They are highly disorganized. I called twice to confirm pick up time and location. They still couldn't get it right. They made an entire van load of people late to the airport! Thier response when I called was that it was my fault and it wasn't thier responsibility because they are "so busy". The bus was so packed I had to climb over seats and luggage to get to my seat. The driver said he had to drop everyone at the same location because there's too much luggage to drop us individually. Next time I will pay the extra $50 to get a private driver. read more

We had scheduled a shuttle and paid in advance to get a ride from Ogden to the Salt LakeLake City airport. We arrived at the designated pick up location in plenty of time only to wait and wait. A couple calls later (after one in which we were told the driver was running late) we find out there is no driver and no one is coming to get up. Seems the driver called the day prior to say they couldn't work today and no one bothered to assign a driver for us. Luckily we were able to get a Lyft that quickly arrived (and was actually cheaper than the shuttle) and made it to the airport in time to catch our flight. I would not recommend this shuttle service. I've been using Express Shuttle every 2-3 months for over 12 years. Since Canyon Shuttle has taken over, service has gone down and prices have skyrocketed. Just two months ago a round trip shared ride from my house to the airport and back was $36.00. I just made reservations today for an upcoming trip next month and the same round trip is now $60.00... almost double what it was in December! WTF? I guess it is still better than leaving my car at the airport for a week and a half, but I'm definitely going to look into taxi fares before my next trip. read more

Got home from a vacation to have Express Shuttle already scheduled. Waited at designated spot. Waited 30 minutes. Called, said he should be there soon. Waited more and called again. Oh he's entering the airport. Still nothing, so called again. They had the nerve to say he arrived but you weren't there, so he called. Wrong on both. We never left designated area, and I had phone in hand at all times. Called the 4th time after an hour and 15 minutes, standing in 38 degrees. Got the same message, but said they will be right there. Next thing we know is someone is calling out our name, but it was the "Canyons Shuttle". Now they say this is our sister company. Nothing on the shuttle that says anything about express shuttle. I have been an Express Shuttle customer for 14 years. I take the shuttle about two or three times a year. I never had a single issue with reservations. Rarely had an issue with a driver. But I will not be taking their shuttles anymore after what happened today. Two weeks ago I booked a shuttle for a flight. I had to change my plans due to weather so I called the night before my flight to cancel. I was told that because of the lateness they could not refund my money, but could give me a credit. I was fine with that. They told me when I rebooked to use the same confirmation number for the credit. The next morning at 6:45 the shuttle that I canceled knocked on my door! I told them I called the night before and canceled, the driver said no one told him and left. I rebooked my travel for two weeks later. Called the day before my flight like usual. Called at 9:30 in the morning, and they claimed that I was a no-show two weeks earlier and had no credit. I told them that was a lie, that I had canceled the night before. The agent got pissy with me when I accused them of stealing $100 (round trip plus tip) from me. I told her I still had the call log on my phone, she said a supervisor would call me back. I went to work, no call. I called around 1:30. An agent told me that I was right, a supervisor had listened to the call and I had canceled so I still had my credit. I had her book my morning shuttle. She said it was all set up. I asked about the Return--and the call disconnected. I had to return to work. I called back at 4:30 to arrange the return, The agent said it was all set up. 6:45 this morning--no shuttle. 7:00-no shuttle. I called --they said they had no record of my reservation whatsoever. No drivers in the area (Ogden). THREE PHONE CALLS in one day and NO RECORD OF MY RESERVATION??? First the alleged no-show two weeks ago and now I have no ride to the airport. I had no choice but to drive myself, seething the entire time. I called from the airport. Got a supervisor. She refunded the Return (obviously I wouldn't need it) and said she would investigate the call logs to see about the rest. Got a very apologetic voice mail telling me that the other $50 had been refunded as well. I am satisfied that I got my money back. They did the right thing. But the bigger issue here is that there is no way I can trust their reliability ever again. The Left Hand and Right Hand clearly are not communicating. And no communication is happening in the middle either. (Which made it all the more infuriating for an agent to get angry with me, acting like I was trying to scam them or something.) Reservations not recorded, cancellations not cancelled--and shuttles not picking up. I was lucky that I had my car and did not miss my flight. God forbid I had been stuck in some hotel somewhere or something. So from now on I'll take Uber or Lyft or drive myself. Which makes me sad because they are usually way more expensive. But given this terrible experience it will be worth my peace of mind. At least I know they are showing up when they say they are. I don't know what has happened to this company, but if they don't address these issues they won't be in business much longer. (Oh--and your website is a joke. Looks like something from the 1990s that a teenager designed. Almost no functionality at all; almost no info--it's 2019 time to step your game up. And an App is also LONG overdue.) read more

