I have gone to that salon and to the same girl many many years what she retired and if it was bought by somebody else, I was skeptical, but I have to tell you it was like I didn't change it all say the girl that does my hair now does it the exact same way she's magnificent and everybody in that whole salon is very polite. Don't even think they deserve one star, I had Carrissa and she completely ruined my hair. I had went in with a picture of a cut I wanted it was short and a drastic change. Which I was nervous about to begin with but I had a lot of damage I was trying to get rid of. I had showed her a picture and told her I wanted it as close to that as possible she had told me leaving it the length of the cut would leave a bit of dead on one side since it is asymmetrical I told her that was fine I didn't get want to go any shorter, since I was already making a drastic change. She faced me away from the mirror for the whole cut and when I finally got to see it I had pretty much no hair left. My mom who was with me came and ask if it was what I wanted and why I had decided to go so short, I'm sure the look on my face said it all and I the hairdressers suggestion was well I can shave the rest of it off. Maybe if I was a guy that would work but I would never let her touch my hair again the cut isn't even cut or able to be styled which is probably why the hairdresser shooed me out without offering or attempting to style it it's choppy and super short. Safe to say I'll be wearing a wig for the next couple of months. And all I wanted was a cute cut for my birthday. read more

She's young and sweet and doesn't talk too much or too little, she's from Phazes salon so she's good at cutting hair, I was a little scared cuz you walk in and it looks like a dollar cuts salon but Amy washed my hair really well and trimmed and cut it not too much so it still looks long and now looks healthy! I'm really picky with salons. Go to Amy. She's fast and good at cutting hair. And it's inexpensive! Ps. I like that she wasn't pushy in trying to sell product to me. She just mentioned a deep conditioner and that was it. She didn't make me look at it or set it on the desk and keep asking. read more

I bought a groupon for a mani/pedi here. I was disappointed that a set of gel nails and a pedicure took upwards of three hours. Also, two of my gels fell off within 48 hours. While I was in the chair with my hands soaking, one of the hair stylists ran her fingers up the back of my hair while she was complimenting me, without either warning or asking me if she could do so. The honest to goodness worst place I've ever experienced for a haircut and/or manicure. My haircut appointment was not scheduled after I called in, so they rushed to find me a seat. Then I listened as the boss rebuked her employee multiple times for gossiping about the bad behaviors of another employee. They told me they didn't have time to blow dry and style my hair, like I'd scheduled for, so i left with dripping wet hair. The manicure was horrific. She was on her phone, playing games and facebook a good majority of the time. There. were. hairs. in. my. shellac. When I pointed this out, she kind of laughed said "whoops sorry. Well, we're closing, so if it really bothers you, you can come back tomorrow." The most unprofessional experience ever. read more

I was beyond needing a haircut, but being new to the area I had no idea where to go to get a good one. Leah at Exquisite Effects Salon came recommended by a friend, but I was tired of my hair and wanted it cut preferably today, so I called the salon this morning to see if ANY of their hair stylists there had an opening for me and was accommodated by Carissa this afternoon. The whole time I was a bit apprehensive and sort of felt like I was in a dentist chair instead of a salon chair just because this was a new person I had never seen before cutting my hair. It turned out really cute though! I requested a rather time and labor intensive cut (as opposed to a simple trim or straight across cut) and showed her some pictures of what I was after. She gave me the exact cut I wanted and did a beautiful job. And then to top it off, she only charged me 8 dollars. I'm not sure how much longer that special will run, but the quality is definitely worth more than that. I tell you, I felt like I was robbing her for all the work she did on my hair and how well it turned out (it took about 40 minutes for this cut which is about as long as it has taken other times I've gotten it and I've never spent less than $30 on a cut like the one I requested today). I gave her $20 and still felt like I was getting away with something. I'd definitely go back and have Carissa cut my hair again. read more

The owner of this establishment refused to give me a refund even though I got chemical burns along my hairline from a poorly done bleach job. My stylist was a very nice person but did not execute the style I wanted well so I asked her to make an adjustment. When she tried to fix it she burned my hairline and I walked away with three different shades of color. After the weekend I called for a refund and the owner wouldn't listen to me - she kept telling me that she thought the original attempt looked good which concerned me because I thought it looked terrible. She asked me to come back in so they could fix it but I told her I didn't want to come back after having such a negative experience the first time. She kept interrupting me and defending her stylist. She offered me product but I just wanted to be refunded, even if it was a partial refund. This is the first time I've ever asked for a refund from a salon and I'm shocked at how inconsiderate and rude the owner was even though she saw the chemical burns the night it happened. Service providers need to take accountability for their mistakes and treat the customer with respect and compassion. There may be kind and skilled stylists here but this salon's owner does not honor unsatisfied customers, even after they've caused visible damage to their hair or skin. read more

Decided to be brave and go back in for a fix it cut. I had a different stylist cut it this time. The second cut was better than the first. I got it for free. I paid tip. I will make sure to avoid the first stylist in the future. The manager was super nice when I talked with him. read more
