Look for Alternatives…read more BelRed installed a pretty high-dollar, high-efficiency gas furnace years before I bought my house and it vibrated the whole kitchen wall when running so you could hear or feel it in practically every room of the house. I had them come out to inspect and "tune" the system when I moved in, but any mention of the noise was just met with condescension and redirection (they were more interested in selling recurring services). Shortly thereafter, I had a different company install an air conditioner and after they rebuilt the air handler there is barely any noise when it runs. Fast forward many years, BelRed just installed the pictured heat pump next door and it sounds like a dump-truck idling right against our bedroom wall. I looked up the manufacturer and evidently there are lots of people that complain about how noisy these heat pumps are. I have 3 recently installed heat pumps, 4 if you count the refrigerator, and none of them make anywhere near as much noise as this thing does, and evidently after many years of complaints the company actually INCREASED the published decibel rating from 60dB to 70dB so they could keep saying, "That's normal." So the end result is that BelRed is selling and installing a system that by definition violates the city noise ordinance of 60dB -- how wonderful for me. On the installation side, I would caution anyone getting a heat pump installed to be very particular with how the contractors setup the handling of the condensate (water). Heat pumps make a lot of water, so there should be well designed way to deal with all that water that will work effectively in both the summer and the winter. So definitely ask questions about how the system is going to drain when temperatures are below freezing. From the picture (taken from my yard), you can see that instead of using a drain line, this unit was just put in the middle of a drain pan with a length of PVC pipe across the walkway. Aside from the obvious trip hazard, since drain pan pipe fittings are on the side (above the bottom of the pan), there will ALWAYS be water in this pan, and since it is out in the open, it will always have leaves, debris, mold, bacteria, and mosquitoes growing in it. So my recommendation is to look for alternatives instead of using BelRed.

I had previously looked into getting some fans installed in two bathrooms and after looking up 3 companies for quotes I had reached out to them to come by. I said thanks but no thanks and instead of leaving, he says let me call my boss and see if he wants to do something about the price. The guy doesn't answer! Now I'm trying not to laugh. He goes well let me call the "big" boss. So this guy answer and the gentleman is telling him that the quote is way too high. Big boss is kind of just stuttering before finding the words he wants to say "well for our price you get the best customer service imagined over a mediocre job performance." If that was your selling point when the customer service you already provided is a D- at best, you're not the company for me. The "mediocre option" we went with were just fine.

She was very helpful and kind. I had the electrician (Aaron) come in and inspect. He did a very thorough inspection and found out what had tripped the breaker. He went above and beyond. The inspection/diagnostic was waived for first time customers.

I am a small business owner trying to open a new bar in South Seattle. DO NOT HIRE SW PLUMBING. I…read morehired South West Plumbing originally to do a main drain scope. I will be honest in that they did a good job locating the main drain and was very thorough. Because they gained my trust at first, I decided to inquire an estimate for a full plumbing build. This is new drains, new grease trap, install of equipment, and new pipes. It's a big project. I imagined it would be very expensive but they offered financing so it was doable in the long run for me. The company came to inspect the space to finalize an estimate for me. They told me I had to purchase all the equipment and have it on site on the day that they start the job. The first estimate was around $40k. And the idea was I would finance through Greensky and pay half down. Before I decided on anything, I specifically asked if they would include "installation" of all the equipment. They repeatedly said yes. Once we got the estimate, I went ahead and scheduled the work. This included me procurring all the equipment, ordering everything on time, and arriving on site. The one equipment that I was incredibly afraid of ordering was the grease trap. We sent over multiple text messages with a link to the model that the company suggested and each time, the person I was working with confirmed that was the correct model. When the day came, the plumber that they "sent" out did an overview with me before starting work and noticed a lot of huge oversight. He noticed that our space did not have proper venting but was told by the company that there was upon first inspection. He told me that I needed extra equipment to support some of the equipment I had already bought according to the plumbing plans (the original person who came in to look at the space did not ask to see the plans). He also told me that the grease trap I bought was INCORRECT and would not fit. I had spent $10k purchasing equipment for SW plumbing to do NOTHING. And so I called and canceled the whole job because now my $40k went up to $70k and it is just downright cruel. For a small bar at 700 sq ft, they wanted to charge me $70k, and tried to tell me that the install for the equipment is a $20k job. I complained. And their relations team reached out. They told me that they would purchase a new grease trap for me due to the miscommunication and they want to do right by me. Because I don't trust them, I did not accept it at first and told them I have to think about it. Turns out, I was right. I asked them if there were any obligations to this and they said no. I confirmed with them that the estimates were all cancelled, and they said yes. When time came to ask them about it, they then turned around and told me that they would only give me a free grease trap if I went with their services. I don't believe in writing scathing reviews for any business. I know we all gotta eat. But, this experience was so horrifiyng and I am left with a $900 grease trap that doesn't work for my space and SW Plumbing could care less if they made a wrong suggestion to a small business. They don't understand that they've just cost me so much more than just a piece of equipment. I do not recommend. Find your community and ask for local reputable people. These big box companies are out to gauge you and twist their words.

It was the weekend, so I expected higher rates and started calling around. It was about 5 p.m. on Saturday when I tried Price Busters, and to my surprise someone actually picked up. It was the owner, Zach. He gave me a fair quote on what I thought would be a simple job, pulling the toilet, checking the line with a camera, and installing a new wax ring. I told him I'd call around. After hanging up, I reached out to three other plumbing companies. Not one company answered their phone. That alone told me a lot. Zach said he could come out the next morning, so I called him back and asked if he'd meet me before we opened on Sunday to try to get the blockage cleared. He agreed without hesitation. Sunday morning, Zach showed up on time and spent several hours trying everything he could. He didn't rush. He looked at the issue from different angles even from the rooftop and he really made an effort to find a cheaper fix before landing on what ended up being the big solution, which was digging out the pipe and installing a clean-out so they could jet the blockage from outside the building. I appreciated that he didn't jump straight to the expensive route. The next morning his crew arrived early and had already dug a five-foot hole beside the building by the time I got there. Logan was fantastic. He had a great attitude, stayed polite, and worked hard without a single complaint. They were out there the entire day, digging and working in the rain well into the night. Watching them made me appreciate how tough this job really is. It's messy, humbling, and honestly the kind of job most people want nothing to do with, but they handled it with pride. They did such a solid job that I've already asked them to come back every six months to jet my French drains. If you're looking for a plumbing company that actually answers the phone, shows up, and works as if your problem is their problem, call Price Busters. Zach and his team earned every one of these five stars.
