I had a flat tire on my Jeep. My office is across the street from Express Oil. The tires are large so I risked it and drove to the shop. Dale literally met me in the parking lot as I limped in. It was almost closing time but Dale stayed late to replace my valve. There was no way I was getting home in that vehicle without him. The tire key was missing somehow (I misplaced it somewhere) but Dale had a solution. If the world had more Dale's it would be a far better place. Thank you Dale for everything. Hate to do this I'm not typically this guy! These guys are usually top tier! I got my brakes changed today and was unaware that a test drive was "standard procedure" I had my brakes done before and they didn't test drive that's why I was unaware!instead of quickly informing me they where taking my vehicle off the lot for a test drive! They just took it I had to ask another mechanic what he was doing as he's pulling off the lot they he told me he was testing the brakes! I called my uncle who owns a shop and asked him what's the typical procedure and he said they always let the guest know before a test drive! So I called and spoke to a manager made me feel as though I should've know that was going to happen! He dismissed my complaint taking about well we drive your car between bays! I mentioned that's not the same as driving my car off the lot of their business! Basically told me they don't have to tell me shit! They lost me as a customer which sucks, because I had thought I finally found a solid mechanic back to the chopping board time to find a more professional operation! Can't remember the manager name started with a L or a R an African American gentleman! If y'all don't mind a person you never meet taking your car off the place of business without permission with not accountability from management these are your guys! read more

What a Drastic change in visit. I came in on Thursday to get an oil change and they told me they didn't have the filters for 2022 and asked me to come back on Tuesday. I came back as instructed made arrangements with work. I came in and they explained the filter was never ordered and to please give them 45 min. I took an Uber to make my next appointment to give them ample time. I came back more than 45 min later and they haven't even started the service. I asked to speak to Eric to ask for an explanation since I have to go to work and he said he still doesn't have the filter. Why even tell me 45 minutes then? Why not just be respectful of my time and schedule and ask me to come back a different day? So now I'm down 2 times trying to get this done close to work and my Uber here and back. Waste of time and shame because if it was them on the clock I would definitely be a little bit more considerate. Eric said it was his manager Bryan that talked to me on Thursday and told me to come back on Tuesday- clearly can't hold onto his word. Just come here in case you don't have a 2022 vehicle apparently. Tried this today. I paid $100 for a 'full service oil change'. They literally checked NOTHING except the oil. I even asked the person who was helping me, and he lied directly to me about it. I was sitting in the car watching the whole time, so knew they didn't check anything. First and only trip there. I would give it ZERO stars. read more

I hit something in the road just by this shop just after they closed. I left my carb there overnight and showed back up right at open and the store manager Troy was super helpful. I couldn't get an tire there but he was willingb to work with me and let me leave my car there while I went looking for an tire. I stopped in because I had a leak under the hood. My car was checked, AT NO charge, snd I went on my way. About six months later after going to my car dealer for an oil change, transmission service, tires checked, etc. within 48 hours I began to notice a pooling of liquid under my engine. I waited 2-3 days before going for a look-see. Of COURSE, I went back to Tires Express. They do ALL KINDS of repairs. My leak was antifreeze. My dealership had changed my oil a few days before. They told me brake pads were ok but I would need new brake discs within 90 days. They quoted a few hundred $$-- stressing "don't delay" or it will be very expensive. The mgr at Tires Express looked at my brakes, and said I didn't need new discs. At all. The fee for all this service snd good info was a minimal ( few dollars) charge. Their manager is professional and appeared to be very trustworthy to me. (He could have talked me into fixing my brakes! He just said they should be good for quite a long time!) What an absolute embarrassment of an auto shop. Over $120 for an oil change and tire rotation. Three different times of me asking "hey, ya know, I looked online and I sure couldn't find another place giving $100 oil changes" and receiving three different very slimy sounding answers. Called the manager with the invoice and he's just like "oh yeah I see your point but there's nothing I can do about it." Fair enough, buddy. All I can do about it is not ever give you any of my money again (which I will not), and then write about my experience so that other people might avoid making the same mistake. I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs. Unless you like paying 3x the national average for an oil change but my guess is that you're reading this review because you do not like that. This place has changed management quite a bit but the people there now are absolutely fantastic. Takes me less than 10 mins for a full oil change, I don't even have to get out the car . The manager Troix is an absolute machine , finds you the best price & does honest work , I'm assuming the bad reviews are when it was under the old management because I've been coming here for years and will continue to, S/o to Troix for helping me push my car when it died & offering me a ride home , most places wouldn't. read more

Their honesty and integrity blew me away. I came here for the first time and my sticker from the last place in Grapevine said I was overdue by 1k miles. They noticed my oil was way too clean and said come back in 2000 miles, we don't believe in charging you for something you don't need! Then they topped off my oil and all fluids, checked all my lights and said see you next time. Don't trust them for business, they like to steal if you pre-order or order anything from them. Then they claim that it's not their fault. The ex-manager tried to order a part for me and I never received it. So, yesterday, I called and Jason (idiot) said that the old manager was scamming people. Today, the idiot, claims that he has no responsibility because the manager is no longer with them. He even went as far as saying I had a personal relationship with the manager, how disgusting is that? I had never had a bad experience with them, until now because of the fraudulent claim. The guys there were very generous and honest. They didn't charge my brother for the diagnostic which is fantastic because in most places they do. He greeted us and was very kind to us. He told my brother what the problem was with his rim. He was very professional and fast to fix it. Even brought the car to his work place since it was very close. My oil change ended up costing me $95. Very frustrating! I had asked them to do the regular/normal oil change and fill my washer fluid. I get to looking at the invoice and called the manager to complain about the complicated invoice and about how pricy it was. They ended up putting "customer preferred synthetic oil" in my truck. When I called the manager the employee told him I asked for it....I would think asking for regular oil isn't the same as the expensive brand they carry. They also didn't fill my windshield washer fluid like I asked. I will not be going back and will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

