I had my things stored at this facility for approximately a year or so. Often went to check on belongings and all was well, never really had an issue until the day I decided to move out. It was 2-3 days after a rain storm and had movers move my things out my unit when they noticed that my Cali king board was damp, my black hybrid pillow top mattress was destroyed along with other minor items. I immediately called the office ( was a few min from closing) explained what happened to the Asst. Manager, asked him if he wanted to come down and look at items ( as they were loaded on truck when realized, but easily accessible to come look at) he advised to take pic and send to claims dept. Fast forward I did and that was even more of a nightmare!! The company uses a 3rd party insurance who is HORRIBLE!! The adjuster never called or follow up with me,until I went through there corporate office. It has been months and with numerous calls, claim was denied ( found out through random email). There was one good thing out of this story the office manager ( can't remember his name at the moment) was great he came down to my unit assessed it and wrote me a letter acknowledging there was water damage but not sure how it got there.. We both visually seen the crack in the foundation over my unit and they took no accountability, even with letter !!! According to extra space that's not covered, (So wha the H^LL is) and per adjuster " she's not sure my things were really stored there". ( Really absurd ) And she never replied back to me. Again till this day 2 months later I have never received physical paperwork from these people about my claim. Absolutely NOTHING!! None the less beware of storing your belongings here!! Highly recommend this location of extra space storage. It's very convenient being right on route 1 in Norwood, and it's extremely well maintained--very clean inside and out, always well lit and comfortable temperature as well. We have used other facilities in the past and this is our favorite by far! The manager here, Jim, is also extremely helpful. When we first starting to rent units, as I was cleaning out my parent's house, Jim did a wonderful job recommending what size units we would need. He also helped arrange for me to rent several units near each other in the huge building; this made moving things in so much easier. Now that we are starting the move out process, he has been equally helpful and kind, which I think says a lot! read more

I did not rent here. As I entered, service pro was there remediating a recent flood of the facility. They said it was pretty bad when I asked. Several current customers were removing their items, which were waterlogged. The entire facility smelled... a combination of must, mold and something else. The facility was dirty, worn and littered even in areas not affected by the flooding. They have cheap rates, but this is definitely a 'get what you paid for' scenario. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!! I do not write many reviews, but I had to warn others who may be considering renting a storage unit from Extra Space Storage in Norwood MA. The manager Paul Kaplan is very quick to call you and act accommodating when you rent the unit. He will call you that first day to welcome you, but he will hide from you when he doesn't want to discuss an issue at the location. I am in the process of moving from California to Massachusetts. The moving truck shows up in five days. Needless to say I am very busy and exhausted. I rented a unit online from ESS in Norwood on 6/30/23 and then realized that it was very far away from the apartment I secured, so I immediately called Paul Kaplan on 7/8/23 to inform him that I would not be using the storage unit and would like a refund. He refused to get on the phone or to offer any refund. I would have been happy to receive a prorata refund. Paul Kaplan still has the key and lock to my unit in his desk draw in his office. There has been no activity from me, since I am still in California, but he nonetheless insist on keeping the full month rental amount. What kind of person does that? STAY CLEAR OF THIS UNETHICAL MANAGER AND GO ELSEWHERE. I wish someone had told me that about a week ago. read more

I have been a loyal customer since my father passed away two years ago and I needed to place my family's belongings in storage since my mother also passed away a few years earlier. I was initially happy with the facility and the easy access from Route 1. However, the flooding in Norwood caused multiple items in my unit to be destroyed, and I was not treated fairly in the aftermath. The amount they offered me for compensation for my family belongings (many of which have sentimental value and cannot be replaced) is unreasonable and disrespectful. I placed my belongings in this unit with the understanding that the building was safe and well-equipped. It was clearly not prepared to protect these items, and it is not fair to punish customers for that. I plan to take legal action if I am not compensated fairly and/or reimbursed for the time I had my belongings in this environment. I would not recommend dealing with this company. Extra Space Storage in Norwood is a great place to keep all your extra belongings. They have storage cells that range from 5x5 ft to 10x30 ft, which can accommodate different needs. The storage facility is open every day including weekends for personal access to your storage cell. I was so excited to rent here and i was happy. the facility is nice. When i signed my lease Jim was nice. Until I received my 4th notice during my whole time there about another increase in price. It went from a dollar to $ dollars and so on. I didn't like that i was only there for a year and began to change the fee within being there for 3 month then another notice came in then another . I started from $$ a month to $$$ a month...that's was a 12 dollar jump for a tiny little space. May not seem like a huge deal to some but it is to me. You should promote keeping good customers who pays on time an yet you just find a way to push them out. It seems like everyone is having a great experience but no one talks about the fee increases. They probably wont post this because it will be the only negative complaint but Oh well.... I will post it on Yelp for the world to see. read more
