This facility is organized, neat and clean. Liz was amazing! She has a way of being professional and friendly at the same time. She was even able to inform me of an additional storage locker that became available over the weekend that was more convenient, giving me two choices. This place is great! I picked this storage service because of the location and they had one last 5 by 7 storage locker left at a reasonable price. I called to ask about their hours and upon calling I found out that I had to come in person to finalize the agreement and actually reserve the unit. When I found that out, I jumped on the bus right away since there was only one unit left! The ladies at the front desk were very nice and explained how everything worked and even showed me the storage space before I reserved it. The way they presented the price in the office to get you to rent is shady at best. I came in and said "how much is it to rent here?" We looked at a unit and they gave me a price. It was a good price and they offered the customary half off the first month, so i said oK. But what they should have said was this... "This unit will be a certain price.. and... we do have a one time fee that you will need to pay.. and... there will also be another fee tacked on for insurance every month if you cant provide proof of your own insurance... and .. everyones rent is raised in price automatically after a few months as a matter of policy" " That will be the price you will pay." Thats not so hard to say up front. And i would have rented anyway. They made absolutely no mention of any other fees until the end when they ask you for money, after i was rushed through an online contract process. (you never really sign anything, they point you to a screen give you a mouse and and say " ok.. click here,.. click here,.. click here".. etc. Yes i saw the area where they mention "how much is your stuff worth? but by not making any mention of this up front you are led to believe the basic amount of insurance is included. By the time you walk out after this process you really feel like you just got scammed. Then later when you consider the real security of your stuff you realize the metal parts that your lock is attached to is held in place with 2 little wood screws... screwed into wood...? no metal doors or door jams. When you look inside the unit there is no celling, its chicken wire. I am not exaggerating, and in my unit it has already been ripped back and is only covering about half the celling. Also they insist you use your phone number as the gate code????... Really?? ..(like thats hard to get). Any one can pull up to the gate, punch in "star" your phone number minus the area code and then #. Thats it, they will be in. And it will be recorded as you coming in that day if anyone gets ripped off. As posted in an earlier review... "dont mess with the manager". If you do have any problems or complaints you will be met with an unpleasant, anger locked and inflexable approach to doing business. The good price they will quote you in the beginning is no bargain at all. read more

Liz gave us a warm welcome, listened to our needs and gave us a tour of the available units. She answered all our questions and was courteous and professional. She explained all the contract terms and had us checked within a half hour of arrival. When I arrived with my first load about an hour after the office had closed I discovered that the lock I brought with me was too large to fit the deadbolt. Even though she was off the clock, another employee who was leaving took me back inside to find a lock that fit. A+ service!!! read more

The staff is friendly, the units are clean, it's gated and safe.. Really nice facility! My issue is that its a corporate company and therefore they charge outlandish rates! I have been clearing out my unit to downsize and therefore pay less.. But to my surprise I was going to be charged more for a smaller unit! How can corporate justify this? I get supply & demand but some things just aren't right and good business practice should come before trying to make an extra buck off of your customers when they already pay a lot and "just because you can". Why would I move my stuff out of a large unit to pay more for less space?? Just because there's a demand for that particular size and not many available? The local office should have the ability to edit the rate in situations like this It's a shame because I don't want to find another location but I don't think I'll have a choice. read more

I recently moved some stuff into a unit here so I can't comment on the full experience, but signing the lease and getting started was as painless as possible. The woman who showed us our unit was so kind and helpful. Once she showed us the 5x5 unit, we quickly realized it was far too small and she easily upgraded us to a larger unit. I haven't used any other storage places, but I would definitely recommend this place. Also note that you need to factor in the price of monthly insurance if you're trying to calculate your costs. There's a $24 initial fee and we pay an additional $13/mo for insurance (we were assured this was the lowest rate). read more

I sold my home with an agreement to vacate within 3 weeks and agreed to do so. I was able to quickly arrange a large unit with direct garage door access at Extra Space when none were available anywhere else. The entire staff cold not have been more helpful and considerate. When I realized I was going to need another large unit I checked and there weren't any available immediately but within a couple of days they had secured another unit for me, also with direct access. I honestly can't say enough about their service but I can say that this is the first Yelp review I have ever done and I made a point to sign up so that I could post this review. read more

I was not at all impressed with Extra Space Storage. They did not have a plan that suited my needs & I had to pay for much more time than I needed. Then Marion, one of the ladies that helps run the place was extremely rude when I asked for a deal on the second month. There is only one bathroom & it is locked & the key is in the office so I hope you don't have to use the restroom when you come & the office is not open. Also, they don't have nearly enough carts. They always seem to be in use & you have to wait around for a cart almost every time. read more

We were relocating for my husband's job and needed a place to basically stage everything before lugging it to our new home. This place had an amazing deal of 1st month free. We were very pleased with the size of the unit and the cleanliness of the facility and figured our stuff was safe as houses. It was... From everything but water damage. Somehow either the roof leaked or a pipe broke and ruined our mattress and box spring set. Word to the wise... GET THE INSURANCE. Also be careful of the tweakers that roam around the place daily. Other than that it's not too bad. The staff are incredible and super sweet. read more

We only needed storage but the staff here were so amazingly helpful to both me and my daughter through a very difficult move. They helped us find people to help move , take stuff we couldn't use any more and get ups to pick up stuff that needed to be shiped. They went above and beyond their jobs to help us . I cannot express enough how much it meant to my daughter to get this help. I believe they do this for everyone and anyone that needs a hand. The staff at ESS is amazingly kind and I would rent from them again. The rent does go up but you have to remember that storage is suppose to be temporary not for years on end. They will help you with just about anything and the place is so clean. Made us feel like our items were safe and no chance of water, rodent, or any other kind of damage. I was disappointed with my storage experience here. The ladies in the office seemed super nice and friendly, but I was told I would have my unit held at a flat rate for the duration of my 18 month stay since I was an active duty military member. I used the autopay system and after about a year it automatically raised my rate by over $20. I called or stopped in each month I was billed at the higher rate (4 months), and each time I was told the problem would be fixed and credited to my account the next month. The month before my last month bill they told me that I would get credit for all previous months on my last bill. That never happened and I was again billed at the higher rate. After my last months bill was paid, I again went in to complain, and this time I was told I was already receiving as much of a discount as they could give me and that there was nothing they could do for me. They even blamed it on the corporate headquarters saying that they had no way to adjust rates or give credits. They lied to me and took advantage for four months to squeeze an extra $20 a month out of me. I would say if you have an alternate option for storage, then go somewhere else. read more
