It had a rich chocolate flavor, a nice, moist sponge, and in between there were layers of a milky chocolate mousse that offset the rest perfectly. My wish list included delivery and having gluten and dairy free options. Samantha walked me through ordering and made some great suggestions. I went with an 8" white chiffon cake with lemon mousse and fresh raspberries, along with a dozen GF/vegan chocolate cupcakes on the side. It was decorated in a beautiful sunset/cactus theme which was perfect for the setting. Everything was INCREDIBLE! The delivery was right on time and the cakes were packaged well. The main cake was delicious and we were all scraping crumbs of the cake plate by the end of the night. The highlight though, was the GF/vegan cupcakes. We were given so many different cakes, frostings and fillings to try and all were delicious. We ended up choosing the devils food cake with chocolate & vanilla bean mousse and Italian meringue buttercream frosting and the red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. Both were amazing, all of our guests enjoyed them. In addition to tasting great, the cake was beautiful. I had a pretty good idea of the style I wanted but also had a budget so they played around with different sizes and options and I ended up with exactly what I asked for. 3 tiers, fondant ruffles with gold tips, enough to feed 65. When we first met with Exquisite Desserts, we only had a few Pinterest pictures and a pretty rough idea of what we were trying to accomplish. We tasted all of the possible cake combinations, icing / filling flavors, and sampled their petite fours. This process really helped us narrow in our cake selections, and by the end of the tasting, we were all on the same page about the cake design / flavors. We decided to get a 10-inch single tier cake, and a selection of petite fours for our guests. On the wedding day, when we saw the cake in person, we loved it. It was exactly what we had in mind from the Pinterest photos. The petite fours were excellent -- I wasn't shocked to find very few left overs :). Our wedding cake was so gorgeous and delicious -- (in fact, it was so delicious, we're considering on ordering another one to re-live the flavors lol). Overall, complete 5-star experience with Exquisite Desserts. Would strongly recommend them for any custom baking needs. read more
