He reached out for a conversation before I came in and I knew I was in good hands. And then I was BLOWN AWAY by what he was able to achieve!! I had expected it would take a few visits to get there. Justin knows hair!! There is a science and an art to color, especially for those of us wanting dimensional color. Justin has both expertise and artistry!! I'm just delighted. I want to also mention that the salon itself is lovely. Spacious and airy, with a sweet back patio. I loved the art, too. The whole experience was uplifting! Hailey took the time to understand what I was looking for and explained the process in the way that I understood. She made recommendations for color and services to help my damaged hair in a way that was clear she was doing what was best for me and my hair and not upselling at all. She even took the time to redo the color on my roots when it didn't come out quite right the first time (due to my hair's porosity not her mistake). I am so happy with how it turned out! No biggie b/c the place seems clean all around and I was in no rush. When it's my turn, I requested the "textured, two-block with a close fade". Lilly proceeded to pin my hair up, worked the fade down to a 1.5" guard, and then shampooed/conditioned my hair. She seemed very comfortable to talk to during my appointment. However, all the positive energy stopped flowing when I returned back to her chair. She asked me if I wanted a side-part, which was the first red flag b/c a two-block is usually a mid-part. As for texturing, there's barely any scissor work involved; all she did was used the thinning scissor (the one with teeth) in a few places and that's it. Her primary tool was the electric razor which seemed very basic and left me wondering if she'd ever worked on men's hairstyles before. Out the door, I paid $40 for a haircut that my barber could've done a better job at.

She also made sure before she did larger cuts that I was comfortable with the length and letting me know how my hair would flow if I went one way vs the other. I didn't like what my hair looked like. I told her in between I wanted it to be different and she kept insisted that since she already put product in it that's she can't do anything. So I was like it looks like I had a shower and just towel dried it. I asked for her to at least wash my hair and blow dry it again so I could see what the cut would look like. I kept requesting. Saying that I need to feel good when I leave here but all she said was I can't because i have customers waiting. And then she got so frustrated and was like ok if you're so unhappy just leave. And so I did. I felt so terrible. I finally just got my hair back after having massive hair loss after being sick and for her to disrespect me and my hair that way just felt so bad.
