Their elevator has been broken for a minimum of 5 months, we're moving out today, the movers had to move everything by stairs. TYE CALLED BACK, sounded like an unprofessional kid, wouldn't stop talking to listen. Started being rude, I kept saying let me talk, he said, you've told me the problem, what else do you want me to do! Kept over talking me, then told me he can say whatever he wants cause that's how he feels WOW. I requested to speak to his mgr, he said we're all mgrs, no one is above the other! I've called corporate to report. Update: TYE just called to say he was able to bang on the elevator enough to get it working. However they removed EVERYTHING via the stairs. At this point it's no longer about the stairs, TYE was the problem, he can sound nice but if you don't like his standard response, he gets irritated, over talks you and doesn't let you get in a word. The units were fine, the lady we worked with in the beginning were good. Only takes one person!! read more

Update: 8/6/18 I just received a call from Ryan concerning my CC on file. The monthly payment wasn't able to go through. That was expected since my wallet had been stolen two weeks back and I had to cancel all my cards. The credit card company issued a new card for me which I received the other day. Thank goodness I had it on me so I was able to give him the new card number. He did not charge me a penalty and ALSO gave me the # of my unit. I am very happy for his help. read more

Renters be advised that the fees they quote are not valid until the lease is signed!! We have rented over 4 years and decided to downsize one size. I went in one morning to see a smaller unit, chose the unit I wanted and was told the price of the unit, agreed to the unit and the price, told the manager to hold the unit for me until the next day due to being late for another meeting. He said ok and held the unit (No mention from the manager that the price would not be honored.). I went in the next morning to sign the lease and was told the price had increased. Apparently they change by hour or day the prices based on supply and demand. In addition since the leases/contacts are month to month, they can change the monthly price at will during the year ( no maximum or minimum). I explained the situation to the district and they refused to acknowledge or make any changes. I am very disappointed in the way they conduct their business!! read more

I currently have a storage unit here. Getting ready to give my notice to move all my stuff out. They quoted me one price initially, then, when I was all set to sign up, they gave me a different price based on the mandatory insurance policy. They also told me that every storage facility requires insurance. That left my total for the smallest unit they had at $81/month. An extra fee for insurance every month makes a difference over a long period of time. I checked my automatic payment today and found that the last three months I was billed at $89. When I called to ask why my rate went up the guy told me that it goes up periodically when they readjust the prices (every few months). They told me that they sent me a 30 day notice in the mail, but I never received it, even though they have my correct address. Apparently there is no way to enter into any kind of contract to keep the same price. Screw this place. I'm moving my stuff out. read more

The management is incredibly rude, she is a short fat lady that walks around yelling at everybody if anything is outside of your storage unit.....how are you supposed to pack or unpack your storage unit or even get inside of it to get stuff out without taking anything out and putting it in the hallways? They are incredibly overpriced and they continuously raise their monthly rates! Oh yeah another thing there elevators doors closed very very fast before you can even push a cart out and they expect you not to hold the door open to get your stuff out..... why not just slow down the closing speed of the doors? better off going across the street to public storage. read more

THESE PEOPLE ARE COLD, AND HEARTLESS!!!! THEY WILL SELL THE ITEMS IN YOUR STORAGE UNIT!!! I recently lost my Father and had to leave the country unexpectedly because of his illness. I spent the last couple of months caring for him and making him as comfortable as possible until he passed. I returned to the US to go back to work so I could make some money and make up for the lost wages when I was gone. I called to pay my past due balance of what should have been $324. I was told rudely by some kid that if I didn't pay $524 by April 2nd all my belongings would be sold. Including the tools I need to earn income. I was charged two late fees, which is understandable, and a foreclosure fee of $85!!! For what because you had to put an extra lock on my unit. I asked to speak with a manager he stated he was the manager and my stuff would be sold if I didn't pay the extra $200. Yes I was late on my payment but with extenuating circumstances I wasn't in the country, and I've lost someone very close to me way to soon. Which I tried to explain but to deaf ears. To the "manager" who I spoke to on the phone, you have no business being in customer service. You were rude, hateful, and just disrespectful. read more

Extremely clean! Great couple who are friendly run the place. You will find a cheaper rate online through the corporate website. Call and ask what sizes are available on what floors and get prices. The site usually lists the floor it's on to compare. Downside yes they tend to update rates less than a year. read more

