This is especially unreasonable when you're moving heavy items. On two separate occasions, the facility was closed during posted office hours. I even called corporate, and they had no explanation as to why the location was closed. I rented a U-Haul specifically for my move and ended up wasting both time and money because I couldn't access the office as expected. As a paying customer, I expect reliable access and basic communication. Very disappointed with the lack of professionalism and accountability.

After moving from one apartment to another at a distance of about 1 1/2 miles they wouldn't take things off the truck until I gave the movers a huge tip for the movers. There were three guys and they wanted $500.00. My wife was pregnant at the time and they had no problems hassling and bullying us about the tip. I almost called the police but decided to pay. 4. Unusually large amount of things were broken. If it was porcelain or ceramics (including family heirlooms) it was damaged. If it was wood it was dented. When we mentioned this to them they didn't give us the time of day. We couldn't of had a worse experience. Correction for some reason Yelp says my location is San Francisco Calif. A week later we are setting up both tvs and none of them worked even though they worked perfectly fine the day before the move. I hired their service last month to help with my move to a new home. They arrived between 2-5 PM (closer to 4 PM) and gave me a call before reaching, just to confirm that I was ready. During the quoting process, we listed out all the items--furniture, chairs, bed, mirror, boxes, etc. When they arrived, they first verified the number of items matched the quote. They were okay with a few extra small boxes (2-4), but if something significantly bigger wasn't on the list, they either wouldn't take it or would charge extra. They charged me for 4 hours of work, and 3 movers showed up and completed everything within that time. They even moved 3-5 extra items without any hassle. They handled fragile items like the mirror and glass table with care, though they did charge $80 for packing materials. There was some damage to a dresser cabinet, but they compensated me for it. Overall, I'm satisfied with their service and would consider using them again.

The guys were very responsive to get the job, prompt and on time, and polite when they arrived and even through the process. However they totally hustled me. They quoted me one price and then changed and increased the price two times during the moving day, while they already had my things packed in their van. Which also they didn't show up with an actual moving truck but a large van --So that was their excuse as to why they now needed to do two trips to my new house and were going to charge for it, (why was it my problem they did not have a large enough moving truck and also did not tell me this??) and then claimed I had more inventory than they expected or I told them, which wasn't true. I stated I had two large couches and several end tables, baby crib and baby furniture and about 4 wardrobe size boxes and some medium boxes. They said I told them perhaps half of that, it wasn't true. I had an estimated inventory list I sent to several moving companies so why would I have told them anything else?? But what could I do at that point? They already had my belongings in their van once they increased the pricing, and I had to move that day, and they knew that. So they ended up basically hustling me, I ended up paying more than double their original quote. They charged for the distance, the double trips, anything they could use to charge me more for. I've moved multiple times in Manhattan, Long Island and the Hamptons over the last 11 years. Never had a bad experience like this. The price was always the price, they packed everything and were very professional. This company is not that. They are a small company, they don't have an actual moving truck, it's a large van. They don't make an inventory list before hand (so make sure you have one and it's exact, not even one or two boxes or a piece of furniture more when you get a quote from them, otherwise they will change your price multiple times during your moving process). And they will demand the tip as I see in other reviews they did this to me too and wanted 100/each at the end. So after quoting me 800. It was 1500. The whole process just felt dishonest and when your items are already in their van, your hands are tied and you have to pay it. There's a lot of moving companies out there so I would recommend looking elsewhere. Or if you hire them, make sure to have your exact inventory, and know what type of vehicle they are bringing to move your items in and make sure that all your items will fit. Otherwise you are in for big surprises the day of. And they know that, so they seem to be getting away with doing this as I can see from other reviews... it's the same story.

We had a complicated move- we needed two trucks, the trucks needed to be held overnight, my husband had woodworking supplies and I had a voice over booth that needed to be very carefully moved AND to top it off we couldn't start the actual move in to the new place until 4pm the next day! They never batted an eye - from the video walkthrough with Jesse to the incredible team who came for day 1 and day 2... we felt like we were in amazing hands the whole time. After getting all sorts of different prices for the job, I gave Zippy Shell a call. THANKFULLY I DID!! I got a much lower rate than the rest. Most of them wouldn't even bother because of where I live in the city. And there was no real guarantee that my stuff would arrive when I needed it to. But, with Zippy Shell, I had no worries. I was able to deliver my things to one of their facilities in NJ, pack the container myself & lock it up. The staff on the phone, the guy at the shipping facility all were very professional, very patient & very nice people who put me at ease with my concerns.