My family members and I have been coming here for years to get oil changes and inspections. Never had an issue with service until today and it was big. I brought my truck in for an oil change. They were not busy and I pulled right into the bay. I purchased a full service oil change with synthetic oil and a new filter. After a $10 coupon it was still $76 and change. They finished really fast, so fast that I decided to check theirwork about an hour after I left. Turns out the reason they went so fast was because they didn't change the filter, but I paid for it. In order to change the filter, a skid plate has to be removed. That's why I was suspicious when they finished the entire job on 15 minutes. I called and spoke to the manager, Chris. He says bring it back and we'll take care of it. As soon as I got there, before anyone looked at the truck, a tech named Luis, apologized for not changing it. Ok, so, you intentionally skipped it hoping I wouldn't notice? At this point I started questioning other items on the check list. Specifically, the transmission fluid. On my receipt it says "safe level". I asked, how did you check it? There's no dipstick in the engine compartment for the transmission. The tech then stated that's it's sealed and cannot be checked. I asked, how, then, do you know the fluid is at a safe level? He informed me that the computer prints that on the receipt by default. Really? You're telling costumers their fluids are at safe levels without actually checking? I was blown away. The manager, Chris, gets under the truck and pulls a tiny screw in dip stick out of the side of the transmission and checks it. I suggested his techs needed more training and he shrugged it off. Finally, I've got two trips and close to two hours of my time invested. They attempted to cheat me out of an oil filter and made false, potentially detrimental claims about fluid levels that weren't checked. How many customers have driven off without knowing they didn't get what they paid for? I requested that I be refunded the entire bill but was offered $20 of my next visit. I informed Chris that neither I, nor my family members will ever come back. He was indifferent and refunded $20 of the $76. If I were the manager, I'd be very concerned about the shortcuts and what amounts to theft by my employees charging for parts and services that are not being delivered. Update 9/14/18. I notice this rock shield hanging loose under the truck. They had to remove the bolts to access the drain plug. The last person under the truck was the Manager. This is ridiculous. read more

I tried two other places this morning to get the oil changed in my truck. It was right at opening on a Saturday and both places had 1-3 customers there. The first place said they had a 45 minute wait and the other didn't even acknowledge me for five minutes even though both attendants kept looking over at me. I finally went to Express Oil Change and was greeted as I drove up to the garage bay. I got right in for my device and completed my state inspection that was due. Do not take your vehicle to this shop. I took my vehicle here over a month ago for an oil leak. They ended up shorting out the mass air flow sensor on the the car. They had me leave with a check engine light on that was not on when I brought it in. They fired the mechanic, but still have not yet reimbursed me, even though they have said they would multiple times over the past month. read more

When I told the mechanic that was more than I wanted to pay, he said they did have a deferred credit card they could offer me. Hahahaha! No, thank you. Meant to come back and give the amount Honest 1 auto charged the next time i needed an oil change in comparison to this location. They charged me the labor rate which is $15!!! Thats with me bringing in my own oil and filter. Then with no context and background on what took place at this location for this review, i asked if they would charge me to swap out the skid plate that directly replaces the factory one. They quickly said "no charge, we have to remove the stock one anyways to change the oil" i mean seriously!!!! screw this location bunch of thieves. The crew here is amazing! They are friendly and super fast. I've never been there longer than 10 minutes for my oil change. When they are done, they will walk into the waiting room to show you the level of the oil on the dipstick and the color. I've NEVER had a shop do that before. I highly recommend them! From start to finish, this was a great experience. I visited Express Oil Change because of a Groupon I had bought. When I arrived, I had to wait about 15 minutes for then to start my oil change. I like that I was able to just sit in my truck the entire time while they worked. James, who I later found out is the owner, showed me my various options. When I told him I just wanted to stick with the basic oil change I had purchased through Groupon, he wasn't pushy or rude about it, instead he smiled a genuine smile and said, "We'll get you started and out of here in no time." As my oil was changed, James checked the air filter, topped off the other fluids, and did a safety check of my lights, turn signals, etc. He showed me the air filter, and actually said it looked good and didn't need to be replaced! What a refreshing change from the high-pressure up sell I'm used to receiving at other places. After about 10 minutes, I paid the very reasonable $5 for the extra quart of oil my truck requires (the voucher was only good for 5 quarts, and I needed 6), and I was on my way. I have been to this location for an oil change and tire rotation before my visit on 12/18 for a state inspection sticker to renew my plates. My plates were overdue because an aftermarket gas cap was causing my check engine light to stay on. I had to order a Jeep gas cap online and wait for its delivery. Luis was my technician throughout this process. It was stressing me out because I didn't want to get a ticket or a fine for an overdue registration sticker. Luis was so sweet and calm with me. He took care of me and my car yesterday. It was such a pleasant experience . I highly recommend Express Oil. The facility and waiting area are clean, the service is prompt and professional.