Very nice managers. Units are clean, staff is friendly. I have had a storage unit here for many years, business account. National business discount nice to offset the price of the unit. 1-2 x per year price does increase. That is a corporate level issue, not a local manager issue. The online quotes and the in person quotes do differ, but again, a corporate level issue. The units are temperature controlled on floor 3, but can feel it on the other two levels too. I have had my storage space(s) for over 20 years. When Shiela and Her husband were there it was great. They bent over backwards to be helpful. Now, apparently CORPORATE has gotten in and want to make all of the money they can without helping their old time customers. I sized down from 3 LARGE storage spaces to one 10X20. My debit card and credif cards had been stolen and so the bank put a hold on all. I had to wait until the cards came in. By that time, the storage person called to say I was late (I had autopay). I called and explained my problem and all she could say was that we were only allowed one late fee. So $60.00 was charged to my account. I asked to speak wifh Neal, the alleged supervisor, named Neal. He returned my call only to be more of a robot than a living human being. Still no considerafion. The $60.00 charge still stands. I have paid the bill but after 20 years when they also increased my payments to be even more than the current charges for a space the size of mine, they had NO consideration. This Neal refused to give me his last name but happily gave me the name of his supervisor. I'm not holding out any hope but this company is not one I could ever recommend. I then checked down the street to check on PUBLIC STORAGE. They were $100+ dollars less for a larger space. Extra Space Storage is nothing more than a gouger of costs. I will leave and I hope that their corporate understands that a little consideration goes a long way in customer service. read more

I have never been so insulted in my life. These people at Extra Space Storage have been the most impolite, irresponsible, and unaccountable people in the service industry that I have ever encountered. I work for a gentleman that has a large storage unit at this facility. The space is so tall that it can easily accommodate a second floor allowing for more Storage space and easier access. The man I work for asked the local manager of the store if he could install a free standing wooden platform with stairs to be able to better utilize the storage space. The manager consented to allow the platform to be installed. After installing the platform I assisted the gentleman in moving his many belongings into the unit. As I have a truck and he has a motorcycle. After many weeks of packing and hauling the move was complete. Once we had everything loaded onto the platform and the storage area below we realized that the light was in the ceiling thus it only illuminated the items on the second story platform. The gentleman added an extension cord so that temporary lights could be used while we were in the unit. They were always unplugged upon leaving. Without the lights the area below the platform was dark and it was not safe to be moving things in and out in the dark. First they harassed us about the extra lighting and said we could not use it. The they harassed us about the extension cord. Next came the district manager an oafish man by the name of Mike Saint Claire He was very rude and insisted the platform be removed. The gentleman I work for explained that he had gotten the okay from the manager. The bombastic Mr. Saint Claire shouted that he was the district manager and that he was the only one to okay a platform and he wanted it removed as soon as possible. He then stated that our gate code would be deactivated and that we had limited access to the unit. This seemed a bit extreme as the monthly fees had been paid in advance and up to date. There should be no reason other than non-payment for the access to be restricted. We immediately went to Public Storage and rented another storage unit so we could move the belongings off if the platform so that it could be dismantled. The gentleman I work for went to the manager if the local store to give them permission to allow me to enter the unit. The manager said fine just draft a not stating that I could gain access and she would scan it into the computer. The next day I went to get s load of stuff off of the platform to start the process if transferring items to the other unit. I gave them my I'd and asked to be let in. The clerk on duty looked at the computer then picked up the phone spoke with someone and handed the phone to me. It was the rude Mr Saint Claire and he told me that I would not be given access to the unit until he could talk to the gentleman I work for and come to an agreement. I told him I was simply moving items off if the platform so it could be taken down per his request. He said to me that it was private property and that without a call from the man I work for the would not grant me access. OK fine. I felt as if he was treating me like a theif who would be arrested for trespassing. I was fuming. I have never spoke to a more unreasonable person in my life. Today the gentleman I work for accompanied me in my truck so we could start removing more items from the platform. We had been there no longer than 10 minutes when two employees of this dishusting property came to the unit snd told the man i was working for that he was allowed in the unit but that I had to leave immediately. I was humiliated and felt like i had done sonething wrong I gave the man I work for the keys to my truck,gathered up a few of my belongings and proceeded to leave the property. I was further harrased on my way out by the people who work there by them saying if I entered the property again I would be arrested. OK so now they are treating as a criminal when I am just trying to help comply with their request. Nothing but harassment since we moved into the unit and now threats of be arrested. Stay away fr po m this place. Treat it as if it were evil place never to do business with. Extra space storage is making it difficult for us to access the unit. They are downright evil and nasty. They are holding the unit hostage and making it more difficult to move the items. Don't ever patronize this place unless you want to be harrased and treated like a criminal. They are awful, hateful people and deserve to be put out if business. read more

