Our 4 bedroom / 3 bathroom two-story house was built in 1999-2000 and they used CPVC supply line pipes. A few years ago, one of our remodel contractors said they wouldn't touch it. They shut the water off at the street every time in fear that the CPVC valves in the garage would crumble if they tried to use them. We have since had two small leaks in the hot water supply lines, fortunately under the house and caught quickly, but it was clear the CPVC was a ticking time bomb. We are new to the area and were starting from scratch to find a reputable and affordable company to do the a total repiping job on our house, to replace the ticking time bomb known as CPVC pipes. Before committing to this plumbing company's quote, we also requested a quote from the "Repipe Specialist". We had seen their advertisements in google and Angie's list. Their sales representative (Eric) was extremely knowledgeable and even pointed out work that would be done that we had not even considered. Their quote included re-piping the entire house, replacing water inlets on the dishwasher, washer, water heater, ice maker, and all outdoor faucets. It even included adding 1 outdoor faucet and replacing bathtub / shower faucets in 2 bathrooms. All this to be completed in 1 day, after which they would come back and replace the sheetrock. Their quote was almost $2,000 less than the original plumbing company! Sound too good to be true, but wait, that's not all, They were true to their word. The re-piping was done in 1 day, the city inspector came by on the 2nd day (even the city inspector commented on how well a job they had done), then the sheetrock group came and repaired all openings. All workers arrived on time, were professional, and each team cleaned up after their respective work was complete. All in all, the entire job was completed in just 2 days. We had a leak in the freshwater pipes in our 40+ year old house. To avoid future leaks, we decided to re-pipe the house. We received two bids which were for about the same amount. We chose Express Plumbing because their bid was more detailed, and Express's representative, Eric, showed a greater knowledge of the re-piping process, as well as listening and responding to our concerns and requests. Express provided new PEX piping and valves throughout the house, and repair of wallboard opened for the re-piping installation as well as the wall opened to fix the initial leak and removal and reinstallation of tiles around bathroom fixtures. Excellent! Probably the best contractor that I have ever worked with. I have a 1908 house with 3 floors of lath and plaster. It was a challenging job. My home was 1998 CVPC (brittle pipes, ticking clock) so finally opted to go to PEX. Eric came out on a Saturday morning to do the initial walk through and bid. Repiping is not cheap but Eric was the most competitive, and also the only company that included full wall repair and texturing after completing the work. His team completed the entire job in about 1.5 work days. They were fast and efficient. Also of note was that Eric's prediction on exactly where the cuts were going to be during the walk through was spot on with actual cuts. Amazing considering there are a lot of unknowns until walls are actually cut open.
