I don't even know where to start, so I'll just dive right in. I've been struggling with my partially curly/partially straight hair my whole life. Extremely frustrating, to say the least. We've all been to a million stylists and poured out our concerns, frustrations, and hopes for getting our hair to look like we want it to. Not only when you step away from that appointment, but ideally for at least a few weeks after the appointment. Trying to maintain the wrong cut and trying to keep it looking fresh is a struggle within itself and what has been happening to me for most of my life. Let's start with the vibe of her salon - so aesthetically lit, I'd want to have a private cocktail party in there. So pretty and decorated so fly! LaTasha has a warmth about her that is so welcoming, from the moment you step inside this hair sanctuary of hers. And when you sit in her chair, the magic begins and lasts not only after your appointment is over (and I didn't want it to end, trust!) but for weeks/months afterwards! I'm currently at 2 months and my hair is still looking right thanks to her technique as well as all of the knowledge she instilled in me during our session. I've seen others on here refer to LaTasha as a curl whisperer, a hair goddess - well, she certainly is. I felt so spoiled by her treatment of my hair and scalp while in the bowl, and while in her chair as she gave me the most transformational cut, that brought to life all the layers of curls that were hiding underneath my straight heavy pieces. The curls came to life before my eyes, and I am geeking like nobody's business!! Because of the tips she gave me during our session, I have been able to easily maintain my fabulous new do, even while being as busy as I am. I'm excited to be back in her chair next week to receive the magic again, and to hang with this unique woman, so filled with light and an incomparable love for her passion! 15 years of experience is nothing short of amazing when she pours all of that, plus her passion, into transforming your hair and sending you off floating on a cloud. I love LaTasha soooo much. I'm a Jewish woman and I have thick curly dark hair. Except B.L. (before LaTasha) it's not all curly. Some of it is wavy. And then some of it is straight, except it curls at the end. This ish has driven me crazy for years. I just want all of my hair to look the same! Not straight on top and curly on bottom, this is meshugannah, which is yiddish, it means it's crazy-making, or ridiculousness! I once saw a hair stylist (B.L.) who told me, "you have two different women living in your head". Dude, this is TRUTH on so many levels. He advised me to use two different techniques for the two different textures of my hair when getting ready in the morning. Seriously? This man was a fool. Ain't nobody got time for that nonsense. Enter LaTasha. Her brilliance made it possible for my hair to have a uniform look. I don't know how she does it. She's a fucking hair wizard genius. For real. The best part? It's not just some salon look that's amazing for the 5 minutes after I leave her place of business, no. Because she takes the time to educate you about what your hair needs, you can actually fucking reproduce the gorgeousness at home. WHUT? Yes. She taught me technique, people. This from someone who is outdoorsy, works out 6 days a week and spends as little time as possible on things like hair, makeup and fashion. Because I have better things to do and I honestly don't care. But I do care, enough to maybe spend 5 minutes on it. This I can handle, especially if there is payoff. This is my 3rd cut with LaTasha, and I think I found a permanent hairapist. It really is hairapy, because of the education and consultation. She doesn't just tell you what to do with your hair, she tells you WHY that's important for your hair. Otherwise I wouldn't bother, because the least amount of effort possible is what I'm willing to do. Appointment 1 it was like, wow, my hair looks amazing, and wow, it actually lasted for several months. Then I'm poor and I didn't go back for too long. Appointment 2, I opened up to her about my frustrations with my hair and in response, she somehow gave it a cohesive look, with layers, which I was totally afraid of since ponytails are essential for sustaining life, but whatever, it fucking worked. Appointment 3, I was like "do the same magic you did before, but more of it" and she delivered. Now I have this awesome rockin' do, like it feels like, for life. I can make my whole head of curls look curly, which means I'M LIVING THE FUCKING DREAM people. This is serious. If I can make this work, and do it with ease and confidence, then so can you.
