When I called to schedule the appointment, I told her I have thick, naturally curly hair that is just below my shoulders, that it is naturally a very dark brown and that I wanted to go to red, and asked that she please allot time for an eyebrow wax. My appointment was for 1230. I show up at 1220, and she says, "No, your appointment was for one." I check my calendar on my phone and sure enough, it says 1230, but I tell her, "No big deal. I can wait a few minutes." So then she says, "Your appointment was at 1230, but I need to eat lunch. I'm diabetic." Fair enough. Then she comes back and says (repeatedly) that my hair is too thick to color, that she doesn't have enough color to do my hair and that we'll have to bleach it before we can go red. I tell her we're not bleaching my hair. I'm nine months pregnant--bleaching my hair at this point is not a good idea. She insists that she doesn't have enough color (even though I told her two days ago I wanted to go red) and that we can just color the top half. Since the main reason I color my hair is to make it more manageable, coloring half of it would completely defeat the purpose, so I say no. Then she says that we can foil it or weave it. Again, I say no, and even the stylist in the next station over says there is no point in bleaching, foiling or weaving and to just put the color on. She says we can talk about it more after we cut it, but that she won't have time to wax my eyebrows and the cut/color/style will take upwards of three hours. I remind her my hair is naturally curly and it cuts best when it's wet. She insists that she can brush it straight enough to cut it, and that she can check the cut after she washes it and it will be "spot on". At this point, tired of arguing, I say go ahead. It takes her AN HOUR to cut my hair dry. Then, she hands me a box of foils and tells me (and I quote), "You start on this and I'll mix your color." Now, while I would have been happy to have folded foils for either of my stylists back home in Texas or in Oklahoma, I was a long-time customer. And they never asked. This is my first appointment with this person, and she's asking me to fold foils after I told her I didn't want foils?!? Umm, no. And so I told her, "You know, I don't want foils. I want all over color, and since you don't have the color to do it, we'll just skip it. Just please wash my hair and we'll style it." She washes my hair. Then she says, "Wow, your hair IS easier to cut when it's wet!" and proceeds to spend another 20 minutes fixing all the stuff she missed the first time. At this point, I text my husband and ask him to please come pick me up. She says, "Are you sure you want your hair flat-ironed?" And I notice she has no flat-iron warming in the warmer. I tell her not to worry about it and begin making plans to go elsewhere to get my hair colored, and that it will just be fine to get my eyebrows waxed since my husband is on his way. So we go back to a massage table to do my eyebrows. She puts the wax on my left eyebrow and puts the paper on. Then instead of doing that eyebrow right away, she puts the wax on my right eyebrow, puts the paper on and then pulls it off. And then she goes back to the (now cold) wax on my left eyebrow and tries to rip it off. She seems confused when the wax doesn't come off, so she adds more hot wax, presses the paper even more firmly, and yanks. Hard. No dice--er, umm, wax. So a third time. And a fourth time. At which point, perhaps she figured out I was getting aggravated, so she offered to tweeze and I told her that it wasn't necessary. She said she'd comp the eyebrow wax. Needless to say, my left eye has a nasty bruise/scraped looking area and I had to finish tweezing at home. I'm going to a different salon tomorrow to get a color consult and I don't particularly care how much it costs at this point. And I will not be going back to Tame Your Mane. There is no reason a cut/color/style/wax should take three hours to complete, much less the two hours it took to get just a cut and ONE eyebrow waxed. While I realize I am not a cosmetologist with 20+ years experience, I do have 30 years of dealing with my hair. I know what works and what doesn't work, and being treated like I don't know my hair or know what I want is very aggravating.

She did a cut and color on my hair and it was AWFUL. I've never seen such poor work out of her. She admitted that it wasn't what she wanted to do but blamed me for the results. She talked me down and hardly did any reparations to our relationship and I didn't feel comfortable going back to fix it so I asked for my money back. Needless to say she tore into me, and refused. I was ok with that but again I was not shown the result of the extensions. So I paid and left keep in mind this was my first time getting these types of extensions so I had no clue how much hair was needed or how it was supposed to look so I get home start to feel the hair and notice it is a small amount of hair my natural hair is about and inch above my chin so I text them again letting them know the hair amount is not enough for the length of hair I have (see pics) they respond and say I need 2 to 3 extra bundles of hair and the "promotion" (never told there was a promotion) only covered that amount of hair that was put on. What confuses me the most is as a business owner or employee knowing that I needed extra hair why in the world was I not told or why wasn't I offered to buy more hair (make some more money) you hear of people over selling but this person didn't even try to sale me more hair when I needed it.
