I research for hours on end anytime I make any type of purchase or when I am looking to hire a contractor. I hired a separate company to build my pool. I needed to hire a company to complete the hardscape. I found Jesse with EDCL on yelp. I also found the business has an overwhelming amount of reviews, all positive, on home advisor. Turns out, my pool contractor recommended I contact Jesse with EDCL regarding my hardscape. I met with Jesse and we were a great match. He is as picky as I am when it comes to details. I hired Jesse to complete my retaining wall, stamped concrete, artificial turf, landscape lights, stucco and drainage. Once his crew began working on my yard, I was very please to see them using a transit to ensure everything was at the perfect height. Although I designed my backyard, Jesse provided helpful insight throughout the project. I was that annoying customer who was out with the crew everyday. I had my own projects and relied on Jesse's lead guy Juan, to give me pointers on the projects I was working on. I was thoroughly impressed with the work ethic displayed by the crew. No shortcuts were taken. Although I told them they did not need to clean up at the end of each day, they still did. One thing I hate is when contractors have trucks / tractors that leak oil on the street. I did not have this issue with this company. In fact, all of their equipment looked relatively new. Whenever I had a question or needed to get a hold of Jesse, a text to him would result in a reply within a few minutes. All of the work done by EDCL passed inspection. The city inspector even complimented Jesse for the footings / rebar which the crew prepared prior to building the retaining wall. I highly recommend EDCL for any landscape needs. Jesse should be proud of himself for running such a structured business. He should also be grateful for his spectacular crew. After months of trying to find a professional pond person to clean our pond, we finally received a recommendation for Jesse at Exterior Designs. He informed us that since he wasn't the original installer of the pond, he would not be able to maintain it for us because he had no idea how it was originally installed. He could see just from looking at it that it was not up to his standards. At our consultation, he gave us a few options. We could either rebuild the pond OR turn it into a pondless pond and waterfall. This would alleviate having to have pond maintenance because it would no longer have fish or plants and it could be maintained with chlorine tabs. Since that option was the best one for our situation, we decided to have the pond completely remodeled to the pondless pond. Jesse and his team were very professional and gave us a beautiful landscape feature. He added plants, lights, a timer and a remote control at no extra cost. The waterfall and stream are just what we wanted. The sound of the waterfall is intoxicating and everyone who has seen it is in love with it. We also had an area of artificial grass installed which is so high quality and so lifelike, we've been asked what kind of grass we have! Jesse has been here to oversee that things are done to our high standards and his as well. I would recommend Exterior Designs to anyone who wants a beautiful pond, waterfall or landscaping.