Are you feeling lucky? Express shuttle is used by many of the hotels in Salt Lake City so they don't have to run their own shuttle. Lucky me. The dispatcher has never worked at a grocery store dairy department and knows nothing of first-in, first-out but instead must be an ex-marine captain who believes in first-in, last-out. That is exactly what I felt like. After an strangely wonderful flight on a *cough* Delta *cough* flight I walked right up to the Express Shuttle counter, gave my reservation and was told to wait. Then the battle began. Soldiers started lining up for the draft. Some had draft cards (like me), some enlisted on site. Marriott, Courtyard Inn, Days Inn, all going to different boot camps for training. In the next hour, the soldiers fell in groups of two or three. Ones boot camp was next to mine but no.....I wasn't on the list. Alright, enough of the boot camp crap. You could get a ride in 10 minutes, you could wait for an hour. You just never know. I gave them one last try today and was pleased at the quality and professional service. Eric met me and another passenger without reservations tonight at the SLC airport. He was professional in appearance, demeanor, driving skills and put us all at ease. I was home in record time, with no safety concerns at all. Express charges just $8 plus tip for the 8 minute ride to downtown Salt Lake City. So a shared ride saves you 12 bucks over what a cab charges, but it will cost you a little extra *cough* quality time *cough* at the airport. My hotel offered no shuttle and recommended this shuttle service instead. I waited almost exactly the advertised maximum wait time of 20 minutes on a Wednesday evening, from walk-up check-in at the counter about 9pm to climbing into a blue and yellow minivan headed downtown with three other people about 9:20pm. Staff was very friendly, both counter and driver. Is it Express or Xpress? There's a bit of name confusion here .. Yelp uses "Xpress". The big sign over their desk at the airport says "Express." The van has a funny stylized E which if you're like me you will not recognize :) and read it as Xpress. Ouch, this company has a lotta bad reviews, go look at the filtered ones if you wanna see reports from some seriously angry people! I didn't check Yelp until after my ride so either I got lucky or things are vastly improved in 2013. read more

I was able to book via phone the night prior for a Saturday 9:00 am Provo to SLC airport run. The driver picked me up at my hotel which was handier than another company which required me to Uber myself over to the BYU campus 3-4 miles away. $38 plus tip. Clean van, van smelled good, driver arrived on time (10 minutes early-nice!) and delivered a very pleasant trip. Nice for any students or professors visiting Rocky Mountain University. The telephone operator was very sweet. You can also book online if you know in advance. 24-hours in advance required for on-line booking. I'll definitely use them again for my next trip to Salt Lake City. read more

