When she told her it was for my husband, she said "I can make it festive but masculine" and then asked for his favorite flavors. She suggested a devil's food cake, with white chocolate ganache between the 3 layers, milk chocolate buttercream and a salted caramel drizzle. The result was outstanding!! Cake was moist, ganache was rich and the frosting wasn't overly sweet. The caramel drizzle added a nice finish. First of all, the customer service was amazing with every single person I interacted with via email, phone, and in person. You can tell they really know how to run a business. Secondly, the designs turned out even better than I had imagined and they were a HUGE hit in the office. I could not be happier with how beautiful they are. Lastly, and most importantly, they taste OUT OF THIS WORLD. We got the cactus design in the pistachio and the taco in the salted caramel and WOW! Really rude and unprofessional, needed a birthday cake within 2 days, I understand it's considered short notice for some smaller bakeries but we planned a trip to the desert and it's all time I had to search for a cake in the area. Everything I asked the owner if she could make was like a computer generated response, "that's a custom cake, it's too short notice" on repeat. No friendliness what so ever. All I asked for was either a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting or a vanilla cake with chocolate frosting and of course some nice decorations on top for my mother's birthday. She adamantly told me chocolate with chocolate or vanilla with vanilla. No exceptions on short notice. In the end I ended up paying $60 for a white cake with vanilla frosting, she refused to accommodate the opposite frosting repeating her infamous tag line. I practically begged her to add some cut strawberries in the layers and she absolutely refused. How could it be so much effort to just grab the chocolate frosting instead of vanilla at the very least? Zero willingness to compromise or be helpful. The only decoration option she gave me was berries on top with sparkles. It sounded reasonable and I was in need so I took it. Fast forward to day of pick up, I couldn't find her store and it was getting near closing time so I kept calling hoping for some tips on her exact location. She never answered, had my wife calling over and over. No answer. I finally found the place and mentioned I had been calling since I was lost, I'm not from the area just visiting, she smugly told me oh I saw you calling I thought it was a wrong number. I was dialing the store from my cell which is my business number. She didn't want to bother since it wasn't someone's name but a company name instead? What if I needed a company cake made? Either way the cake was sad looking when we opened it at the restaurant I dropped it off at for a surprise dinner, there was about 7 berries total, barely any of these sparkles she talked about and to no surprise, nearly flavorless despite her boasting about using European buttercream. I was so embarrassed when we started eating it and my heart sank that I brought this for my mother on her birthday. Another family next to us brought a cake from Jensens and it looked so much nicer. I definitely won't embarrass myself again with this bakery that is anything but exquisite. read more
