my questions and gave me the bad heater part. They even stayed longer to put back together things that I took apart. I have never called for an appliance repair man but I will be calling Econo Appliance first and every time from now on.