I had a great experience on both trips that I took with Express Shuttle. My driver both times, Rich, was fantastic and entertaining. Also, due to a snafu I had to reschedule my trip to the airport for the afternoon. Rich arrived at my hotel as planned at 2:15 for a 3:45 flight! I was in fear of missing the flight with heightened security. Rich told me he would get me there really fast and got me to the airport in 25 minutes (I believe a record time) with plenty of time to spare. Too bad there's not a "0" star. Express Shuttle failed to pick up my mom last April for a trip to the airport where she was flying out to meet my sisters for vacation. She had to drive herself and missed the flight. I made a reservation for yesterday morning. After waiting 17 minutes, I called to make sure they were on their way. The dispatcher said the driver didn't show up but she found another driver who would leave in a few minutes, had to pick up another customer and then would be at my house in 30-40 minutes. I said that would be too late. She said she would cancel and refund my money. I called today to validate I'd get refunded. They said they would NOT refund my money since a driver was available. The fact that he'd be 45-55 minutes late didn't seem to matter to them. Terrible company if you want a ride you can count on and good customer service. Yikes, I'm glad I didn't read the reviews of Express Shuttle before my trip, otherwise I probably would have been in a panic the whole trip about my early morning pick up. I attended a conference in Park City, and the organizers recommended Express Shuttle for transportation to/from the event venue. After pricing out a taxi I decided to book Express Shuttle. I did the shared service, and it was $90 each way, for a total of $180 USD ($240 CAD). This seemed too expensive, but I've never taken an Uber and wasn't sure how well it would work early in the morning on such a long distance. I prebooked online a couple of months prior to travel, and I did call to confirm both pickups the day before I needed them. On my outgoing shuttle to Park City, I waited for 10-15 minutes in the airport before my van was ready. I booked my shuttle to the airport for a 4 am pickup for an 8:40 am flight, which is way earlier than I needed, but I would have rather had the extra time in case the shuttle was late or something errant occurred. My shuttle driver was waiting in the hotel lobby when I arrived for checkout at 3:50 am, so there were no problems there. Both drivers did speed significantly on the highway between Park City and the airport, and on the way to the airport in the morning we were weaving and swerving between lanes. We arrived safely, but it made me uncomfortable. Overall Express Shuttle did exactly what I needed, and did it on time as scheduled. Looking through the reviews it seems that going to areas like Park City is ok, but I don't think I would rebook for service into Salt Lake, especially if there are public transit options. read more

I had scheduled a ride OVER THE PHONE to be picked up at 4:00am Sunday November 27th, 2016 for my husbands 6am flight out of Salt Lake City International Airport. 4:20am rolls around, still no driver...we call dispatch, they don't apologize for the tardiness and simply tell us they'll be here in 3-5 minutes. By this time it's 4:30am and the driver finally gets here, his excuse "I slept in." Absolutely unacceptable. Upon driving to the airport the shuttle driver went an average speed of 88mph in the rain on the highway to attempt to make up for the time. Again, COMPLETELY unacceptable. This company needs to terminate their driver who took this ride immediately. I will say the woman who scheduled this over the phone was very thorough in the details and made sure every thing was 100% correct. Which, in the confirmation email it was. However, the driver completely ruined my, what started out to be a good, experience. If you are taking an early morning flight, don't expect to be taken to the airport on time. A very nice driver picked me up from my home and took me to the Salt Lake City Airport. No problem there. When I came back and went to the desk to catch my ride back to Ogden a very happy rep at the desk smiled and said I just missed the shuttle. The next one will be here in an HOUR. Wish I'd known this before I prepaid for the shuttle. Not sure If they just have a couple of vans or what the deal is but an HOUR? I think I'll take the train in next time. Update on 1/2/17: had to cancel my shuttle this morning when I discovered that they were going to be a half hour late from the 6:45-7:15 pick up window I was given when I made the reservation. How did I find out they were going to be delayed? When I called them at 7:13 to check the driver's ETA. Complaints: #1 - The driver who took me to UofU Heritage Center upon arrival did not know where to drop me off because there isn't a parking lot close to the building apparently. After driving around in circles for a while, all he did was stop, drop me off and tell me that the center was up a long sidewalk and pointed. Thanks for making me lug my bags up there pal! #2 - For my pick up at the same location, I was given a 15 minute window so I waited just out front of the center, not knowing where to go because I wasn't given any direction. I let 5 minutes go by at the end of the window so that I wouldn't harass a driver who was almost there, and then I called and was told that I was a "no show" for the pick up! NOBODY had called me to say "Hey, we're here, where are you?" This should be a COMMON COURTESY, not a specific request that a customer needs to make. I travel a lot and have taken shuttles in many different cities and ALL have called me when they arrived if the location was not a home. #3 - To the rude woman on the phone: I'm sorry that I'm not psychic and I didn't know where to go! You said I should have been at the parking lot. What f-ing parking lot? Then you said drop offs at the Heritage Center are always at the bus stop which last time I checked, is not a parking lot -- tell your drivers that!! #4 - The manager I spoke to on the phone later would take no responsibility for any of the problems that occurred. He told me that they would never have scheduled a shuttle for as late of a pick up as even my original window based on my flight time -- well, then maybe his worker should have asked me about my flight time when I made the reservation! He said I should have been charged for both of the shuttles that were sent for me. WOW, that is something wonderful to tell a customer who only wants a $23 refund. That'll really break the bank huh? I will say that the driver who ended up picking me up was quite nice and even tried to get someone else to do his additional pick ups so he could get me to the airport on time. That would have worked out well for me if the rude woman on the phone (who I heard on speaker) didn't tell the driver he had to do it because it was my fault I'd missed the shuttle. Because of Xpress Shuttle, I missed my flight, had to take a later plane, and ended up needing to get a hotel at my destination because I was too tired to make the 2 hour drive home after my later flight landed. The people who run this company should NOT be working in a customer service industry. Good luck if you book this service -- I'm sure it works well for most people most of the time, but if you so happen to be unlucky and get similar service to what I got, I can bet you WILL NOT, under any circumstances, get a refund. I guess now I know why this service is so cheap and you certainly get what you pay for! I decided to dispute the transaction after it was clear that I would not get a refund. Thank you Bank of America -- you value your customers the way that this business should. BofA is giving me a complimentary refund because of my loyalty. The only thing you'll get for being loyal to Xpress Shuttle is an eventual bad experience. When I return to SLC, I'd rather hitch hike than use this shuttle again. read more

