I can't complain about the actual movers, who were fantastic, but the shady business practices are enough to make me want to warn others. I asked if the furniture would be reassembled as I had heavy bedroom sets as well as an electric couch & loveseat. I even called a week ahead of time to let them know I would be moving most of the boxes to the new house myself - the quote included 50 boxes -to cut some of my costs, and the new house was just across the street. So after the move I was told that several things were missing from the estimate that John visually saw . 3 area rugs that were already wrapped. a dresser, an end table - all in the garage when John came. a small gate (for my dog). and a few other things that were that were there when John gave the estimate. So now the movers also told me that they had to reassemble the furniture, put area rugs down and then move them til customer (me) was satisfied with their placement! i was told this work was all included in my quote. The boxes that had to be moved were a total of 10 as I moved the rest a head of time. So now they tell me it is the time they charge for and not the number of boxes. Needless to say I was very disappointed as the whole thing felt like a scam! For the most part, our experience with Midgard storage was fine. The hallways are well lit, they offer plenty of carts to assist with moving in and out and there is lots of space available for wrapping, packing and sorting items while at the unit. The only thing keeping this review from being higher is their silly policy of giving them a months notice before moving out. We told Midgard up front when we planned on moving out but failed to re notify them a month prior. As a result, we have a storage unit sitting empty for the next month that we had to pay for.
