I spent a week calling roofing companies only to be told that I would have to have my entire roof inspected and the minimum cost for any repair would be $450 - $500 even if it the repair was replacing two shingles. Some companies even wanted to charge me additional fees due to the steep pitch of the roof. As you can imagine I was about ready to find myself a really tall ladder and brave the roof myself when I got a call back from Mr. Graves at Graves Roofing in Rockwall, TX. He offered to go out and have a look at the roof and said he'd call me. The same day, in the rain, none the less, Mr. Graves personally went out to my house and found the area with the 2 missing shingles and realized the shingles were on my porch in good condition. So he called me up and said he wouldn't feel right charging me for such a minor repair and promptly got to the repair. I made several offers to pay him and he simply refused. The next day when I arrived home from work he was just finishing up and had actually done more than we had discussed just to make sure I was fully repaired and yet he would not accept any payment. I was absolutely blown away after having dealt with the all the other companies who wanted to talk money before they ever looked at my roof. Mr. Graves has made a customer for life in us. When the appointment time came, he arrived on time, he was friendly and explained the problem to my husband, advised us to replace our builders plastic vent with a metal one. We agreed. He said he'd send us a quote in a few days. That was a Tuesday. After three days, I figured our quote got lost in the shuffle. We're all human so I left a message. "Hi, thanks for coming out to inspect our roof, we'd like to move forward with all the work you recommended. Looking forward to receiving the quote from you." :::::Crickets::::: I'm not sure what happened. It's sad because everything was perfect right up to the failure to respond.