I used this service on my recent trip to Salt Lake City, Utah. They offer both share-ride service that's on a schedule as well as private vehicle service. I reserved the share-ride, less expensive. They service mostly to the Hotels/locations in SLC area. It's best to make your reservations in advance, you pay less than if you schedule at the counter. Plus you typically will not have to wait that long. My wait time was about 5 minutes. They were on time picking me up from the hotel on the way back. Cost was $30 round trip, plus I was able to handle the gratuity when I made my reservations. The staff are "home-town" friendly and the drivers will give you a talking tour of highlights you are passing as they drive you to your destination...if you are willing to open up to the conversation. read more

I've used their service before without any issues. However, I just tried to make a reservation for a future trip. On the website, it clearly states that nothing will be charged until the pick up date (which, mine happens to be a year from now). My bank account was charged less than 15 minutes later, and my receipt states that it was prepaid. I waited 15 minutes on hold for an agent, who told me that it was just a preauthorized charge, which would fall off on the day of pick up...which makes no sense. I called back (after another 15 minute hold) , to cancel. We'll see if the charges fall off. Nothing like false advertisement. Not only did they send out their shuttle BEFORE the time it was supposed to leave (which meant I missed the shuttle), the next shuttle was late (I ended up spending over an hour at the airport), then the driver MISSES my stop because he "spaced out," and then he drops me off several houses away from my house. General civility dictates that if there's nothing good I have to say about someone, then I shouldn't -- therefore, let it be known that I frequently cursed this company's existence in my head before writing a letter to the BBB for the result of their poor customer service skills. Furthermore, in stead of simply APOLOGIZING, they refused to refund my fare ("hey, we got you there, right?" .... dropping me off in the middle of the block is NOT "getting me there." It was a bit of a wait for our shuttle to take us to the hotel but the lady at the service counter was helpful and gave good suggestions. The driver was kind and made no fuss when we needed to make a pit stop for a restroom break. On the return trip they were right on time. They handled all of our luggage carefully. I did think our pick up time was awfully early at 7:15am for an 11:30 flight. I had hours to kill even after TSA. I think it was a bit pricy too at $38 each way, but that was less than Uber which was $45. read more

Reading the previous reviews I was skeptical using this service, but traveling on my own the price had me ($35 each way vs ~90 each way). For me there wasn't a long wait time at the airport (maybe 15 mins) and there was only one other person to share the shuttle with. Additionally, I left an item in the shuttle and the driver was able to go out of his way to return it to me. If you're traveling alone, or are on a budget, this is the service for you. read more

