The rate was decent, and we locked it in for six months, but once we finally visited the place last week... it was a hard NO. Dirty, questionable smells, and honestly, I was starting to wonder if any of our items would even be salvageable. Our contract was ending in early December anyway, so we immediately went searching for a new facility. That's when we found The Lock Up Self Storage in Bonita Springs--just a mile or so up the road, and truly a night-and-day difference. From the moment we walked in and met Jim, we knew we were in the right place. He was incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. The building was spotless. It smelled clean (which is definitely not something you appreciate until you've been in a gross facility!), and the security features were exactly what we were used to in New York: a code to enter the building and another code for the elevator. That instantly gave us peace of mind. Jim showed us two different units to help us decide on the right size, and we settled on a 10x10 at a very fair price. Honestly, at that point we were moving regardless of cost--the difference in quality was THAT dramatic. The unit we chose was a carpeted end unit, which made unloading and organizing so much easier. No bugs, no signs of vermin, no weird smells, great lighting, and clearly well-maintained. We rented a U-Haul that same day, emptied the old unit, and moved everything into The Lock Up Storage. Best decision ever. The old place was also about to raise our rent by nearly $90 a month, which was laughable considering the condition it was in. We're now completely at peace knowing our belongings are safe, clean, and stored in a place we trust. Huge thank you to Jim, who made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. Highly, highly recommend The Lock Up Self Storage if you want security, cleanliness, and excellent customer service. We could not be happier with the switch.

They were easy to coordinate with Im advance (thanks Justin!), worked with the movers and gave me a great big spot in a good location. The units are clean, secure and air conditioned. I set up auto pay on a credit card. Smooth. Overall everything was great about this place and I would recommend them. Two tips though. The wide sliding glass doors in front do open when you wave them from inside. I couldn't remember if there were doors there and called to ask if we'd have to carry everything past the front desk and was told yes we would. Then when we got there for move out I saw them and asked if they could be opened. Answer was no, but only because it can't be done from front desk. They still open - just stand there and wave. It was just poor communication. Also they advertise something about a free moving truck. I'm not sure the deets but when I called and asked if they provided moving services from the storage unit to local homes they said no with no mention of the truck. Then I saw it there the next day when I arrived with my paid movers. I would still definitely use them again. Just these are things to know.

The "climate-controlled" building was above 80°F, which is not what I expected when paying extra to protect my belongings. Another major frustration was the pricing. The introductory rate seemed reasonable, but after moving in, my monthly rent increased substantially. On top of that, they charge over $50 per unit for 24/7 access, which feels excessive. To make matters worse, there isn't even a dumpster available for customers, making it inconvenient to dispose of packing materials or other trash while moving. There also seemed to be very little on-site staff available when assistance was needed. After I completed one of Public Storage's internal customer satisfaction surveys and gave an honest review of my experience, I received a call from management. Instead of addressing my concerns, I was told my review was hurting their staff. During that conversation, I was abruptly hung up on, which I found extremely unprofessional. Between the temperatures inside the building, significant price increases, expensive after-hours access fees, lack of basic customer conveniences, limited staff availability, and the way my concerns were handled, I cannot recommend this location.

So, you pay for AC, don't get it and they want you to pay to move yourself to AC - no end in sight - while "waiting on parts" TOTAL LIES. - BREAK THE CONTRACT WITH THE AC COMPANY OR BUY AN AC THAT ACTUALLY WORKS. - BUT PUBLIC STORAGE - JUST TAKE AND TAKE AND GIVE NOTHING IN RETURN.
