I contacted UPS and went through the very detailed process of reporting the problem (that they insist on) - listing contents, submitting photos of the contents and every side of the shipping box - including box number, etc. After all my trouble, they told me I needed to contact the specific store I mailed it from - (didn't take it upon themselves to communicate the problem and pass on all the info and pictures to their UPS store). When I contacted this Murietta/Winchester store, they told me to send the pictures and info. Next in the process, they told me I needed to contact the vendor. I told them, "You are the 'vendor.' This wasn't a package shipped by another company through UPS. It was sent by an individual at your store and stayed within the UPS system throughout the entire process." They said they'd look into it and call me back. No return call, so I called back. They continued to put it off, the one lady went on maternity leave, the next employee said they'd pick up where she left off - many phone calls over many months trying to get some help to pay for the phone that was stolen - or some kind of compensation - and was consistently neglected. I finally let it go - but I have made it a point not to use UPS for my many mailings and shipments since then. I had never had a problem with UPS over my lifetime, but was surprised that when I did, they didn't step up and take responsibility for their mistake. I won't have a problem with them again because I won't use their services voluntarily again. It has cost them (& will continue to cost them) way more than the cost of a (even inexpensive) cell phone worth of business - just from myself and my family. Customer service is not what it used to be - even from long-time companies like UPS. Disappointing.

They accepted responsibility for the damage and said they would pay my claim - IF I TOOK DOWN MY NEGATIVE REVIEW AND AGREED TO NOT LEAVE ANY FURTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I'm sorry, but wait....you damaged my stuff, and you admit culpability, but you won't pay me back MY MONEY and for YOUR DAMAGES unless I sign an NDA? Guess what, fellas? You don't intimidate me, and you can keep my money. I'd rather have everyone know how careless and unscrupulous you are. How many of that 97.8% were also extorted with an NDA? They are amazing. Bruno, Carlos and Triston arrived early and were so efficient with their time. They handled our belongings with care and made sure to wrap furniture that needed to be wrapped. They made sure that the each TV was transported in a tote and made sure that the TVs were all on their stands and in working order before they left. They even went above and beyond and fixed the legs on a couple of dressers that have been damaged for years. We have used a couple other moving companies in the past few years and Movers Best is by far the best one. They are very professional, friendly and extremely efficient. College Hunks was the lowest bidder of the three companies we called. They dedicated two days to the job, and everything went perfectly. The guys work all day - no sandbagging, scrolling through their phone or anything like that, they roll with the punches when we had to change things up mid job, no complaints, no arguments, just great service. They also listen. They only have to have things explained once, and do exactly what you ask. They're not shy about asking questions if they come across something that looks off. For example, I had some things in a junk pile that I didn't want thrown out, but I just forgot about them. The guys felt it didn't look right that these items were junk, so they asked me and sure enough saved them from getting hauled off to the dump. Also, and this is not absolutely necessary, but they're nice guys. Well spoken, cheery, good senses of humor, and they got along well with our rambunctious dogs. Ultimately, when you have a job to do you want it done, whether or not you get along with the people doing it. But I have to say it was a pleasant bonus dealing with nice guys over a couple of days. If we ever have another move to do, or junk to haul, we're calling College Hunks.

In contrast, my mom recently used a different moving company and they showed up late, high, and moved incredibly slow because they were charging by the hour (they kept stopping to get in their phones). Friday I had 3 movers come move just the heavy furniture. Everything was going smoothly up until the movers went on their lunch break (over an hour) when they told me it's only going to be 30 mins. When moving my furniture into my new place I made sure that no damages were made. My new bed ( a month old maybe) is ruined. I pointed it out to two of the movers, stated they took pictures...they never did...and someone would be in contact. I too matters into my own hands and called Kai the customer service gal and told her what happened. The run around. Then payment comes, 5 hours...when they took an hour and 20 min lunch break and the distance between old and new house is 12 mins. Movers leave, I'm setting up tvs etc for myself and my kids, realizing my power cord from my tv is missing. Called the next day and told me they don't know when they can get it back to me. They should be dropping it off on the way home or to work or mail it. Been calling, texting, emailing and have been completely ghosted by this company. Called corporate today to get an answer from someone , a refund, and my power cord back. I am a single mom of 3 who needed to do an emergency move due to black mold in the home so this was supposed to be a stress free process which has turned into a big headache. I would not recommend these guys.