Frankly I'm shocked at seeing negative reviews here. I've used Express quite a few times going to and from SLC from Ogden for business trips throughout the year and I've never had a problem. The price is unbeatable and the drivers I've had have always been prompt and good drivers. When I call to reserve a ride, they are always helpful, polite and prompt. It's a rideshare thing so they sometimes have to make a couple of other pickups in the area either before or after getting me, and for that reason they'll arrange a pickup time that is actually something like a 15 minute window. More often than not, at least in my experience, they're right on time. Occasionally they've arrived 5 to 15 minutes after the time I was told to be ready, but that is within the expected window, so that still counts as being on time. :) And seriously, for 35 bucks from Ogden, you can't beat the price! I don't even want to imagine how much a regular taxi would cost me since Yellow Cab will charge 25 bucks just to drive me across Ogden. Anyway, the drivers have always been pretty nice. One guy was too chatty and sort of told me his life story without me asking to hear it, but the fact is he was still a nice guy and I appreciate that. Usually, the drivers seem pretty observant of whether you want to talk or not. Either way, I have no problem with them. Express has helped me get where I needed to be safely and for a price I could actually afford more times than I can remember now. If you need a ride between Ogden and SLC or the other way around, I recommend them. read more

I've been using Express Shuttle for nearly two years for transportation to and from the SLC airport. Its a reliable and affordable alternative to airport taxis. Despite being a shuttle service most of my drives have been solo both ways. Their drivers are always on time and unlike many taxis are experienced drivers that speak English well. The only down side is the mandatory twenty minute wait imposed all airport pickups even with a reservation. If you are using taxis to and from SLC intl Express Shuttle is viable alternative worthy of your consideration. read more

if you Love to WAIT...... then these guys are for you. Had a res for airport pick up. Got to desk at 8:40PM. They made me WAIT for 50 Minutes till 9:30 before they "Released" a driver from their "holding pen" in the shutte waiting area. They wasted almost an hour of my and the drivers time waiting for no reason. The Lady at the counter's poor attitude was overtaken only buy her desire to pound Burgers, Fries and Shakes while sunken down behind the computer terminal. Next time i will rent a car. XPRESS MGMT. - Release the drivers. Don't make your customers needlessly wait! You just lost $1,500 a year i would have spent with you 10 rt.trips a year at $120 a rt. I see this was FILTERED by yelp. No reason for this Straightforward honest review to be "hidden". Read the other Filtered reviews hiding in the background. I received great customer service from Express Shuttle. They picked me up in plenty of time to get me from Ogden to the SLC airport for my early flight. The driver was courteous and helpful. He helped me get my bags from the lobby and into the van. He also unloaded my bags and got them to the check in for me. I can't think of any complaints. My experience was great from start to finish. I hope I get the same driver when I use their service again next week. read more

My son had a reservation. I gave a lady his flight number and arrival time. She said they keep an eye on flights and would text him with where to go. He got to the airport and no one was at the desk. He waited for an hour! A guy finally showed up at the desk and he got a driver and my son was finally able to get back to his dorm at 1:45 AM. Do better! read more

I've used Xpress Shuttle a lot and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive (knock on wood). They arrive on time, help with the luggage, drive carefully (if sometimes a bit too slow for my taste) and write receipts upon request. Sometimes it takes a while to get on board on the SLC side - waiting for the driver, customers etc. What I appreciate most, however, is that when I arrive with a delayed flight and/or after a canceled flight, the company still honors the reservation. This has been the crucial aspect of my satisfaction with ES and kept me a faithful customer. read more

