I am a home owner who does a lot of extensive research whenever I purchase any big ticket item or have any sort of work done on my home. It is that research that led me to Mojave Curb and Turf. I went into this project with the impression that I needed to stay local to get the best deal and highest quality of work. I had contacted three other companies to come over and give me a bid on some landscaping work that involved artificial grass and curbing. Each of these companies came over and presented their products very politely at first, but then became hostile and unprofessional once I stated that we would need time to compare their products and services with other companies in the running. After three attempts, my wife and I were getting frustrated and called Mojave Curb and Turf with some reservations, because they were located quite a distance away in Apple Valley. I visited their website and was impressed with the description of services provided and photos of previous work they have completed. I contacted Randy, the owner of Mojave Curb and Turf. We agreed on a mutual time for a consultation appointment, which he arrived promptly for a few days later. I told Randy that we already had three bids and were about to go with regular sod if things were not going to work out. Randy asked to give him a chance. I must say that in my line of work (Law Enforcement), first impressions are everything. My wife and I appreciated Randy's personable and humble demeanor. He did not once bad mouth his competitors. Randy proceeded to take measurements and then asked us what we wanted our backyard to look like. We wanted some basic turf installed in our backyard, but were not sure of the large planter area located at the rear of our property. Randy sat down with us and gave us a few designs which incorporated turf, curbing, foliage, and strategic lighting. We settled on a specific turf, curbing style, palm trees, and LED lighting. Everything sounded amazing to us, but from our previous experiences, we were bracing ourselves for the final price. It was amazing! Randy came in way under his competitors! His price included everything and more! My wife and I were ecstatic with the price but we did not have much to go on in terms of Randy's work. But my first impression of him won me over. I gave him the green light to proceed. About a week later, Randy and his crew came first thing in the morning and began the demolition process. They were very professional, courteous, and most importantly, they were clean! After each work day, the guys cleaned up after themselves, which showed pride in their work. I periodically checked on their progress out of curiosity and was amazed at Randy's meticulous craftsmanship. He is truly a perfectionist. He would rather spend an hour to make something right, rather than five minutes just to move on and do mediocre work. He and his team are all about customer service. During the course of the install, I made a few requests and changes to the design. Randy was very receptive to our wants and with a smile, always made us happy! The final product is yet to come, but from the looks of it, it will be amazing. We are so excited for the finale and will post pictures on here. You will very rarely find a businessman who is dedicated, honest, and willing to go out of his way to make his customers this happy. We were able to get turf in our yard in the high desert with the help of the hero program. Randy worked with us so much on the design. He was polite and professional. The only bad part is the curbing. When it rains, water settles in a spot on the turf and I can't imagine that'll be good in the long run but thankfully we haven't had any rain. Also, I'm not familiar with palm plants that were planted and the roots started showing after watering them and I'm not sure if they're sill to be showing. read more

Without a doubt, the best purchase I have ever made. Dealing with Randy has been amazing from the start and his product is the top of the line. He is personable and always available to talk to (seriously whenever I had a question he answered his phone). I knew the minute I met Randy that I was going to go with him, his product and work ethic can't be beat. He even went above and beyond for me as I literally signed my contract less than two weeks ago and he said it would likely be done around the middle of February. I told him that I was having a super bowl party and he worked miracles to make sure it was done before gameday. Randy gives you the small touches that others don't that many take for granted. His team is amazing from setup and tear down and always professional. I even asked him to move some of my old rock from the back to the back and my side yards and front yard and he did it without any extra charge. Amazing. When I got quotes from others they gave me written job submittals (like I know anything or care about random measurements) with no idea of what it would look like. You get what you pay for....others I got quotes from couldn't even tell me what brand they were using nor did they bring samples. Not only does Randy use the top of the line, made in the USA tigerturf, he brings all the different types of grass they offer as samples. I went with the pet turf with deodorizing infill and it is truly an amazing product. Finally, and most importantly, I feel extremely satisfied giving my money to a local business who gives back to the community (he is currently installing a putting green he donated for a local school's golf team). I called Randy for a free estimate on my back yard. While there, I went ahead and had him do an estimate on my front yard also. I wasn't quite sure what design I might like so Randy made some sketches and came up with a simple yet elegant design. He introduced me to the HERO program which I had no idea about before. This enabled me to be able to afford getting both front and back yards done at the same time. He and his crew were very professional. Randy kept me updated on the progress of the project. He took his time explaining to me what they were doing. I am EXTREMELY SATISFIED with the results. Randy and his crew completely transformed my property. The work they did was just beautiful!!! Afterwards, they cleaned up all the dirt and stuff, and even disposed of a piece of furniture that I wasn't using anymore. I appreciated the asthmatics of his work but when we had water damage due to his work after he had been warned that what he did was not correct and he refused to take responsibility, I had to change my review. Contractor after contractor has come and looked at his work and said overall it was shoddy work. I just feel bad for all the people I referred to him :( and hope he doesn't keep repeating the same mistakes. The other complaint I have about him is that it took him a whole year passed the date he promised work completion and even then never finished the job. That is probably better that he didn't finish since we now know that the work he did do was not good. read more

I am not one of those people who can see what needs to be done to make things looks great. This time, I didn't have to worry because Randy did it all. He came down and took a lot of time to explain his vision for my backyard and made me feel at ease with the work he wanted to perform. I just watched in amazement the way the transformed an average looking your into a breath taking view. I couldn't be happier. I had Randy add some beautiful artificial turn and some palm trees as well. He also put in some curbing in the front and back that matches the house exactly. We added some tress so we would get some shade for our dogs and each tree has its own spot light. At night, it is so pretty and it also makes for a fine evening just sitting outside by the fire pit. Randy also added river rock which makes everything seems to just pop out at you. To complete our work, Randy added some pavers on the side of the house and some rock in the front to big it that finished look out there.
