They also damaged a $5000 painting which they hid in the back of the storage unit so I wouldn't see it and I found it today shoved in the back of my storage unit with no covering protection around it today. The art is detached from the frame. I attached a photo here. If you care about your belongings getting to your destination DAMAGE FREE. I suggest hiring a different company. They took way too long for such a simple move -- it was only two apartments, one being a 1-bedroom and the other just a few boxes and 2 bedroom sets. What should've taken no more than 4-4.5 hours somehow dragged out to over 8 hours. They started at 9 AM and didn't leave until after 5 PM. But the worst part? They used my bathroom and left it filthy. Someone actually pooped in my toilet, used my personal Clorox wand, and still managed to leave visible stains behind. That's not only disgusting but completely disrespectful and unacceptable in someone's home. This entire experience was ridiculous from start to finish. They were slow, careless, and clearly had zero respect for my space. If you're considering using this company, don't waste your time or money -- I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. ******************UPDATE******************** I honestly don't even know where to start. The manager from Tate The Great Moving Company came by today to drop off a piece of glass from my outdoor table that was left on their moving truck. While here, he said he wanted to further discuss what happened during my move yesterday. During our conversation, he brought up my previous review and essentially tried to bargain with me to take it down. I told him that if anything, the company should consider refunding part of our payment due to how unprofessional and unpleasant the experience was. He said he'd have to speak with the owner, and while he did apologize numerous times for how the move went -- including confirming that one of the movers actually pooped in my toilet -- the entire situation was still unacceptable. He even said he could tell I "had sense and wasn't dumb," which was unnecessary and condescending. Shortly after, the owner, Thomas Crawford, called to apologize as well. I calmly went down the list of everything that happened -- the bathroom incident, the excessive amount of time it took, the movers disappearing for nearly two hours -- and simply asked for a partial refund or at least for the final charge to reflect the 4.5 hours the job should've taken instead of the 5 full hours I was billed for. Rather than taking accountability, he became combative and defensive. I told him that this was the same behavior I experienced with his manager Derek -- arguing and going back and forth before eventually apologizing and asking for continued business. When I used the slang "chy" during our call, he took offense and said, "please don't call me a child," as if I was being disrespectful, when that was not the case at all. Overall, this company showed a complete lack of professionalism and accountability from start to finish. The movers took far too long, disappeared for extended periods, and even left my home in an unsanitary condition. The follow-up from management and ownership only made things worse. I would strongly caution anyone considering using Tate The Great Moving Company -- what should've been a simple move turned into an 8-hour nightmare.

Within less than two miles of pickup, the truck completely shut off while driving and left us stranded in the middle of an active traffic lane with an senior citizen who has a serious illness and a minor child in the vehicle. We were forced to physically push the truck out of traffic while repeatedly calling U-Haul for help. Multiple tow companies were dispatched and then canceled, leaving us stranded in unsafe traffic conditions for nearly five hours. Eventually, police stopped and arranged for the vehicle to be towed because of the danger. Only after law enforcement became involved did anything move forward. When we returned to the store, the treatment from staff was unacceptable. Store Manager Samantha was dismissive and rude throughout the interaction. Her father, Chris, who stated he was a manager from another location and was brought in to "resolve" the situation, was combative, raised his voice, waved his hands in an intimidating manner, and created a hostile environment. At one point, he was also vaping inside the store. This behavior was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. Despite the breakdown being clearly caused by equipment failure, we were forced to pay again for another one-way rental late in the day just to finish our move, which ended after dark. During the transfer of our belongings between trucks, a Peloton exercise bike was damaged while being handled by U-Haul staff. We have video documentation showing the item intact immediately after towing and damaged after staff handled the transfer. When we attempted to escalate the matter, a manager later stated that because legal action was mentioned, they would no longer communicate with us and disconnected the call. This entire experience placed lives at risk, caused unnecessary emotional distress, damaged our property, and demonstrated a serious lack of accountability and professionalism. This location failed at every level: vehicle safety, roadside support, customer care, and ethical conduct. I strongly caution anyone considering renting from this location.

    Moving Powers - Absolutely Unprofessional (Worst Move of My Life)…read more I had what I can only describe as the absolute worst moving experience of my entire life with Moving Powers. From the moment the movers arrived, everything went downhill. To start, they showed up 45 minutes late--and when they finally pulled up, the truck had a ginormous hole in it. That alone should've been my sign to cancel on the spot. It got worse: they arrived with none of the proper moving materials you'd expect a moving company to have. No blankets, no dollies, no tape--nothing. I'm not sure how any company considers that remotely acceptable when you're handling people's belongings. Then came the most unprofessional part of all. Jeff called the movers and told them to stop my move because he wasn't satisfied with how much money he was going to get paid--even though he is the one who quoted me that price in the first place. It felt shady, disorganized, and honestly unbelievable. On top of that, the movers themselves were extremely unprofessional in their attitude and approach. The entire experience was stressful, chaotic, and handled with zero care or accountability. If you're thinking about using this company, think again and hire someone else who is actually professional, prepared, and respectful. And one more thing: if you look at Yelp, you'll notice that in review after review, the owner Jeff responds by gaslighting customers and retaliating, leaving "feedback" that doesn't match what actually happened. Based on my experience, I wouldn't trust those responses at all. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration--do not hire Moving Powers.