The price was fair ($7 from the airport to downtown SLC) and the shuttles were prompt. You simply need to make a reservation in advance and then check-in at their desk at baggage claim. The drivers I had on my way there and back were both very friendly and pointed out key landmarks along our drive, very nice! Very convenient. The counter was right in front of baggage claim. Check in and have a seat but don't stray too far because they will call out your name when it is time (I waited 10 min). The only complaint I have about it was that the person calling out names was doing so in such an alarming state that it startled everyone. Think, "I lost my child at a park and I am frantically calling out their name". Just an anecdote aha I also booked a return flight (I wish they gave a discount for round trips...) and the window was 2:30-300pm I was back from my interview by 1:00pm so I was waiting for them inside the lobby. Around 2:15 the driver came in and asked if I was waiting for a shuttle. It was nice that they came inside to retrieve me and help me with my luggage. However please note that they were earlier than their window time so I don't know how long he would have waited for me if I wasn't already there. I'm not docking any points off that though bc it worked better for me bc I was just waiting around. Thanks to Express Shuttle, my ground transportation needs were convenient, low-stress, and at an affordable fare - this made my four-day stay in Salt Lake City even more special and memorable. Booking a reservation on Express Shuttle's site provided me no problems or confusion. There were no hidden fees or perplexing site navigation, and I especially liked how they didn't charge my card until the day of the shuttle booking. After switching flights the day of my booking, I had no problems at all calling to change my pick-up time. Not only was customer service helpful and attentive to my needs, but so, too was the front desk staff. Upon landing in SLC, I was greeted by a friendly staff member at Express Shuttle, ensuring me that my ride was on its way - plus, I only had to wait a reasonable fifteen minutes to be picked up. The shuttle driver himself treated me to some interesting Salt Lake City facts, which got me excited about being in the City for the first time. On the day I was scheduled to return home, I needed a few extra minutes to check out of my hotel room - therefore I asked if the shuttle driver if he could wait for a bit near the hotel. He could have easily said no, but instead (and to my relief) he agreed to pick up customers from other nearby hotels and then return to me in ten minutes. This was a considerate gesture, and right then I knew I had chosen a company filled with staff who have a commitment to customers' needs. Used express shuttle from Park City to the airport, and for the return trip a few weeks later. Booking was simple online, and the van showed up at the start of the pick-up window. I was the only one in the shuttle, so I effectively got a private ride. Also ended up with being the only passenger on the way back to PC. I only waited about 10 minutes once I checked in at the airport desk for the shuttle to depart. Shuttles are well-marked with the company logo, and drivers wear a uniform as well. I've been a customer for 15+ years and thought that the service was pretty good. However, I'm not sure how Express Shuttle and Canyon Transportation continue to stay in business at their current level of service and the length of time it takes to arrange for a ride. I prepaid for a round trip (my mistake, never pre-pay!), and on the return trip the airport agent decided to use a waiting van (I heard him ask permission to switch it to a park city run) for a walk up customer and informed us that we would have to wait for 30 minutes for another vehicle. Another vehicle was in the loading zone, but it was going to downtown Salt Lake, and although it had room for a multiple stop, the driver said he was only going downtown. The $38 fee wasn't worth waiting for 30 minutes at the airport after a 10 1/2 hour flight, or to deal with a counter agent with an attitude. We ordered a ride from UBER, it took 6 minutes for the driver to arrive, and the fare was less than the discounted rate that I pre-paid for the round trip. Why anyone would continue to book with Express Shuttle or Canyon Transportation when there are alternatives like UBER and LYFT is beyond me. I admit that my loyalty to a company who I have used for years was misplaced. Using these alternatives doesn't require an interaction with an employee with an attitude. read more

"We'll pick you up outside your hotel between 12:30 and 1" Uhhhh, care to be a little more specific? It's snowing out there. The minor inconvenience of frostbite aside, the shuttle was great. Door to door in about 70% of the quoted time, and for a bargain compare to other places. The driver looked a little less than reputable but he was friendly once we got going and drove safely. All right, I'm upgrading to 5 stars. I flew into SLC for meetings in Park City, UT. My driver (so sorry, can't remember his name - but it was Sunday Nov 22nd around 2:30 pm - dropped me off at Hotel Park City, please give him my sincere thank you!) was so friendly and kind. He and I talked the whole way to Park City. He was genuinely nice. I really enjoyed having someone to talk to while traveling away from my family. My driver for the return trip was late, again, which I know, it's inside the "window" and I planned for it this time. He was nice and helpful, though, and I had already padded my timing, based on my last trip. Still, it's a great service for a good price. read more