The storage facility is clean and the staff/management is super nice. I would have given them 5-stars, except for the sharp rate increase. If I need temporary storage in the future, I would definitely go to this Extra Space Storage (on Curtner, in Campbell) first. For long-term storage needs, though, I would have to look into more cost-effective alternatives. read more

Had a storage unit here for about a year. They were consistently raising the rates. Multiple times I had to talk to the manager to get a lower rate. Manager was nice enough to lower my rate once, however, they still raised the rent. Within the one year that I was there, they raised the rent 3 times. I know that they can do that, it just seemed like they were doing it often. Ended up moving to another Extra Space near by and saved $75 a month on almost the same size unit. Managers were always friendly, willing to work with you and kept the place clean. read more

A couple of weeks ago, I showed up to move my belongings out of storage but could find no push carts to move things to my car (this facility has primarily inside storage access). Was told by office staff that I could not use any of the carts they had in the showroom area since they had to be checked out via credit card & driver's license copies & only during office hours and it was closing time. This was a new unannounced policy established by the regional manager due to recent thefts of the carts. This meant that I would have to return another day during office hours if I wanted to use one of their remaining carts. I suggested that being a customer service business as they are, they should buy however many carts they need to meet customer demand and fix the theft issue they had. I was asked to leave the office still unsatisfied. I told my story to corporate customer service (what they did with the info I have no idea), filled out an unflattering survey and received a call from the regional mgr. the next morning. The story was repeated - "we don't have the budget to keep replacing carts", "the carts are only an extra, non-guaranteed service" & "other similar businesses are having the same problem". Yeah right, who carries around moving equipment in their car - especially when it's already filled with items for storage? Anyway, I took time away from work, checked out one of their precious carts (hint: don't buy the cheap, light ones that are easy to put into a vehicle) and made the requisite number of trips to move my stuff to its new home. I kept the cart with me at all times & had to lock it in my storage unit lest it be stolen & me be held financially responsible for it. The on-site employee kept walking by me seemingly to keep an eye on the cart. Also got a snotty "when you're done with that, make sure you return it to the office". Made me feel like I was a criminal. I have since rented storage space at a different company, was assured that they have never had a cart theft problem. So far, so good. ESS made a bad situation worse & made the customer pay for it. Shame, shame, shame. read more

I've had a unit at this storage unit for a year or so now, and I've got nothing but great things to say about this place. I use this facility to receive packages for my business and the managers themselves ensure that I receive them as soon as they get shipped to me from FedEx. I have never had a missing package as a result over the past year. The managers, David and Sheila are amazing and help keep this place running smoothly. This is the only place that i will rent a storage unit from... kinda out of my way location wise , but worth it. I rented about 2 yrs ago, i just recently came back to rent again. 2 yrs ago, i notced that it was the cleanest and most secure facility that i came across while shopping around. Comming back extra space, this is still the case. Everyone is welcoming and polite. Reminds me of how customer service use to be. Dave and Sheila are amazing!They have excellent customer services skills and definitely know what they are doing, which is hard to find now and days anywhere you go . Their rates definitly reflect value are reasonable. The day that i came in to rent, i was having a pretty rough day.( i was having complications with moving into my new place) While getting signed up Dave was making me laugh that helped me relieve some of the stress that i was going though.It's the little things like this that made me write a review. I have been their customers for over four years. Overall rental was very expensive and the space is not very labeled, it is hard to find. Their manager claimed that my movers damaged their elevator during one of my moves, and try to charge me with their elevator repair bill. Their district manager is super rude over the phone as well. They lost me as customer! The public storage across the street is much better, the facility is older but it is very easy to get in and out and staff is super friendly. They have secured lock for each unit before you move in. read more
