UPDATE - 6/26/2026 I will say that Roger (the site manager) did go out of his way to help us as best he could. He loaned a smaller unit to secure some of our most precious remaining items, credited us for a month free rent, etc. That said, when I went to check on our stuff the next day, I found that it had been entered AGAIN. There was a chair in front of our unit that they used to scale the wall, and tape over the camera. Since this was a Sunday, nobody from their corporate call center was available to help us in any way. After speaking with several other tenants we found that at least six other units had been burglarized recently. Completely unacceptable. The company has since hired private security to patrol the premises, but this is obviously a temporary PR fix and not a long term solution. The security vulnerability is unchanged. If you value your possessions, do NOT trust this place until they address the low walls and thin mesh ceilings. read more

WARNING! Learn from our mistake: we thought our items would be safe at Extra Space Storage on NE 72nd Ave. WE WERE WRONG. We had THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF PROPERTY STOLEN from our storage unit. Management has not responded to our multiple requests for information from the security cameras/surveillance footage. WE ARE NOT EVEN ASKING FOR THE FOOTAGE ITSELF; it would be very helpful to know what management has footage of and if it shows what was stolen. We know the thief/thieves used our orange Gorilla cart during the theft because we found it outside our storage unit, by the building's entrance door. The theft should be easy to identify on security footage given the presence of a BRIGHT ORANGE cart and knowledge of the general timeframe when the theft occurred. At this point it's unclear to us if there even are working security cameras at this location. The lack of empathy and responsiveness has made this miserable experience even worse. To summarize: YOUR BELONGINGS ARE NOT SAFE HERE! Also, the encampment outside the gates is disheartening and a security threat. The empty locker across the hall from ours was opened and someone tore open the wall inside to an adjoining filled locker and got some of their stuff out too! Our first three months was at a rate of $97, then was going to jump to the high $160's. I negotiated down to $145, which is still a 50% increase. Anyone else's incomes going up 50%? Time to move our stuff to a new place. read more

Great customer service and very helpful. They listened to my needs and got me into a unit even after the office was closed for the weekend. Really wish I didn't have to buy a lock when I had my own already. But if that's the price of convenience it was well worth it. read more

You know that joke where you apply for a job, buy a house, etc. And the agent is Satan. He is convincing you to come to Hell. It looks all lovely until you sign on the dotted line. The punchline is: Yesterday you were a prospect. Now you're closed. That's this outfit. From violating the Visa Operating Rules to breaking Oregon Landlord Tenant Law, they have it down pat. An elevator that takes longer to come than a meth addict. An exclusive lock cylinder that they know full well you can't get anywhere else An autopay system that hasn't complied with the PCI Council payment standard since 2015 (Visa/MC/AMEX - This is a tier 1 chargeback risk) But, the facility is clean and has overhead sprinklers (no extinguishers - Hey Portland Fire Marshal, get right on that) Did I mention you can't see what card you currently have enrolled in autopay? Now let's talk about the phones. Madea would hop in her Olds and drive down to the head office and cuss somebody out. Apparently they think it us King Burger because some 19 year old virgin with nimble fingers programmed a menu full of press this and that. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY, THEY LURE YOU IN WITH A GOOD PRICE, THEN HIKE IT UP TO COST MORE THAN OTHER FACILITIES. Move in was a breeze. Customer service for sign-up was great. Then 3 months later my rate went up 52%. A reasonable price hike is expected, but they went too far. I am out of state but will try to change facilities as soon as I can! read more

Please stay away from this place. They raised my rent $80.00 in on month. Tried to talking to them because I'm disabled and on a serious budget and only needed a couple more months at my current rate , they told me they could get even more for the unit I was renting. Please stay away from this place. They are very greedy. read more

I got a storage space here that I didn't end up needing. Andrew was super helpful and friendly through the whole process, and he even managed to get me a partial refund when I closed my unit after a few weeks. If I ever need storage again this is where I'll go. read more

The point of using secure storage is to keep your belongings secure, right? This facility drilled out the lock on my unit due to an "error". I have no idea how long my things were left for people to rummage through but they clearly had been when I was notified. When I showed up and gave the unit number the person at the desk simply handed over a new key, no ID required and no explanation as to why this happened. Add to that I get hit with 20% price increases every few months. I had two units at this facility and although I asked the staff if I needed to give notice before vacating one unit mid-month and was told "no", I'm now being charged for the full month because I didn't give notice. read more

So far it's been a flawless experience. The two employees I've encountered have been super friendly, and relatable. I received my first month free, and got further discount for referring a neighbor, the prices overall are a little bit cheaper than some of the competition, entry is easy at all hours of the day, and this indoor facility is brand new. There is a restroom as well :-) I probably won't go there in the dark as it's not in the best neighborhood/right by the Max bridge on a dead end, and the long and winding motion-detector-lit hallways kind of make one feel like the twins from "The Shining" could round the corner at any moment. That's probably my own paranoia, though... I'll update my review a few months down the road! read more

Your stuff is not secure here, and they will keep raising the rates. Rates have increased like 4 times in less than 2 years, meanwhile my most precious un-replacable historic photos were stolen, and of course insurance (which they make you carry s they aren't responsible) won't cover that, since there is no monetary value.
